My mom, her husband, myself, my husband, and our two kids (age 3 and age 9 months) came to watch Lion King this past Sunday, on Mothers Day. My 3 year old daughter dressed up like a lion, and was so excited to watch the show. My 9 month didnt really know what was going on, but loved the lights and music...and then fell asleep before intermission, as many babies do. The volunteer that stood on the first floor by the gift shop / cocktail bar area was so helpful and kind. She told my mom where the bathrooms were, my husband how to get a booster seat, and how to get to our seats. She even took our picture for us. Very nice person. But then we went up to our seats, in balcony left. Again - my kid was so excited. She kept saying "roar!" and "I am Simba!" anyway, we got to where we entered for our seats. The volunteer, here, would not allow us to our seats without a general admission ticket for my baby. (Note: I had a ticket for my three year old, and was expecting to pay full price for her). She used a walkie talkie - with people standing around, listening - and everything. Not only was this very embarrassing, as we did not know we even needed a ticket, but it was very disappointing. When an infant is required to have a ticket, it appears as though the institution is not family friendly. I felt as though I was having to decide between a show or my family. It was very uncomfortable. As we were already there, with my 3 year old super excited, we felt forced to buy this ticket. It was so awkward and uncomfortable and very disappointing. My husband went downstairs to get my baby a ticket. While he was downstairs, a volunteer came up to me and my family, (I did not see her name, she was standing farther away from me) and spoke to us while she was helping an elderly woman walk to her seat. I asked her about my baby needing a ticket, and she told me that it was Disney policy, not the Civic Centers policy to charge for infants. So I looked it up. And actually, it is the Civic Centers policy to charge for infants. Now, I understand that they are a business and have to make money, charging for tickets. But most places have become more family friendly, over the years. I can fly with my baby on an airplane, enter amusement parks, enter museums, go to movie theaters, and do practically anything that my family wants to do, and enjoy doing it - without having to pay for my baby to have a ticket. And those businesses are actually very stable and thriving. My family is a unit, and we do a lot of things together. Having to pay for a ticket for my infant to be with me decreases my likelihood to ever come to your music hall again. I feel like my family was not valued. And that was so very disappointing.

Great diverse performances. Friendly staff. Beautiful building, theater, and landscaping. Expensive to go. They overcharge I think, but also I am a tightwad so you be the judge. Parking is a pain so be sure to give yourself 15 minutes to find parking. My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner here in the Meinders Hall of Mirrors. It was perfect. Such beautiful character in a large space. They were great to schedule and organize with. Very professional.

Well, since they allow blasphemous satanic rituals to go on in their venue, in spite of thousands of people asking them not to, I dont guess the Civic Center Music Hall will be getting my $$ any time soon. I will have to seriously think twice before I spend my money there. And if you are a Christian, you might think twice about giving your money to support a place that allows satanic black masses to go on at their facility.

it was okay. the grand teir level was nice although so many different doors to go through arent necessary. chairs were comfortable. my complaint is the acoustics. sometimes the musical vocals were hard to understand due to background music. I missed alot of the "funny stuff" because I couldnt understand her words. maybe it was our seats, which I thought were good (GTL, row 3). bathrooms were clean and conviently

I am in love with the civic center. All of the seating is fantastic except the box seats on the sides. I was disappointed when we finally tried them. However, as there was open seating elsewhere, the ushers kindly found us different seating. I definitely do not recommend box seats if you have young children. Otherwise, this place is great! They have wonderful shows and its a great place to check out.

I named my third child Civic Center Music Hall, thats how much I like this place. I just wish the parking was a little easier. Id go more, but the tickets are not cheap. If only I could give up food, and living in a house, and other droll necessities of everyday life. Then I could enjoy more concerts and stuff! And this would be just the place to see them

Ive been to several plays here. Each time, Ive found that the establishment was very easy and I always had help finding my seats if I was late to a show. The outside of the building is designed to resemble the railroad tracks that used to converge here. Each of the granite walls symbolizes a track. The same design is mirrored across the road.

Recently attended an event and there was little to no organisation other than seating. It was difficult to tell where lines began or ended and that led to not making some purchases I had planned. The Orchestra itself was marvelous but I hope the management is able to put order to the flow of foot traffic in the future.

I have DJd several weddings at the Hall of Mirrors at the Civic Center Music Hall and they were all very fun! Its a huge room and at one point during one wedding, (Strong Wedding) there was not a single person sitting. Everyone was dancing! Also this venue has an awesome driveway for the perfect grand exit.

I have been to countless weddings, shows and ballets and love this building! Its gorgeous and the entire front is designed for amazing photos, but the parking is ridiculous ! Really need to figure something out for better parking. Recommend going early if you have an event here to find a decent spot.

Beautiful place! Ive sat in the very first row all the way to the top on the very last row and this place sounds great and looks great no matter where you are. You will however need your opera glasses if you are on the back row. My favorite seats are probably center orchestra about row M.

Great venue. Ive seen multiple shows here from the Lion King to Penn and Teller. The Civic Center knows how to host an event. They know how to control the flow of people, they have attendants everywhere to help with questions, and they have a wonderful area to hang out in front.

Saw Lion King here, and it was wonderful. Very nice building, close to nice places to eat. Easy parking. We were in the front row for the performance, but it seemed that every seat had a great view of the stage. Excited to come back for more shows!
