9/2012~~Our trip to FL was the last two weeks in September. Were from PA and in FL looking at retirement areas/communities. Camped near The Villages so everything was convenient. This review is for the community and not the golf course. Nice community altho we really didnt see many people. A few in the tavern. The cafe is closed for now, pool area was nice but I thought a bit small in size for the pool and clubhouse. Clubhouse wasnt big and rooms were small but nice facilities. Its a very small town center with clubhouse, tavern and and pool area. Some new homes being built. This community was started by someone else who went bankrupt and DR Horton took over. You can get a deal on the townhomes (who would build townhomes for 55+?) and the villas. Both of those were already there when DR Horton took over. They havent sold yet (and apparently been sitting for a few years unoccupied) altho a few of the villas were starting to sell and one of the townhomes. You can get a great deal on those! (if you like the area they are located in) Fairly nice place.

Al Brosman

If you are looking for a club that stands behind its members but could CARE LESS about the public, then in my opinion, you have found the place of your dreams. The members here control the management in such a way that they cannot act logically. This is not through just one run in with the staff or the members, but several different times. As a paying customer, I should be treated with the same respect and courtesy as the paying members, yet it appears this is not the case. The public is held hostage to the whims of the members. This makes playing here difficult and unpleasant. As far as the course, it is fair at best. It is a decent place to hit a ball but make sure you are ready to answer to the members. Scenario- You pay for golf. Members want to see your receipt, because you are on THEIR course. Obviously you are a thief and should be considered as such until you prove differently to THEM.

Someone certainly seems to have rattled Al Brosmans cage. I am not a member of Arlington Ridge GC but have played there on many occasions. I have never had any problems with the staff in the pro shop, whenever I pay & play (the value for money fees are terrific) they are always courteous and informative although there is one particular Ranger who is not the most polite person on the course. Depending on the standard that Al plays to I can only think that some of the club members may take exception if he is hacking his way around the course or is playing too slowly in which case they have every right to point out the etiquette of golf. I am a club member in the UK and along with most courses they only allow non members to play if they have a certified handicap. Al, try playing some other courses that perhaps suit your game. DS

The Greens were horrible. Especially on the front nine most were sand painted green. The fairways and tee boxes were OK but the Greens were a mess. Even where there was grass the ball hopped all over the place.

Worst greens Ive ever seen. Fairways were decent but i wouldnt pay $10 to play here again with the greens being this bad. The green are almost completely dead and the ball bounces all over the place.

Close to home and the course has been really worked over. Fairways are in good shape and the greens are pretty good. Prices for tee times are competitive. Nice course!
