I had a great experience purchasing a guitar for my wife here. I came into the store with my 8 year old daughter. I shopped around a few other local stores with her and the experience was stressful because the salesman all seemed to cringed as my daughter walked around the store thinking she may break something.(I get it, the last thing anyone wants is to see guitar dominos because of some rambunctious kid) But the gentleman at Bernunzios seemed absolutely fine having her in the store and even gave her a Ukulele to play with. Another thing I find at a lot of music shops is this sense of "music snobbery". I grew up around guitars and have been playing for many years, but there are still a lot of things I do not know. Because I was buying for my wife and it was an important purchase for us, I had a lot of questions that probably come across as elementary. The gentleman that assisted me could not have been more helpful and patient (especially given the fact that I am a horrible person and I came in right before closing time). He was so gracious and knowledgeable that I assumed he was the owner (he wasnt). This shop just has the feel of a guitar players guitar shop. Great guitars, expert and friendly staff, decent pricing, and a cool city store vibe!

We were on our way to visit my son and daughter in law near Albany when my wife told me she wanted to get me a guitar for Christmas. Ive been playing since I was twelve and still have the 1968 Guild D40 that my folks got me forty-some years ago, as well as five other guitars, a couple mandolins, ukes, a banjo etc., so she didnt feel comfortable buying just anything. I admit that Im picky. We went to shops all over the Albany area without any luck. I wanted something small and decent. Then we decided to try couple shops in Rochester on our way home to Buffalo. Bernunzios was a revelation. I picked up an Eastman parlour guitar. It was perfectly set-up, the staff knew their stuff, and the price was fantastic. Its not quite the beater guitar I had in mind (Is there such a thing as too beautiful?), but I left a happy man. The only problem was that I couldnt play it again until Christmas day. I havent stopped playing it since. Thank you Cindy, and thank you Bernunzios.

I walked in to what I believe to be a musical heaven of some sorts looking for a specific violin rosin. Not only did they have the pretty specific rosin (GoldFlex) but they also have fairly eclectic instruments out for you to play and they sound awesome. Ever play a Dulcimer? Yeah me neither but I did. I walked out of there wanting to learn Mandolin, Banjo and maybe digeridoo?!
