These guys are the best! I was 40 years old and been "surfing" for several years in Galveston, TX (small, weak wind-chop most of the time). 5 years ago, I had read about Mike and Mikes surf school and decided our family definitely needed to visit them. My two kids, my wife and I had a blast. Everyone in the family was quickly up and riding waves. It was so much fun that we returned every morning for the rest of the time we were in Southern California (about 7 days). We returned last summer and it was just like picking up where we had left off. I work in education and I can confidently say these guys are the ideal when it comes to teaching/coaching. Safe, professional, warm and enthusiastic! Regardless of your comfort level in the water, Mike and Mike have a knack of getting people up and riding waves successfully. They will get you into as many waves as you have the energy to paddle for. They know what they are doing and easily adjust the approach for your skill/comfort level. Ive recommended them to several friends and they always report the same thing. Its just a great experience at a great place with authentically friendly people who are great at what they do. If you are within driving distance of Seal Beach...I recommend this family-run business with the highest level of enthusiasm!

On my journey of finding to do something new and fun on a weekend, I have gained a passion for surfing. I would highly recommend M & M Surfing School for any age group. The professional instructors have encouraging and fun way of explaining what to do on your first try. My instructor was very attentive, engaging, and personable; he truly did know how to help me to overcome my fears. The younger kids, who were in the same surfing group learned how to stand on the boards from their first tries and seemed to have a blast. Its a family-owned business and they provide the best SURFice for the entire family ☺ I am definitely bringing my thirteen-year-old daughter for her first time surfing to M & M Surfing School!

I got to the beach with the intent of taking a surfing lesson as I had never surfed before. I chose M&M because they seemed professional and had good reviews. However when I asked about lessons they were rude and made snide remarks that I was trying to learn to surf. (Im an older gentleman so it isnt often someone my age takes a surfing lesson). I decided to go anyway. I struggled in the water and was continuously yelled at. I caught maybe one or two waves before I was told my time was up, despite the fact that it had been only an hour. I left feeling very discouraged and frustrated. My advice is if you want to learn to surf, go to a different place.

Fantastic. Michael, Michael & John were the greatest. Even though this was the first time I met them, I felt I knew them forever. Took lessons and surfed for the 1st time in 15 years and was up right away. I had a smile on my face from the get go and I am still wearing it today. A monumental experience - tasty waves, great instructors and the California sun - what more can you ask for.

My 13 year old son and I (Im 58) surfed for the first time yesterday.They got my son up on the board on the first try and he caught ride after ride. It took me a few tries, but they were able to get me up as well - frankly, this was beyond what I had expected! These guys were really friendly, knowledgeable, and fun-loving. A really fun experience.

My husband and son took a lesson on May 23, 2014 and he is still talking about it 8 months later. It was a great experience and Mike the instructor was awesome . My husband and son will be back for another lesson. Thanks for giving them a great day of surfing they will never forget.
