The music was incredible! The venue definitely made this one of the worst concert experiences Ive ever had. Initially walking in to the theatre I was impressed. I loved the open space concept, two stages, a large bar with a great local beer selection. The main stage with the sloping floor so there were no bad seats. I didnt have VIP seating so I ended up standing the whole time, which was perfectly fine - I wanted to dance anyways. I was excited and thrilled to be there, until the concert started. The open concept unfortunately meant that the people conversing at the bar could be heard by the audience at the main stage. I was willing to forgive this for the opening act, as many people talk during this portion of a concert. However, it never stopped. I moved closer to the stage to get away from the noise coming from the bar. It didnt work. It was as though I was listening to the music in the middle of Black Friday shopping at the mall. The noise visibly disturbed the performers who were doing their best to block it out. It was commented on, people were shushed, but the noise never ended. Even when the feature act took the stage the noise never ceased. Some in the audience were yelling to the bar to "shut up" when the band wanted to sing a "quiet" song. During the song, there was still some noise from the bar area including the bartenders creating shaken drinks. Ive never been so frustrated or seen such a lack of respect for the performers by the venue staff. If I were these bands, I would never perform here again, and I personally do not plan on returning or recommending this venue.

Went to see Johnnyswim on Saturday. Had not been in a while. Show was good. Bartenders were good. Only complaint is that I did not receive an itemized receipt when closing my tab. Asked for one and the bartender yelled out from the register what we had for drinks. He was correct. Now everyone at the bar also knows what we had, and I still dont know what their prices were. He could have brought me a receipt for twice the amount. Am I supposed to just take his word for it and pay up? Really strange. Maybe they just figure that everyone is hammered and wont notice. Guess I will never know because I wont be back.

This was my first time back since the renovation. What a s%&t hole! Looks like the Milestone from decades past - but the music and sound was horrible. Went to see Other People and TC for the 10th annual Thanksgiving Bash playing "Dead" music. TC was so horrible that it was embarrassing, finally had to leave when the 3rd act became a sound check debacle. I hope word gets to Dweezil Z and he chooses another venue, dont think Ill be back. I was handed a bumper sticker: "Be Kind To Other People" - word of advice: practice what you preach and learn your songs before going public!

My favorite venue in Charlotte! Ive been here a handful of times...during the day when they had the All Arts Market, and for music in the evenings. The Neighborhood Theatre has that old vibe of the early 90s Alt-Rock scene in Chicago. The place is clean, but still has that dirty grunge feel to it, and Ive found it to be the perfect setting to go and see a blues set. The most recent being Jonny Lang. The staff is friend and professional, and the bar gets busy, but you are served quickly. I hope they never change a single thing here.

I purchased a VIP ticket a couple of months ago when they went up for sale. I paid extra money for this ticket because I wanted an assigned seat. After many emails I still do not have the seat location info. There’s nothing worse traveling for an event not knowing where you will be sitting after purchasing VIP Tickets months in advance. I have tried contacting the owners and still haven’t any more info other than the email that I did indeed purchase a VIP ticket. Better off not getting a VIP ticket from The Neighborhood Theatre.

This place is old. And that wasnt a problem. The problem was how HOT it got on the floor. I had to walk out because I couldnt breath without thinking I was inhaling others sweat. There was a giant fan that cooled the place down before the crowd showed up but once that floor was filled, it was a humid mess. Also, there was no area designated for smoking area, just the sidewalk right outside the venue which got crowded and smokey. Not my favorite set up. Drinks were decently priced. Staff was friendly.

Nice place for live music. Older theatre with all the seats removed, plenty of room to move around but seating is limited to the bar area or balcony. Staff very friendly. Parking is a nightmare, but thats the entire area of "NoDa".....all the businesses suffer due to limited parking. Be prepared to park a fair distance and walk. Pay attention to No Parking Areas or you will be towed. Always had a good time and heard amazing bands there; would get 5 stars if there was more parking options.

My daughter was injured at a concert at this venue and suffered a broken neck and spinal cord injusy and they are refusing to do anything about it. The venues security carried her out of building , dropped her in the process and then left her lying in dirt in front of venue until ambulance came. They disappeared to avoid filling out accident report. This is not how a venue should handle a serious injury.

A nice music venue in the attractive NoDa neighborhood. They attract a wide variety of music genres and offer reserved seating for those who prefer not to stand (at extra cost). Roomy bar area with reasonable drink prices (but limited variety). It also has a smaller stage for less-well-known acts. There is a wide variety of nearby restaurants and taverns, as well. Check it out!

A simple, old-school venue. Not so much a theatre feel anymore, its very much a city-vibe, straightforward music venue with mostly standing, and limited (and not necessarily comfortable) seating. Very accessible stage, big bar, and pretty decent acoustics. This place has history, charisma and is a significant centerpiece in the NoDa district of Charlotte.

Perfect venue. Friendly staff, low ticket prices, good (if not great) view of the stage, draws a lot of great acts; I always keep my eye out for whos coming around next! Also love the location. Always a great time!! Definitely recommend this venue to all those who love live music as much as I do. Cant go wrong with catching your live music fix here

Want fantastic music and good seats in a great atmosphere? This is the place!! My husband and I attended a Corrine Bailey Rae concert here that was phenomenal... even with standing room only! They even had a place inside the theater in which you can meet the artists up close and in person. It was a truly great experience!

Love the events they get here, but dont like the "standing only" general admission. Seating is available in the balcony and there is limited VIP table seating, but both are at a premium price. That being said, Ill keep going to see bands I like! Acoustics are great and really no bad spot to be to see the stage.

Saw Sara Watkins last Friday night, what a talented musician! She played fiddle, ukele hollow-body electric guitar and acoustic guitar. With plenty of sweet vocals, it was a joy to hear her perform. Audience was courteous too, kept the crowd noise to a minimum. $8 for a beer tho, thats too much!
