First and foremost let me say that prior to 07/04/2014 I would have given them 4 stars. In this instance, what happened on that day and the following lack of response from Sacramento Raging Water managers has earned them just the one star, and even that is being generous. Let it be known that I have had memberships with them, off and on, since they were connected to Six Flags. This is the first time that I have had serious issues with them. Last year on 4th of July I decided to take my family down to Sacramento RW. On the advice of a friend I decided to call prior to purchasing my family 7 memberships online as he had been the week before and several slides, including the wave pool, had been inoperable. After calling and being told by a female employee that all rides were operable, I purchased our passes online and made the 2 hour trip from Chico, Ca to Sacramento, CA to RW. Once there I was very upset to find that there were 4 slides inoperable. I asked to speak to a manager immediately but was told they were in the park and unavailable at the moment. After calming down I decided to make the most of the situation for the sake of my children, especially my then 8 year old autistic son. We entered the park, took pictures and received our passes and found a place to set up camp. Unfortunately, that day someone decided to do fireworks that started a nearby fire and the park had to be shut down less than 30 minutes after we were situated. Now, I understand this is out of the control of the park and its staff, so I do not blame them for following protocol. However, the staffs training on handling these types of situation is well below par. Long story short, during the parks closing, my kids were separated from one another. This includes my autistic son and his brother who was with him. We were continually asked to leave the park even though I explained to several staff members we would as soon as I located my last 2 children who were with each other. Instead of attempting to help me locate them, they kept insisting that I leave and reunite with them outside of the park gates. Needless to say I became irate and told him to have security escort me out as I was not leaving without my boys. I had my 3 older children and my fiance spread out and look for them in and out of the park and call if they found them. 10 minutes later I get a call from my oldest daughter telling me she found them outside the park where they had been escorted by a staff member and left there. I was furious at that point. Who the hell in their right state of mind with any common sense tells 2 children they have to leave without helping them to find their parents or an older of age sibling first? My fiance told me to calm down and call later to discuss the issue as I was too upset to discuss things rationally at the moment. I agreed and quickly turned my attention back to my disappointed children. I ended up salvaging the day and night by going to Sunsplash in Roseville.... Great deal and major fun.

This place is absolutely horrible. I am so shocked that people actively seek out fun at this establishment. If you enjoy melting in the sun, having no space to walk, waiting in long lines, paying ridiculous fees, having 10 rides to chose from, swimming in murky water, getting mistreated by employees, overpaying for simple needs like water, and waiting an hour for food, then this is the place for you! I paid $40 for two of the double inner tubes, because the employees and website made it seem like you needed to rent the tubes if you wanted to go on any of the rides. Of course, upon walking around, I noticed you could wait to use a tube on each specific ride, but it would take a longer to get on if you didnt rent a tube, since you had to wait for other riders to finish using the attraction-provided tubes. Life guards are constantly blowing their whistles for the smallest of disturbances. If someone actually ends up getting hurt, and they blow their whistles to bring attention to the matter, itll be like the boy who cried wolf, and no one would even turn to look. The tubes were so annoying to carry around all over the park, and if you didnt want to use them you could not leave them at the rental area and come back from them. What a freaking rip off. And on top of that guests are handsy and try to steal tubes the very second you let go of them. If someone does steal your tube, they will not replace your tube even if you have your wristband (that comes with the tube rental) on. I got an $88 guest voucher off of Groupon for 4 people, but then theyll make that money back by charging $15 parking, $12 locker fee (for the smallest locker that barely fits a purse), $10 for a single tube or $20 for a double (which youll need for most rides), and dont get me started on overpriced food and drink. They also kept running out of the single tubes. I wish the water in the pools and Lazy River wasnt murky, cause then I wouldve at least been able to give it 2 stars. Literally not worth the 3 seconds - 30 seconds of fun youll have on each ride. That is if you have time to go on the rides since the lines are horrible, and if the rides arent closed.

We got there at three and I decided to purchase one day tickets online as they were cheaper, bought 3 adult tickets about $84. I get in there and we go to get food and it took 15 minutes just to place my order with only 4 people Infront of us, and another 20 minutes just to get my food. Total of 35 minutes so far. Two of the slides were down which we knew about they had that listed. We decided go to the wave pool first, only to find out that the wave pool is broken, no waves, and theres nothing saying that the wave pool is not working. To top all of that off I paid for a Locker at $15. To only have my stuff in there for a few minutes, because the water was so disgusting me and my two friends who came with me decided we couldnt stay, the wave pool and the lazy river were both very murky and there was all kinds of plant matter in it. I look into getting a refund cuz we were only there for an hour only to find out that they dont accept refunds, or exchanges for any reason when their service was so horrible. Their water was absolutely disgusting and dirty. On top of that they said no refund on my locker rental because I had already put my stuff in there even though it was for a total of maybe 10 or 15 minutes. Then I try to ask if I can speak to a manager or someone higher up and they tell me that they have no contact with corporate office or anybody above manager level. When they should at least have a phone number available for complaints. Bottom line I am never going to Raging Waters again. I will make sure anybody else I know never goes to Raging Waters as well, there are so many better water parks! I highly suggest Golf Land Sunsplash in Roseville theyre little bit further out but its Cheeper for single day entry and cleaner and everything is a lot better including the service. I have honestly never left a company or place that upset before. Whats worse is this was suppose to be a fun last trip with my Twin sister as I was visiting her, and my final day before flying home was ruined by this place.
