This is top three venues in Utah to see a concert. If you eliminate outdoor venues, its probably the best venue. Unlike your typical concert venues, this place is actually pretty clean. The demographic that attends shows here, is non-violent, and calm, and there to simply enjoy the music and not start trouble. The sound quality is some of the most perfect sound Ive heard live. No distortion or peaking highs, just crystal clear hits. I was very impressed and I fully intend to keep an eye on the artists they have coming to town because I enjoyed it. Theres a bar both right when you enter, as well as upstairs, and your tab stays opened in both locations. Cool place, I highly suggest it.

My favorite place to listen to a live band in Utah... If you want to hear some of the most talented creative bands making their way through Utah then this is the place. They dont have a bunch of gimmacks or money traps... Just great music and a great enviroment to listen to it. If you only care about whats on the regular radio or seeing image first acts with little substance then dont bother going... This place puts the sound first and with music thats the way it should be. I dont drink so I dont know how to compare the bar but for the music this place is the best... And for me a non-drinker those who do drink here dont act like D-Bags like at other places that I have been.

We hosted a private event fundraiser at the State Room last night and I cannot say enough good things. Leading up to the event, Darin (part owner) was very accessible and readily available to answer questions. The night of the event was awesome. Mike Masse and Jeff Hall played music. We had a healthy mix of drinkers and non drinkers and everyone loved the venue. The State Room staff was amazing. The two female bartenders were quick and friendly. Adam and his crew was very helpful in setting everything up and the sound and lighting people made it a great night. This is an awesome venue for a private party!

I really like this venue. Its an intimate experience; great sound; concert staff is very nice. Its all GA. Sometimes they set up chairs, depending on the artists preference. Only demerit was the bar: not super well stocked and the bartender was terribly knowledgeable (but I was there for the concert, not the booze). Still an excellent place for a concert. ✭✭✭✭✭

Best music venue in Salt Lake. Not too big, not too small and they get some great artists in there. Get there when the doors open and youll get a good seat, or you can stand up front if thats your thing. Ive never been to a show that was more than $20 a ticket. Good times will be had by all.

Service, quality and setting were perfect. As it should be since it part of the universitys hospitality program. We went there for lunch and were very pleased. Im a soup person and the squash soup did not disappoint. The salmon was very good as well. Will return next we are in the area.

Brian, the audio engineer, made sure we sounded great, and we were only the opening gig. I imagine the headliners get even better treatment. Classy space for musicians. I wouldnt consider this a bar, either. Its more like a theater which happens to sell alcohol. Highly recommended.

The State Room is the best music venue in Utah. The staff is friendly, the bar is well-stocked and the sound is great. Get tired of standing? Then simply take a seat in the cushioned benches and chairs. The State Room has everything you could want in a music venue.

Great venue for bands, small bar but easy access for drinks and fairly reasonable drink prices. They usually have a special. If you like to sit instead of standing up front you are still close to the stage. Sound system is good and loud, but never too loud.

Great intimate concert venue where you can have a drink while watching the show. No bad seats in the house except if you sit too close to the stage your view may be blocked by dancing patrons......Agree that this is the best club in SLC for a concert.

Such a great venue. They are not (as of 5/2010) on the 24tix schedule, so make sure you check their website regularly, or you will miss something great. I agree w/the other reviewer: best in Utah. Kilby Court is also great, in a very different way.

This is the Best Venue in Utah period! Incredible sound system and staff. You dont want to drink? No problem a self serve ice cold water next to the front door. They are all about the music there! Drinks are very reasonably priced as well.

Wow, this venue is amazing. Its 21 and older, so for a more mature crowd. Theres seating for those who want to sit, and a floor for those who want to be close to the band. Im looking forward to going to more concerts here

The State Room is one of the best places to see a concert. They have some stadium seating that is general seating, first come first served. There is also a great area for standing room to get an up close concert.

Fantastic venue. I went for the first time on June 2nd and was not disappointed. Nice little theatre style seating in the back with standing in the front. Great place for small shows and seeing local artists

One of my favorite places to see a show. Its got a be band that fits the relaxed vibe of the place, but the mellow atmosphere and the old theater seats let you just soak in the sound.

If zero was an option thats what they would have gotten instead. Ill never go back. The roided out freak at the door is a real piece. Uncompassionate af to say the least.

This is a pretty awesome venue. They have free water at the front before shows. The sound is fantastic; much better than Urban Lounge! Its just a great, intimate venue.

Went for the first time and really enjoyed it. The only reason Im a 4 star is it seemed like there were a lot of sound issues when the 2 bands I saw were performing.

Great venue. It is like a church of music with the pews that they have re-purposed as seating. Nice intimate venue - great place to see bands.

Great venue. Sound can be a little muddy sometimes but they book shows at a fair price and dont gouge you at the bar.

Never a dull place - really awesome place for live music. Big enough to get good bands, small enough to be intimate.
