In all my years here in San Antonio , i have always drove the distance to get quality service for and a fun experience in bowling. Last night for the first time , i actually decided to go to Bandera Bowling , even after all the criticism I have heard of this place. It was raining out , i just wanted to spend some quality time with my kids after a long work week. Didnt want to drive the long distance in the rain , so i opted out for the closest 10m distant one which was Bandera Bowl. The place was crowded , and i dont mean by people and the people whom were there it was like they had all these lanes open , yet they would not space out people by a couple of lanes, which made it very hard since the lanes are made so close to each other , we kept bumping elbows , especially since our lane had 4 people and the other lanes had 6 ... I had bought a pitcher of sodas and some pizza , and was thrown out before we were done , we asked for the rails to be put up for our little one 4x and was done after an hour or so... i left my sons diaper bag there , and called the very next day but before i can finish my sentence ... the rude employee "katrina" stated it was not there before i can even describe it , i was on hold for 10m because i asked to speak with a manager and she said mngr "Jean" was to busy at the bar??? I called back because she took forever to come back to the phone and some guy named mike answered very rude as well , i explained it to him and the description and he put the phone down and katrina came back on and said they dont have it..... The service here is horrible and so is the venue , very unclean and ghetto like , and it smells in there like extremely dirty carpet , plus the smoke from the bar comes into bowling area where there are a lot of minors inhaling 2nd hand smoking!!!! They charge a lot to bowl , but not worth the environment ....take your money somewhere else!!! trust me! i had to chose a star , but really they deserve none!

Worst experience EVER!! Got here about 4, they rented out lane 36 to us. Half way through our game they asked us to move because they had previously rented out lanes 30 through 40 out to a league. We said well can we atleast finish out game & got attitude about it but tried to finish, than on 9/10, a maintenance guy comes and tells us we have to move & goes back to the front and turns off out lane. So we move out stuff, my boyfriend and his friend went to go complain and ask for atleast a free game for being so rude & impatient, so I go see whats goin on in the front & the manager walks away & goes to get my "white friend" abigail, mind you shes not even Caucasian, shes just very light completed & the manager begins to explain that the boys where rude to her and that if we come back here again and make a scene shell call the cops and ask for us to be escorted out. Her exact words where "I wont answer to anyone but you in your group because I only answer to my race , White" she was talking to Abigail. I, Rina, ask her "what do you mean race" she said "well my color , white" and I laughed & walked away because I was so mad if I wouldve said something she wouldve had to call an ambulance for herself & the cops on me. Im 21 years old & I have NEVER experienced something like this , my blood is boiling, Im actually writing this as Im here. These employees are so disrespectful & so rude. And we still didnt get nothing in return , no free game , or even reimbursed a game. I will never be spending my money here again.

, and I never had the same problems others have had. However, youll notice upon entering that they allow smoking. This is due to the fact that they do not abide by San Antonios regulations, they follow Leon Valley city ordnance. So not only does this infringe on the health and well being of non-smokers, children and the high school students that hold leagues there; but youll also realize upon leaving that youve managed to capture that smoky, old, gross smell as an all to kind parting gift. It will also stay with you way passed your shower as it takes over 24 hrs for the nicotine levels in your body to return to normal. (by the way, this also continues to the pro shop, contaminating anything made of cloth or a pores material) But there are plenty if lanes and a really cool cosmic bowling set up. So its up to you to decide whats beat for you and your family, for me, its a no. UPDATE: I recently attended a birthday party there, I was very hesitant to go, however, it wasnt as bad as what Ive experienced. The air was clear, the lanes were plentiful and the crowd was nice. Seems that if you go early enough in the day that things are alot better. But I will warn you, do not go after dark, it turns into gang land.

Short version: Pick a different alley, thank me later. Nightmare of a location aside (Bandera in the day time SUCKS), this place was not a great deal of fun. The lanes dont seem very slick at all, meaning that every slight spin took the ball across the lane, and every few frames, the lane we were on kept returning the balls very dirty. One ball came back looking like you just fished it out from inside a car, like under the hood. It was blackened and extremely dirty, likely because the equipment is either failing, filthy or both. One ball came with chips taken out of it because it had hit something on its way back. You could see the fresh-white resin (or uerethane) of the ball from the hits it had received - a lot of small knicks. If I had brought my own ball, Id be livid. Bring your own stuff at great risk. The smell that everyone complains about isnt just them - it reeks of smoke, and if youre not a smoker, its going to smell awful in there to you most likely.

PLENTY of lanes and plenty of parking. Reasonable prices and the lanes all worked flawlessly. They have hourly rates as well as rates per person per game played- figure out which is more cost effective for you. Shoes could probably use replacing as they are quite worn out. Bowling balls are just like every other bowling alley i have ever been to - not the best in the world and well worn. They have a bar and also a food counter for typical fried food and bowling alley burgers - YUM! You have to admit you crave this from time to time! The alley is smoke free EXCEPT for the bar and you can def smell it when you walk in the front doors of the alley. But this shouldnt affect your overall visit. If the location is convenient to you and you dont want to fight the crowds and wait for a lane, this is the place for you. I will return for sure.
