I tried to set-up a field trip event for our students from a state university on short notice. I called the day before (01/12/2016) during morning business hours for the following night (01/13/2016), and I thought everything would go smoothly. Things did not go well. In the initial conversation with the Brunswick Denton sales representative (who was actually based in Addison, TX, and I will only name the sales lady by her initials J.H.), I requested lanes and shoes for our party. I was told that they now only offered Party Packages which required food and beverage (pizza+chicken fingers+soda all required) to be purchased as well. We have dietary restrictions in our group, so I explained this to the sales lady who responded with, "The students will need to trade their chicken fingers with students who have cheese pizzas if they want a vegetarian option. Of course, we will not be able to arrange that for them." I had tried to set-up a party before in October 2015, and the lanes and shoes option was, at that time, available. This is what our organization wanted; however, since it was short notice, and the sales lady would not budge, we reluctantly accepted. Next, I asked for her to send me an email with a quote so that I could get our purchasing department to work on the payment, and I gave her my direct cell line to expedite the process since I was out of the office. The sales lady sent the email at 3:52pm and then called my office to let me know that payment would have to be made by 5:00pm. Luckily, one of my student assistants contacted me to fill me in. I called the sales lady and explained process of a state funded university and how payment could not be made until the next day. She accepted by stating that she will give us only to 12:00pm noon to submit payment by returning the filled E-contract which was attached in the email. The next morning, I was informed that the university can not sign a contract without going through further departments approval. I called the sales lady to explain, and I asked if there was anyway for them to work with us and accept our credit card payment without the contract. She simply and politely stated, "No." I then told her I will need to ask my purchasing department again, and I said, "but I think we might be forced to cancel." Her very concise and non-sympathetic response, "Okay, thanks... bye." I tried to call back to ask if we could simply reserve a couple of lanes in the evening. They said lanes could only be reserved by way of the Party Packages. My department will not be setting up another event through this company again any time soon. There is another bowling alley (University Lanes) here in Denton and an even better venue (Main Event) which is a short drive away. I will share my story with other departments who do events off-campus as well.

Tried to set up a time to bowl here for 4 teens - we were coming from out of town, so we called ahead - they said, no problem just come early in the day (on SAT.). Then we decide to go see the venue in advance and we go ahead and make the 100 mile trip to look things over and talk to the mngr. - he says for us to make a reservation thru corp. By now, we have seen and ask him about " national bowling day" (advertised on their site) because it says free bowling at the time we had been told to come on sat.. We have now been on the phone for at least an hour, have driven 2 hours just to see and talk to the staff directly - and guess what??? OOOPPPPS. Corp. says they are NOT have the bowling day - they are CLOSED on that Sat. - they have a fund raiser going on there and have rented out the entire place. Had to call The Main Event in Grapevine, tx, who was very helpful btw - they got us reservations and had everything paid in a single call that lasted all of aboutt 10 minutes. Also, have to say, Brunswick was a mess - the lobby was fun of boxes, the arcade was about 95 degrees or higher and the whole place was generally smelly. It was also a bit run down and a bit of a mess. Staff was not all that helpful. I would definitely not recommend it.

This place has gone down hill. Dont ever get on lane 25. First it kept dropping the pens and the attendant first said dont press the restart button because it will mess it up worse. So all five times that it happened we had to wait for her to get someone to fix it! Mind you this was in two games. The third game started and by the second frame the pens didnt even come down. After waiting about five minutes the attendant said they were fixing it. Obviously by now its irritating. Then they have to turn the whole thing off and you can see the guy trying to fix it in the back. Me and my husband decided to go. It had be at least 15 minutes since it broke down. The attendant told us we had to pay for the whole game. Remind you we were in the second frame when it broke down. My husband had to argue that it wasnt our fault the lane was broke. Needless to say when we left they were still working on the lane. Very disappointed seeing as how my daughter had wanted to go bowl for awhile and this was our experience.

For those that are serious bowlers, you will enjoy this place. The lanes are oiled twice daily (at start of the day and around 5pm or so). The approaches are always very clean. The chairs, tables, and monitors do have a bit outdated feel, as does any bowling alley. They do allow smoking, but have smoke free times all day Saturday and until 5pm Sunday. If you are going to bowl here, either sign up online at their website and get coupons, or show up during one of their specials (after 9pm sun - thurs), or else you will be paying a lot (as with other bowling alleys)

This place is very clean and well kept. I took my daughter and her friend on a Sunday afternoon & they had a ball! Concessions are movie-theater pricey, but that is to be expected. The soda was $4+ for a large and the nacho cheese fries were about $9+, BUT they brought it out on a pizza platter. This portion fed 3 of us with plenty leftover. The employees were extra friendly and helpful too. It seems pretty family oriented and has a few video games to boot. Give this place a shot!

We used to come here once or twice per week and even bowled on a league for awhile. Not anymore. Since the new management took over, the hours have been cut back drastically. We never know when its open without looking it up, which is a pain, because the hours are different each day. When it opens early, there is no open bowling. Such a shame they ruined things for the daytime bowlers. We miss the good old Brunswick.

every time i go in to try to play, its always crowded and they never want to let me use my coupons, claiming "its not valid tonight." well, it doesnt say that in the fine print, and you tell me that every night i try to use it during the week. and if i could ever get a real person on the phone to ask instead of a automated line, id know! plus the personnel are dogey when you try to get a straight answer out of them.
