An average course, not at all what the price and snobby members make it out to be. For one, getting 8 powerades and a snickers to take on the course cost 30 dollars, that wouldn't bother me except the bartender had the audacity to give himself an 18% gratuity when he knowingly gave me two warm powerades. Then there is the cart girl situation, you go out to play and you better have had a big breakfast because you dont pass a clubhouse till you finish and the cart girl whom you see once every three and a half hours and then you get the options of five dollar ham and cheese that look like they came from a gas station. Then you have the grounds maintenance that yell at you to hurry up so they can get back to fertilizing. So overall yea two stars, if you are vacationing don't wasste your money.

Second year in a row for disappointing golf from Shipyard/Port Royal golf package. Played Barony course, in good shape and extra challenging, but the course wasnt the issue this time. The course was overbooked and we went out in between stacked foursomes. After completing 3 holes, the golf course sheriff complained we were too slow. Our delay was due to the par 3 challenge benefit for veterans, which we gladly donated to, and the extra foursomes from another course being squeezed in between our tee times. It set the tone for the rest of the round and completely ruined it for me. There was barely enough time to use the bathroom before the second nine holes. If you are looking for a rushed experience on a very challenging course, this is the place for you.

Friendly helpful staff. The courses we played were very well maintained, challenging yet fun and not overwhelming. The greens are very nice and well maintained, not over or under sized. Played the Barony course twice and Planters Row once, preferred Barony due to wider fairways. If youre a very straight shooter, Planters Row is a good course. I agree that refreshments are quite pricey. However, I found the drink cart is quite timely if one tips well ;). Also, my wife and I took a lesson from Brian Tabb and I would highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable and loves teaching golf. His lesson was very beneficial to my wife and I and the pricing was comparable to others. Everything was better than I expected and I look forward to coming back.

I have been a footgolfer for two years and recently played the new Planters Row footgolf course at Port Royal Golf Club with my dad and had a blast. The course was challenging, but very playable for footgolfers of any skill-level. There were young children and adult players on the course at the same time while my father and I were playing our round and everyone was having fun. The distances of each hole are long enough to provide an attainable, yet challenging, goal and were given very fair pars. The footgolf greens varied between flat and sloped and varied in speeds, making birdies a close call every hole. I look forward to playing the course again and cant wait to see how the course progresses over time! Keep it up, PRGC!

We had a horrible time golfing on their Planters Row course. The course should have been closed and not re opened to the public until it was cleaned up from Tropical Storm Julia. Explaining this to the pro was like talking to a little child. He made faces like he didnt believe us, I asked him to hop in a cart and take a look for himself. We also had an Unlimited golf pass and when we asked to play nine more holes he shook his head no. Thank god there was another young man there who told us we could go out on the back nine of Robbers Row. I will never spend another dime there and we take a golf trip every year and love to patronize the local courses. Not sure what was worse the course or the pro?

Here it is 2 years later and the attitude of the staff is still BAD. My 8:34 tee time turned out to be 8:55 because no one was at the tee box to oversee. Never saw a range and consequentially it was a 5 hour round. This is my first experience at Hilton Head and I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

The gentleman at the pro shop acted as if he cared less. However the men outside, the starter and cart personal were great very friendly and helpful. Thanks to them and the great work of the grounds people it made my experience great.

Hidden gem for lunch. Great service and generous portions. They are not open for dinner which is a bit of a disappointment but great for dropping in before or after tennis or golf and only a quick bike ride from the beach.
