People are so crazy. When did Murfreesboro get populated with such snootie people. my kids have been begging me for months to see the new Captain America. I waited until it has been out a week and took them on a night i figured would be slow. Mind you this theater was not even at half capacity. well to the 3 grinches sitting behind us who tattled that my son was making to much noise shame on you. Eli was being good compared to what I have seen. He sat in his seat with pop corn and occasionally gasped the most he said was CAPTAIN AMERICA when he first appeared on screen. we left after the worker came and politely whispered that the man behind us complained and she saw he was being good but asked if I could make sure he didnt talk. I left bc it made me so mad I wanted to cry and I knew I better get out of there before I said something I would regret. So to the 3 stooges this is my message and feel free to pass it on. I know you have had small children once apon a time or I assume. Have you forgotten whats its like to have a child be so obsessed with something that thats all they talk about. when was it you forgot about those superheros that your son idolized and im sure you did anything you could to take him to see that movie or to buy him the toy. I hope you read this post and feel like crap bc my son cried the whole way home. What was I supposed to tell him??? Im sorry hunny I know you were being as quiet and as still as your little 3 year old mind would let you be but some buttholes behind us didnt like your excitement. so to you all I want to say is Ill pray for you to have empathy the next time you are in a superhero movie and there are kids in there. I mean it is a superhero movie what did you expect

Ive lived in Murfreesboro for almost 10 years now and never once have I enjoyed my movie experience from this or any other Carmike; though this one is the worst. Though they have the same flaws as most movie theaters, their major violation is their prices are asinine for what they are providing! They not only want you to pay the already high price for tickets to there small screens, but they charge crazy amounts for their SEVERELY limited concessions! They have cheap, stale tasting popcorn that Ive yet to see made fresh, a handful of candy options three times the price I would have to pay if I bought it outside the theater, and small beverages double the price of what would cost me a 2 Liter! When I tried to bring in my own bottled cola, they were quick to dismiss me until I trashed it. Since then I have chosen to sneak my own snacks and refreshments in my pockets or my girlfriends purse. More recently, theyve started turning off/down the freaking air conditioning in the theater for what I only imaging to lower their electric bill. I have on multiple occasions had to get up from my movie, sweat dripping from my brow, and ask them to turn it up only to be rewarded for the effort by them changing the room temperature from 78 degrees to 77. The ONLY reasons I go here every blue moon are because there are NO other close, "practical" alternatives or I dont feel like driving too far just to watch a crappy movie in a more comfortable setting. I primarily just go to Oprymills for the movies I want to enjoy and roll the dice here for the ones I dont care about. If they closed down today, nobody would even care...

Most of the reviews on here that are so low-rated are from people that are a varying level of illiterate, and all impossible to please. Be realistic, this theaters ticket prices are NOT bad. Certainly not "twice the price just to buy the movie". At the right times, Carmikes ticket prices are low even in comparison to competition. The concessions will always, ALWAYS, be expensive at any movie theater. Theres a balance of costs and profits between tickets and concessions that I wont bother to explain- an explanation never ceases the complaining. Basically, its expensive to run a theater, and to compensate, they have to charge you so you can sit on your ass and enjoy it. As for the commercials/previews- what? Lets say my movie starts at 7:30. I might arrive at Carmike at 7:15 (or earlier if my tickets werent pre-bought online) and buy concessions. Ideally, I get to my theater right at 7:30, woohoo! Its fairly simple to understand: get there early? Endure commercials. Get there on time? Its approximately 20 minutes of previews. Get there late? Its your own damn problem. Ive worked a lot of retail, and there will always be customers who shop whilst riding their high horse. But never have I ever seen such selfish, rude, critical, smug, dramatic, and downright stupid customers as I have seen while going to Carmike. And the reviews on here perfectly sum them right up.

This is our 2nd time visting this theatre and this visit was worse than the 1st. We were charged an overage of $3 per ticket for the movie being in 3D (not listed on their website)...so $39.50 later we had our tickets for our family. Then we spent $15 on popcorn that had so much salt on it you couldnt eat it. I had the gal replace it and the next bag tasted the same. We walked into the theatre our movie would be playing in and the music was so loud that people were forced to stand outside the the room until the previews started. We were told they couldnt do anything about that since it was pre-programmed advertising. Then the previews start and for 10 mins. there was nothing on the screen. A few Dads went out to tell them and then we finally could see a picture. This is a horrible theatre and I will not spend my hard earned dollars here again. Famalies are struggling these days to make ends meet....a night out is a treat and this was a very bad experience that was extremely costly. There was no manager to be found and the workers had "I could care less" attitudes. Maybe when they start losing their jobs because no one shows up to the theatre anymore, they might change their attitude!! I sure hope so!

IS THIS THE COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT ?????? Yes, most of the reviews here are correct ... Prices are too high for pop corn and candy .. But it seems there are a great many people still buying the large buckets of pop corn every week .. Sodas and Candy too !!! Go figure !! Not to mention the Annoying people sitting beside you that Smell bad or the little kids sitting behind you kicking the seat so hard that you have to move to another seat because the parents wont do anything about it .. Try Complaining to management ? Why ? Who Cares ? Think about it !! :) They already got your money .... No Refunds After the movie Starts !! No exceptions .... Heard that from a Young Usher as a mother had to take her son home because he got sick from eating too much candy... STop Complaining !! Wait unit it comes out at the Red Box ..... Or Better still ... Buy yourself a Back Yard Movie set up on line for about 4500.00 and show your own movies at home .. GEt Rid of the stress in your life and Grab a Pole and Go Fishing !!! :) :) :)
