Great tasting: they let you taste any wine, including their most expensive frozen wine. The owner has his main business (neither food nor agriculture) in a town nearby, and the winery is mostly fun for him, not primarily a business. As a result, their main goal is perfection in wine making, not an immediate profit. Their wines won multiple medals at the State Fair, which attests to their quality. Look at their web site for dinners and other events. As of Sep. 2013, they were almost done with a new pizza oven, Their dinners will become even more exciting, and with wine parings (3 wines) they are a great value at $20. We also took a grape-mobile ride. Even though the web site said that there should be a minimum of 5 people for the ride, they did it just for the two of us, and the ticket price was credited towards wine purchase.

My experience at Tassel Ridge was great. The people were friendly and the wine tasted great. You cant beat free wine tasting. Where I am from you have to pay to taste wines at different wineries. Wine prices were decently priced and the overall experience was excellent. The bad part about this winery is after purchasing a few different bottles of wine that we enjoyed, a few days later we opened them and they did not taste the same as the ones that were sampled at the winery. All the people I had went with agreed with this as well.

Best wine made in Iowa. These people have a better handle on the craft of winemaking than anyone in the state. So many of the wineries in Iowa rely on gimmicks and fruit wine to cover their poor products but Tassel Ridge is just straight up good wine
