The $20 admission covers the hiking area, zoos, and museum. Make sure you visit the mountain on a clear day for max visibility, its a totally different climate when youre that high up! Bring a jacket too as it gets very windy up there. Enjoy the beautiful views at the top once you reach the Mike High Swing Bridge. You have the option of driving up or hiking. Do the hike! The CD included with our admission provided a good history lesson as we drove up the mountain. We visited the zoo after our hike, loved the black bears area. Check them out during feeding time.

This has to have been the most beautiful place Ive seen thus far. Its been such an awesome experience, I cant wait to go back to capture some more pictures. I went up there with the hope of getting a great background for my business card and came back with the fact that I was able to overcome fear by walking back and forth across the Swinging Bridge. The staff in the Nature Reserve are so amazing I cant explain how awesome you are. So knowledgeable. So experience. They made my day. They made me want to come back. Thank you guys so much.

Lots of fun! Especially on a windy day! They do close the bridge when winds get too high but they had gusts to about 50 and were still open when we had went. They really should call it the Mile High Singing Bridge since the wind over the metal makes a very beautiful "song". And it really does swing! The winds can cause the bridge to bow in the middle slightly. The views are breathtaking, definitely worth the $$$ to see. Just be sure to call and check the weather before going if you want to cross the bridge.

Beautiful and frightening, when you realize you are at 1 mile of elevation and you see the bridge move and hear it squeak, you may have trouble getting yourself to step on to it. The views are worth it. Its thrilling too. There is a wonderful area to take photographs once you get on the other side of the bridge. The winds are strong to keep your footing and keep an eye on your children. But this is a great time, do it, enjoy it.

Fantastic place to hike if youre looking to get in some exercise. If youre taking the kids along, theres a great zoo just around the corner. The Mile High Bridge is strung across a deep but thin gorge. It sways in the wind, so if you have vertigo, this is a no-go! Once you get to the other side, please be careful! There are no fences, and the fall isnt one youd recover from. Still, beautiful view and a great way to spend the day!

Life changing!! I really loved this place!! We drove up the famous winding roads. Great view. Im scared of heights but crossed the bridge and took amazing photos. Fresh air and just breath taking. It was like 35 dollars to drive in, but you got a cd to listen to which was nice to inform you about the mountain and there were other things to do within the park. I would totally recommend!!! Breath taking!!

This was fun. The price to get into the park was a bit high, but its a nice park with lots to do. The bridge is fun. They try an make it sound like you are going to be a mile up in the air. Youre not. Youre a mile above sea level. Still, you are high up and it is fun standing in a cloud. :P

Great time. The trails were good, all levels of skill. Even a newbie like me. GREAT views. The colors are wonderful. Not a bad drive. Good CD gives you an audio tour that covers most of the grandfather mountain / mile high swinging bridge area. Gift shop is nice and reasonably priced stuff.

Stand in the middle of the bridge, lean up against the rail, enjoy the beautiful view and sway in the breeze. Located at the top, one the great attractions at Grandfather Mountain. I like to listen to the guided tour CD all the way up to the top and then work my way down from there.

Beautiful! Amazing food actually in the gift shop area, well priced. Well worth the trip, go early for the best time! Plan the day, picnic area, animals in habitats are great! The whole package for a small fee, cant beat it. The sights are better in person than in the photos.

Didnt realize that it was gonna cost $50+ to take the family up to get a couple of pictures...wouldnt have made the 5 hour, out-of-the-way drive if we had known. This listing needs to have a description added that explains these things. Pretty much ruined our afternoon.

I cant say enough about this place. Not crowded. Lots of sites to see. They give you a CD to put in and listen to as you drive up the mountain. It explains important events, attractions, movies filmed there, and history. The swinging bridge is the highlight!

Great views.. Unique features you cant experience any where else.. Bit pricey at $20/adult.. I think its the highest price state park in the state.. But it makes up for it with a zoo.. Nature museum, trails, cafe, fudge..

Most beautiful view ever! Im afraid of heights and didnt plan to walk the bridge but was talked into it. Half way I felt a wobble (it IS a swinging bridge) nearly had a mile high anxiety attack... but it was absolutely gorgeous!

Mile high swinging bridge - the name says it all! A bridge amidst clouds. Extremely beautiful. The picture below explains more than I can type in this review! Especially crowded in summers, but not chock a block.

Great place for hiking and taking in the scenery. Wear good shoes and maybe a jacket, can get windy. $20 entrance for adults, $12 for children. AAA discount. Bridge is nice and also the museum and zoo. Dont miss.

Worth the trip. Was windy. The wind can easily take your cap or snatch your glasses off your face. Bridge is a mile high, so what the wind takes is gone forever. Awesome view! $20 per person entry fee.

The views are worth going there. I am scared of heights and so is my neice but that day we both decided to beat the fear. And we did. The bridge is not as swinging as i was expecting, we both loved it.

Excellent place to spend the day with family. We did some light hiking, visited the bears at the zoo and enjoyed the view over a picnic lunch. We visited October 23 and fall colors were breathtaking.

Great strenuous hikes or easy drive and walk to a view. With the $20 cost to drive to the top if you have kids/handicap that requires special access.

Amazing views. Been here twice. Best to go when its windy and foggy, The bridge "sings" in the wind and the fog makes the views even better!

Loved it! A very beautiful experience with my family. I have two boys, 14 months and 8 year old; it was a great experience for both of them.
