Welcome to the wildest ride in the wilderness! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is one of my all time favorites when visiting Disneyland. One night a friend and I rode this coaster 8 times in a row between 11:30 and midnight. As far as coasters go, its not scary with giant drops and massive g-force. It doesnt go upside down or have any corkscrews but it is super fun! As with most Disney attractions, the ride queue is full of cool details and things to occupy your eyes while waiting in line. Once your one the ride and I strongly suggest the rear cars on the train, you get immersed in the theme of the Big Thunder Mountain. The park has recently done some upgrades to the ride too and they have made it an even better experience than before. I got my mom of later years to finally agree to ride this attraction this year. It was her very first time to Disneyland in her whole life and she was very apprehensive about the rides. After we got off and were headed out to meet up with our party, she says. "lets do that again"! I was stoopified and elated at the same time. She liked it so much that she wanted to ride again and so we did. When you visit Disneyland, you will definitely want to make time to ride the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It is well worth it. Have fun and thanks for reading.

One of the older rides in the park and a favorite from my childhood. The story of the ride was that there was a mining town that was cursed by the Native Americans. A flash flood hit the town and it was abandoned. A miner came upon a train car moving in its own and jumped on. When he finished his uncontrolled ride he had handfuls of gold. Now for the last 37 years you too can take a wild ride on a miners possessed train. There arent huge drops like traditional roller coasters. This is more hair pin turns and small drops and fast speeds. Its still a roller coaster but even the younger set can enjoy it. Its filled with the theming that Disney excels at. All of the little touches are in place that make you feel like you are racing around a mountain in the Southwest. This is another ride that demands you try to get a fast pass days in advance. I was able to secure one of the last ones of the day at 11 pm in the hotel room. I strongly suggest you book even earlier that. On the day I went waits for the ride were typically over two hours. the fast pass got me through the ride in about half an hour.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, as of early 2017, is my favorite Mine Train coaster Ive ridden. This ride is festooned with theming left and right. You dont think you are at a theme park. You think you are in a canyon, discovering many items in the mines. Plus with three lift hills, and three minutes of ride time, Big Thunder Mountain is one of the longest running rides I have ridden. This ride winds and weaves around large rocks, canyons, and tunnels. The laterals on this coaster are very strong, and though it is fairly bumpy at points, it isnt painful by any means. Also seeing how you are constantly going through rocks, the ride seems a lot faster than it actually is. The designers were impeccable with making sure every little detail was placed in, and it pays off. This ride also provides some fairly decent airtime. Overall the ride is very fun and everyone is sure to enjoy it.

Always a good ride, but not one of the best. Big Thunder is a great choice for anyone too small or too scared to go on some of the bigger rides and coasters at Walt Disney World, but it generally has quite a long wait to ride. The first tunnel out of the station is VERY loud so if you have anyone who is sensitive or scared of noises, watch out for that. Also, ride as far back as you can for the best ride possible. Protip: Try and ride during the Wishes fireworks show, it is an experience like no other in the park!

Este tren descarrilado te transporta hasta el lejano oeste, llenandote de mucha emoción y diversión. Es mejor cuando tienes fast pass porque es una de las aventuras mas destacadas de Magic Kingdom y muchas personas hacen fila para entrar

I usually spend most of my time on Pirates, Indy, and Matterhorn. Big Thunder seems to always be last on my big ride hit list. I forgot how GOOD this ride is. Big Thunder Mountain is the perfect combination of fast with a cool mining town theme. Anyone could ride it, but go during dusk and this ride looks even cooler! The new additions to the ride are pretty snazzy too. The line usually varies between 30-60 minutes, so plan accordingly. Happy riding!

This roller coaster is great! Small warning to tall riders, the legroom is tight (Im 64", 1.96m) and I had a bit of trouble fitting my legs in, but slanted sideways worked well enough. It beats the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train by quite a bit for ride quality & duration. Theres a weird hotspot in the line (queue), when youre waiting on the final ramp down to the loading area, no air moves & it gets like a toaster. Note: this does NOT affect the quality of the ride.

One of my favorite rides in the park and always brings me back to being a kid. The queue now is more interactive. Try to sit in the back of the train for the best ride experience! You most likely dont "need" a FastPass for this, but it never hurts. Sometimes this drops down to below a 30 minute wait, and sometimes it can be over an hour. A FastPass will just ensure you can go on it when you want instead of always checking wait times for when its slow.

Diversão para toda a família. Enquanto você se desloca na fila pelo interior do edifício, não deixe de ver as inúmeras ferramentas, cartazes, dispositivos, etc usados em minas no passado. Alguns dispositivos são interativos.

Its a great ride. The setup is really cool and the speed is only moderate but still enjoyable. My younger brother went on it and when he came out he wanted to go on it again. I started loving it since I was 8. Its like that for almost all the rides here. Its my 3rd favorite in the park. Disneyland always makes rides really enjoyable. I went on the one in Disneyland California. Its a better mine ride compared to others Ive been on.

Cette attraction tombe de plus en plus souvent en panne, trop longue à redémarrer, lors de mes trois dernières visites au Parc, soit 70 minutes dattente, soit attente + évacuation, soit elle ne marche pas . Bon courage !

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is not your typical mine train coaster. It has a little story too it and features a huge rock mountain that you twist and turn yourself around while taking an almost 3 minute journey around. Three different lift hills and tons of twists and turns will keep you entertained on this classic mine train coaster... Disney written all over it. Always a line. Use a fast pass.

Another classic must-do ride. I loved it, my children loved it and my mom...well...she didnt love it. But she is petrified of roller coasters so it wasnt too surprising for her to feel that way. This is not a scary ride in my opinion. It goes fast but does not have any really big hills and never goes upside down. It is based on a runaway train concept so that is just what it feels like to me.
