Do you like trail running? I like trail running and when in Portland this is my go-to destination. Located only 2 miles West of the Willamette River and overlooking downtown PDX this forested and flowered wonderland is cris-crossed with silky smooth single-track. Is it flat? No, but you want a good workout so hit the hills and be rewarded with views-a-plenty. On a clear day youll see Mt. Hood - stark white with snow against a blue bird sky towering over a carpet of piney green. Run by the Zoo, Japanese Garden, Rose Garden and if youre an ultra runner head Northwest on the 30 mile long Wildwood Trail through Forest Parks 5000 acres......and bring your thumb.....youll need it to catch a ride home.

I had a playdate here for my 3 year old son and the playground structure is where we were. I know the park is huge and there were several more parts for us to see but this was a hidden gem! The only downside is that you have to pay to park but other than that its great. The play structure is huge and will keep your little ones busy, the ground underneath is the soft fake asphalt type squares so even if they fall it will be ok. We got there around lunchtime on a Wed and there were quite a few kiddies there, a sand area is also on-site so thats an attraction too for kids. We brought our lunch and ate on the benches right there and it was a fun time. Definitely recommend this park for parents.

Great place for familys. There are Ducks to feed, fishing and a nice playground. Any place that allows dogs is almost an automatic win for me. Also this place has real bathroom facilities! Love this park. Very well maintained trails, great views, and wonderful areas This was such a fun family day for us. I recommend it even for little kids. Mine had a blast just running around in the woods! A great park to take the family. The have plenty of tables and BBQ stations for parties. There is a decent sized play area for children. lace is in a good location and its nice and green. Easy to find. Fun place to go pokemon hunting

We went to the zoo early on a sunny friday and it was so busy that all of the parking lots were full according to the signs out on the freeway. We had no idea were to park since we drove all the way from Springfield. We ended up parking about a mile away in a residential area and had to hike to the zoo with to toddlers in hand. The signage in the park for the directions to the different animal areas was small and not very noticable. The animals were wonderful and since it was the first sunny day in awhile the were out lounging in the sun. The park was clean and well staffed.

The Oregon Zoo. the Japanese Gardens, the Childrens Museum, the Rose Gardens, the World Forestry Center, and so many other places pop up throughout the park. A slow, leisurely drive through the park is a great way to enjoy the view. Stopping along the way to visit the zoo or other stops will cost you entry fees, as will parking just about anywhere in the park. If there is one downside, its how little parking the park actually has compared to the number of hiking trails and places to visit asking you to step outside your car.

The Washington Park has lots to offer and a large portion of it has free parking. I found a little trail just a short ways up the hill from the japanese garden that followed a cute little stream that was easy to do with my fiance and our little dog. It connected to another bigger trail, so I was able to do the trail in a loop and see new things the whole way around. There were a lot of other dog walkers in the park and we all got along great. I would bring my dog all the time if I lived close by to the park.

This is a very cool park. Its really big. The flower garden is really pretty if you can see them in full bloom. The Japanese Garden isnt too far way from here. I personally like the Japanese Garden more than the one Seattle. Also there is a train you can get on that takes you to the Portland zoo nearby. During Christmas its lit up with lights and is a cool ride to take at night. Additionally, you can spend days hiking the trails further back in the park. There is a lot of stuff to do in this park.

Love starting at the Stearns Road Trail to the Rose Garden (on W. Burnside) and hiking the steep incline up to the Rose Garden. From there, you can hike the periphery of the Japanese Garden all the way to Forest Park. There are many hiking trails, with lots of clearings, shade cover, sun, and statuary. The trails in Washington Park never really feel crowded. Wear trail running shoes or hiking boots - your feet will thank you for it.

Parque tem muitas atividades, por isso tire um dia para fazer as principais atrações. Para se locomover é disponibilizado um ônibus circular que tem paradas especificas. Fique atento, pois algumas atrações são pagas.

The park is absolutely huge and you can easily spend a day getting lost in it. Seriously though, there are no markers telling you what is where, which if you happen to be an out-of-towner can be frustrating. If youre a runner or a biker its a good place to get a sweaty workout from pumping up and down the steep hills. Definitely a great place for a date or two with that special someone on a nice day.

Washington Park is at the south end of Forest Park and includes a rose test garden, a zoo, a childrens museum, tennis courts, a Japanese garden, an amphitheater, an archery range, a war memorial, and an expensive arboretum. Walking paths in Washington Park join the 40-some miles of hiking trails in Forest Park. In conclusion, Washington Park is an incredible resource for the Portland metro area.

Amazing jewel right in Portland. The rose garden is free, and the tremendous variety of roses is amazing. I didnt see the Japanese Garden, where an entrance fee is charged, but it is supposed to be magnificent as well. The Hoyt Arboretum is an unspoiled oasis of evergreen and Sequoia trees. The zoo is also in Washington Park. There is a free shuttle that takes visitors from place to place.

A really nice place to spend some time. Though the rose garden was under some construction it was still a beautiful area to walk around in. There is a free shuttle that goes around the park so you only have to worry about parking once. It does get busy but we found a spot down the street from one of the parking lots. We also explored the arboretum but I liked the rose garden better.

One of the best parks in the world combining natural beauty and accessibility including mass transit right to the zoo. Gorgeous trees and trails among the southwest portland hills with a world class Rose Garden and my favorite, Hoyt Arboretum which is a mature living museum of trees. A true gem worth visiting the United States for and only an hour on the train from the airport.
