good food, check good atmosphere, check questionable business ethics... CHECK Ive been a semi-regular customer at this establishment for a couple of years, but after my last two experiences Im never going back. First negative experience: I took my finance to the garage on her birthday with a few of our friends everything went well unti the end of the night. After I closed my tab and we started to leave for the door the bar tender stopped us in our tracks saying we still had two drinks to pay for. Every ones tabs at our table had already been closed we had our cards and receipts in hand, but somehow they let two drinks out to someone near our table and never charged them or opened a tab... After arguing with them for several minutes about they could not possibly be our drinks I ended up paying them just to leave the establishment. Second negative experience: I went there again, thinking to myself oh well, I really like Ill give them a second chance. Went with a few friends, and I picked up the costs.. we had a $14 dollar charge for a few drinks, and a $17.00 charge for a couple appetizers, and a 6 dollar charge for one last drink.. The night seem to go with out a hitch... Two days later there was additional charge on my card for $66 THE OLD YELLOWSTONE SALT LAKE CIT UT 03/29 $66.63 (the name they charge under) I called and asked them what happened, here we didnt order an entre, or anything big, and I havent been back since the original charges were put on my card so why is there a charge 2 days later.... They explained to me that they were too busy to look it up and to try back in an hour... That happened two more times, before I called my bank and had them cancel it... It seems their is either a lack of organization causing oversites, and overcharges, or there are some questionable people taking money for them selves. Ill never go here again.

Awful awful experience! Parking is terrible up over a curb. 2 friends and I went there ordered one shot and one beer. The service is super slow! The waitress refused to serve anyone else at our table and accused the rest of the table of giving drinks which they werent. Waitress was named Alex and was rude and refused to serve our table.. I couldnt even get a refill on water. This was the first time I had ever been there and it looked like a cool place. But I will never go back there again. I could see if A person was falling down drunk puking and couldnt walk to cut them Off. but 2 drinks? The person next to me had to order a refill for my water cuz she wouldnt even bring a refill on water. She "cut us off " and refused any other service then charged each of our tabs a gratuity for 3 people to ensure she still got her tip. Not sure where it says they can automatically charge you 18% gratuity. The food is just mediocre bar food. Those hat rate it as the best food ever invisibly were drunk and everything tastes incredible when you are drunk. You can have a lot more fun and better service else where and looking at the refinery is certainly something you could find better scenery and parking. If you notice their website is out of date and there isnt a way to contact them to resolve issues. This is not a place for fun friendly people to go because you will be judged by the staff and your fun friendly personality will kill your night.

Im a regular - usually on Sunday nights for live music, outside fire pit, sounds of water falling and running, tiny white lights, outside bag toss games, occasionally several friendly dogs (They are very friendly to pets), etc. - - Staff has never been anything but super friendly, accommodating, and skilled. We pay with debit card, so I dont know what that guy is talking about cash only - - Brussel sprouts are AMAZING! I want to eat them like potato chips and get them every time. Also love the kale salad, the veggie burger, and onion rings . my mom had the funeral potatoes once and they were too spicy for her extremely tender tongue. The staff pleasantly and swiftly corrected the situation. Love the atmosphere, also. One of the best spots in SLC!

Theres a lot to love about the Garage, especially considering the backdrop of oil refineries and frontage road locale on Beck St (which somehow add to the charm of the Garage. The Garage feels like a well thought out biker bar. The drink selection is varied enough to keep most anyone happy, and the food definitely fits the comfort bill. During the summer, the patio is great, and the live music options are usually fun if you can catch them. Service is alright, but you almost expect that from a place like this. Overall, the unassuming location and execution on environment, food, and divey drink offerings make the Garage 5 stars in my book. Definitely one of my favorite wells in SLC.

What a funky & rustic place, being right next to the refineries. The food, drink, live music, and service are excellent. What a great place to meet with friends, or just drop in for an awesome burger. My favorite though, are the $3 sides of roasted brussel sprouts, who ever would have thought that brussel sprouts could be awesome. Only complaint, is this place gets real busy, and as a result getting a parking place can be a trick. Just make sure you dont park in the bike lane, unless you like a parking ticket promptly put under your windshield wiper. Still, there is plenty of parking along the road, you just need to make sure you are not in the bike lane, like some people do.

I like the garage. Anyone who raves about their brunch, may be exaggerating. The food was very mediocre. Not bad, not super great, but food nonetheless. What makes The Garage cool is the location, and ambiance. Nothing like chilling out on a late morning on Saturday or Sunday on their back porch. Its in an area of Salt Lake you most likely never go to unless you work at the refinery or are looking for Southern Exposure. I sat in the sun and actually got a tan as I hung out with friends and enjoyed myself. My wife got the huevos rancheros, I got the breakfast sandwich, but we both wished we got the chicken and waffles after seeing our friends dish.

Charging a cover is a silly old nickel and dime business. It makes me wonder why you would pull a move like that on an out of the way spot like beck street. The atmosphere is good but the waitresses were not friendly in the slightest and spent more time talking to their friends than serving drinks. No wonder it was less than half full on a weekend. edit: Was dragged here again on a Saturday night, the door guy was far from friendly and wouldnt even allow us to get cash from the bar from the CASH ONLY door. Is it still 1995? (the first time they encouraged us to do this) Really just a poor experience not ever going back

This is a very cool bar. The attention paid to detail in food, service and décor is fantastic. I’ve found you usually only get this level of quality with owner-operated establishments… And behold, the owner and his wife were both there. The burger was one of the best I’ve ever had and the service was truly fantastic. Go out on the patio and you will be in one of the coolest patios I’ve seen. It’s almost surreal. -Ten feet away is a gas refinery that’s actually operating and makes this place industrial to the core. I highly recommend anyone wanting a casual bar check this place. And great job to you folks at The Garage.
