Gorgeous wood cabin in the foothills of the Shenandoah Mountains. Memorial Day 2017 was the great reopening for the new owners. The original owners sold it, but the granddaughter of the original owners stayed on and works there. They have live music sometimes, a resident friendly dog, and a beautiful view. The smaller selection isnt what you find at commercial vineyards, instead its focused and done right. This was the only 5-star vineyard from my weekend trip. The drive up was perfectly fine, disregard the people complaining in reviews. Its not the owners responsibility to maintain a road, either. As long as you dont drive it in a Ford Pinto during a storm, youll be fine.

Spectacular experience! If you let the "scary mountain drive" deter you from visiting this gem, youre certainly missing out. Margot was our wine hostess and did an excellent job. The wines surpassed our expectations; my cohort actually joined the wine club (he never does that!). You can bring your own picnic and enjoy the amazing views on the deck or opt to purchase food at the winery. A few people ordered artisan pizzas on the deck beside us - they looked amazing. We absolutely cannot wait to return; Im especially looking forward to the view in the fall.

Best view Ive ever had at a winery, absolutely gorgeous. Bring some snacks, or buy some pizza or cheese platter there, and enjoy a beautiful day on the deck. Only drawback is that the wine is remarkably average. Make sure you dont rely on Google Maps or other GPS directions to get there and use directions from their website, as the GPS will bring you the more difficult way, which is saying something, since the road up is unpaved and narrow as it is.

Best Vineyard in VA (so far) Drive up to the vineyard was Awesome. Been a while since ive driven on a true mountain road. If you have troubles driving in tight spaces, it may be a good idea to have somebody else drive up. Otherwise the wine makes the drive so worth it! View is PHENOMENAL, Wines are SPECTACULAR, and service was awesome and staff was personable. This is exactly my type of vineyard to visit. A+

Hidden on top of the mountain and with a very elegant and specious tasting room. Wine selection is quite tasty and the view from the balcony is worth the drive especially at sunset. Believe me, one of the most beautiful vineyards in the area if not in the state. Totally overlooked and underrated. Go there, you will love it.

The two mile drive up the mountain road in wet conditions is dangerous! Do not try it unless you have 4WD! It is closed March 2014 which is not on the website or any other resource. We were very disappointed to find it closed yesterday after the terrifying drive up the mountain on the wet, one lane gravel road.

Fantastic views, well worth the nail-biting drive up. Be sure to use the winerys web site, not a GPS, for driving directions. The rating room is huge and comfortable, the balcony is wonderful. Any wine would taste great here.

Great wines and the view from the porch is beyond spectacular. Im returning when the leaves change. Yes the road is a little scary but youll make it. The owners are very friendly.

Beautiful view, but the road up is treacherous. Steep, gravel, single lane, with few places to pullover for oncoming traffic.

Just keep heading up the road, it is well worth the trip. This is our favorite winery, and view, in Virginia.
