I have been in this hobby since 2005. For some reason I had never heard of this place until 2 months ago. The moment I stepped in I was completely blown away by the beauty and health of the corals. From LPS to SPS and soft corals I was very amazed. Im used to seeing such high quality corals only online. That is why I used to get my corals almost exclusively from the internet. If you go to other fish stores in Houston their corals dont even compare to this one. I asked him which ones are for sale because I thought that the ones that were absolutely beautiful were only for display. Because at other fish stores thats exactly what happens. You see these awesome corals and then you asked him how much they are and they say that they are not for sale that theyre there only for display. Then they point over to the half dead brown corals in their for sale tanks. When I asked Dennis the same question he told me everything you see is for sale! I have already spent quite a bit of money with FJW. But I dont regret it one bit. Im very happy to contribute to this business to make sure that it continues so that I can have access to awesome corals that I can actually see before I buy them. Keep it up Dennis!

I never write reviews, but Dennis and his shop warrant one. Best selection of all of Houston for corals, fish, and equipment. His shop blew my mind when I walked in, ORA and Aussie corals everywhere. Huuuuge display tanks everywhere, and everything is for sale. I make the hour drive to go to his shop even though there is another LFS 20 minutes away off of the 45S/Beltway that I can go to, Denniss shop is well worth the drive for some amazing corals. The only problem is that Dennis is the only guy working there, so if there are more than two people, and especially if the other person is long winded, it takes a bit to get help, but you cant fault Dennis for that lol When you do get help, Dennis is on it and does what he can to help. He also is pretty damn fair if you go in for trades. Defiantly check this place out if your looking for a new LFS, I cant say enough good thing about this place lol

Dennis was very helpful and showed us all around the store. He sat with us and pointed out every coral, which was amazing. He keeps all his live rock, and u can go through them yourself and pick out the ones you like, which was a first. The great thing about this place is you can really tell he knows his stuff, because his aquariums are immaculate and the fish are very comfortable and happy, swimming merely around. Everything we wanted he had in the store. Great place!

Great Coral selection but dont forget to bring some Vaseline, the Price Rape is Real.. With Great Coral Comes Great Prices, no discounts. Its almost like he adds a 20% finders fee premium on his Corals. Great Store for the Wealthy. Rich Mans Hoddy Store, if you on a budget dont even go there, you will leave with your feelings hurt.

If you are looking for high quality softies this is the place to go in Houston. Corals and other livestock are in excellent condition here unlike most LFS in and around the area. Had a small issue but it was quickly resolved by the owner. Still one of the best LFS in a 90 mile radius so I will keep making the drive from League City.

I love this store even though it is very small. Quality over quantity is the belief of this hobbyist. They also have a good selection of used items that people have traded in. The owner is extremely knowledgable. I would go here first for my saltwater tanks before looking somewhere else.

Beautiful corals, small shop, very cramped but nice selection for a reef tank. The thing that grinds my gears the most is that the corals dont have prices on the tanks so you have to have the owner stand next to you to make up the prices, but overall I intend to continue to shop there.

I love this place it gives me the feeling of being a kid in a candy store. Dennis is absolutely knowledgeable and will help you with advice on how to properly grow livestock. Hes obviously in the buisness of maintaining a good strong customer base. I absolutely recommend FJW!

If you are looking for corals and equipment this is your place. Dennis will guide you through whatever questions you have if he has the time. Only 2 places in Houston are worthy of saltwater aquarium livestock shopping imo

Awesome service, owner is very friendly and helpful. Fantastic livestock and killer prices. There are 2 other LFS and a Petco closer to me than FJW, but I will go the extra distance to do my business here every single time!

Dont let the location fool you. I was blown away by the huge selection of corals that are kept in really great conditions and look like they are kept well. Really healthy looking selection here. Would definitely recommend!

Great coral selection, however way too overpriced imo bought a certain coral, went to oceanlife the next day to find it half the price of what I paid for here. Go to ocean life, better prices

This place is small, but they have the biggest variety of beautiful and rare coral in the Houston area. Better than the fancy big stores by far.

Best Marine Aquarium store in the area. Dennis always has great coral - SPS and otherwise. His fish are alway top notch as well.
