My review of: Kiwanis Park (Man is this park get a recent facelift that is out of this world awesome!) If your fishing or going for a walk, this park is very pleasing. We saw them stocking trout in this lake and saw many huge as well as small fish go in. Because of the hugeness of this park I will name them by zones. The north side of this park has its own parking lot and playground. The main play equipment is in full sun but the large handicap playground is covered with thick rubber padding to run on and a small marry go round. There are plenty of water fountains and covered picnic tables. You will find the bathrooms right next to the lake. walking paths take you around both sides of the lake into the south regions of the park. A walking guide is posted at an old cement bench at the beginning of the parking lot. The center of this park has a main road that crosses through it over a bridge. A rose garden is between the bridge and lake. More picnic areas. Next to the parking lot there you will find a Dick & Jane Neuheisel Sister City Garden that has its own bathrooms that are usually locked, and Ruben Romero park which is a gated park within a park that is for reservations only and looks very well cared for The play equipment looks new, the grass green and lush. On the other side of the bridge going south is a large covered picnic area and the main playground. Recently in 2015 the playground was redesigned and all new equipment has taken place of the old. The once vast expanse of sand is now cross cut by cement walk ways and the toddler area is completely paved with soft rubber and is shaded. Many more handicap friendly equipment is installed. The star of the show is the giant 3 story slide and a zipline. This play area blew my childrens minds and they had so much fun there. Further south begins the sports complex. You will find baseball fields, an aquatic center and large grassy fields before you hit the end of the park.

Kiwanis has been a general hub for children to play as well as local sports for years. Decades even. They recently, not sure how recently, updated damn near everything there. Brand new equipment replacing all the old stuff. I believe they added more pavilions as well. Its a massive park. Dont expect to ever have it to yourself as its sitting right against a neighborhood and surrounded by many different schools. Its also a hot spot for birthday parties. You can actually reserve a pavilion for parties or other things as well. The only unfortunatel thing is that despite all the brand new beautiful equipment some of it has been "tagged". However, the people there during the day are usually wonderful and very friendly.

I lived near and walked/biked around the park many, many times. The new park for kids is amazing! Theres even "drums" and musical features for them to explore as well as a little zipping and many other cool things to play on, in and around. The picnic areas are usually kept clean and well lit as is the whole area around the lake itself. Occasionally there are some dead fish or other things like trash that wash up near the dock area, but its typically cleaned up within a day. Overall this is a park I come back to time and again - lots of facilities and activities for everyone!

We had a little bit of confusion initially since there is the north playground and then the more central one. The north playground is definitely more run-down and dirty, but by no means bad. Once we found the other one (south of the road that bisects the park) we were much more impressed. Its kinda oddly covered, like it isnt quite sufficiently done and a decent amount of the equipment was still too hot to touch. It IS midsummer in Phoenix though, so we werent really expecting a lot. It looks like it will be a blast when we get out of the worst of the heat.

Came here for a Halloween event that our realtor put on. Nice Park with plenty of space. Even when the park is packed it is large enough so that you dont feel cramped. Theres ducks in the pond you can feed with your kids; my daughter got a kick out of that! I believe you have to rent out the "Cabanas" in advance but Im not sure exactly where you go for that. Overall nice park located close to many community amenities

Lake could be cleaner, but the park stretches on forever. Tons of pokemon on pokemon go, tons of stuff to play on, plenty off parkour to do. Excellent training location for parkour athletes seeking to improve their nerves with dangerous gaps or so ply improve their skills in non dangerous areas. No shortage of places to wander or explore, I find something new and interesting Everytime I visit.

I grew up around this park so I love it dearly. Its the prime spot to walk if you play Pokemon Go too. Its nicely lit for majority of the sidewalks and they have a generous amount of water fountains. They even have the fountains for doggos! Parking is everywhere so you can choose one of their lots or feel free to park down Mill Ave. Open late peeps!

Kiwanis park in tempe is a beautiful place to relax and unwind. Great for grolling out with perminant grills on site. If you love to fish, bring your rods and bait there is a man made lake stocked with channel catfish, rainbow trout, blue gill and , small mouth bass. If you are fishing bring your fishing license or pick one up from walmart.

I like the basketball court there and the playground area. Its pretty clean and maintained. The volleyball has a sand court which is awesome and I like watching the softball games there also. The fields are pretty big and the lights are nice and bright. I go every other day jus to play basketball

Nice little park in the heart of Phoenix. A decent size that you can get a decent walk/jog in without the need of wildlife or hiking. Pokemon Go has died down somewhat, so the amount of people walking around looking at their phones have lessened (although there are some good Pokestops in the area).

I live across the street from this park and frequent all the time. The playground has age appropriate equipment for my one and three year old boys and since we have visted at all different times of the day, I have never felt the park was so overcrowded we couldnt still enjoy our time.

Great park. Often smells like a pond though (as it is). Very large for the location. Offers almost anything including batting cages, wavepool, soccer, multiple lake views, and it also opens up to the canal route if your interested in biking. Multiple events hosted monthly.
