The other reviewers are right when it comes to trying to get service. We were there on a not-very-busy Saturday evening. We walked right up to one of several open spaces at the bar and were just ignored as bartenders refused to acknowledge we even existed. Would it be so hard for them to say something like "Ill be right with you"? When she finally comes over to us, shes very pleasant but nothing is said about the long wait. If it wasnt out in the middle of nowhere, wed all be tempted to leave and go do the next corner bar. But no, you are stuck there so you wait. On another note, not that Im some wine snob, but I dont particularly like the Frontenac grape so popular up here in the northern latitudes. But I do like the Marquette wines. When you look at the winemakers notes for each wine it says which grapes are used but not the percentages. Im looking for something that is mostly Marquette. So I ask the bartender if she can give me a better description. Nope. Not even when she ran to someone else. No one knew the percentages. We took our chances with Jete.
Stopped there to do some wine tasting. There was 4 of us in the group. We have never been there before. We bought our chips and went to the bar. We stood there for about 20 minutes and watch everyone else get served. We couldnt even get eye contact from any of the servers. When a gentlemen came and stood next to me, with a couple minutes his glass was full. Then another couple came on the other side of him and they got served. At this point we all decided to leave and get our money back. Very disappointed and would not consider going back. Not a good experience and there are so many other wineries that the servers are friendly and you can get waited on. Not impressed at all.
We had a "girls weekend" in the St. Croix River area and visiting the local wineries was one of our Saturday activities. We hit Dancing Dragonfly at the right time, because it wasnt too busy. We were able to do a tasting for 6 with the undivided attention of their wine expert. We ordered pizza and flatbread from their menu , which were good and ate out on their back porch gazing at the lovely grape vines. When we were leaving the party buses masses started coming. Whew, glad we missed that! It definitely would have affected our level of enjoyment. Advice.. time your winery visits at their slow times!!!! Its a lovely place!
Another lovely Midwestern winery. For being such a young winery, the showmanship is stunning. The tasting room, balcony, patio (and even the bathrooms) are put together with the finest touches. They have a nice array of wines that have delectable finishes. My favorite was the Jeté. It has a smooth smokey finish while maintaining a titch of fruitiness. I worry about their plans to expand the selection. While they currently offer about 15 wines, Id hate to see distinct flavors get lost in a large list. All-in-all, an excellent visit.
I tried to be a customer as I made a rare pass through their town, but they had no accommodations for sampling without the inclusion of their glassware. I have zero desire to add to the glassware in my kitchen nor the room, so I had to pass on making any purchase. I would have happily accepted even a $2 discount to let them keep the glass. Aside from that, the facility is beautiful and clean.
It could be improved if they had waitress service at the tables. Allow a lot of time as it is Too slow of service time. You have to order at the "standing only" bar & during peak times you have to wait a long time to get service. The inside seating is cold & lacks coziness. Outside seating is ok but only if weather permits. And they wont refill your glass at the table. You have to go to the bar.
What a wonderful night listening to some of the best Jazz music I have heard in a very long time! Gypsy Mania was a delightful group of extremely talented musicians who truly know how to entertain a crowd. We had a great time with superb wine and wood-fired pizzas! ! Thank you DDW for bringing in this wonderful group and for a very enjoyable evening Whens the next one?!?
Great place to visit. The employees are spectacular and very helpful. You can do a wedding, any kind of shower or whatever. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor space. The wine is terrific. You can join their wine club. Its only a few miles from Taylor Falls, so its a good way to spend a day on the back roads.
Atmosphere and what really got the 5 stars was the service. Darla helped us out and was just awesome. Great recommendations and super friendly. Would definitely go back. Cant say much for the wines since I am still learning about wines but loved her suggestions and the service was great.
We had a great time and the tasting room was full but the service was great. Laurie helped us selct our wines and was a hoot! I like the Sashay, Jig and Tango. A definite must if you like high quality unpretentious wine.
Had my first visit to the Dragonfly Winery and loved it. The atmosphere, the wines, and the service were all terrific. Really appreciate their commitment to charitable giving as well. Outstanding place!
One of my favorite wineries! Love all of the wines and the staff and food are amazing! Stop by for the music on Sundays, or the half price pizzas during Friday happy hour. Its worth the drive!
Great tasting wine and a beautiful location. I went for a wine tasting a few months ago and had a lot of fun. The staff was very helpful and answered all of our questions.
Delicious food, great scenery. We had the Promenade and some Jig for later. Jig was quite sweet, but the Promenade was perfect with our paninis on the patio.
Laurie was awesome! She directed me through the extensive list of wines all from grapes grown at the vineyard. The tasting includes a souvenir wine glass.
Vety enjoyable time. Fantastic wine tasting, nice outdoor seating with music, had a pizza with a nice glass of wine after tasting.
If you like sweet wine, get the cha-cha and tango wines! 100% wonderful. Beautiful venue.
Awesome wine! Best winery been to in Wisconsin.. Staff extremely friendly and helpful...
