We saw Jurassic World at this theater. We prefer to go to Showtimes in Newburgh for various reasons like less expensive concession stand and more leg room, but we thought we d give Destinta another try after having seen rats several times running around the entire theater about 2 years ago. Our biggest complaint was the 1/2 hour of commericals before the movie started which ruined my entire mood. Not only that, the commercials repeated 3-4 times before the movie started! I went to speak to the theater staff thinking the commercials were stuck in a loop, and to my surprise there were other people having the same issue in other theaters that had come out to ask them to "fix it". I was stunned when we were told that Management made the decision of playing all the commercials multiple times!! Why? Maybe they get paid by how many times they run the commercials? That was the last straw. They want to do what they like, not what their customers like. They think it is perfectly alright watching the same stupid commericals over & over for 30 minutes without any regard for what we think. Sadly there were NO previews of upcoming movies either!?! I personally enjoy watching a few previews (not 1/2hrs worth), but maybe not everyone does. We were there for a 9:30pm show and the popcorn was cold and a little rubbery/stale. The butter dispenser is very awkward and splatters oil everywhere. I got some on my shirt even though I tried to be careful. If you have a large popocorn like we did, you cannot fit the bag under it without touching the metal piece the butter comes out from. I dont wanta metal piece in my popcorn.. All they have to do is bring the dispenser forward near the edge of the counter so you can freely move your popcorn up & down, left to right.. Its such an easy solution, but it appears its less work for them to clean the counter than the floor. 2 stars and thats only because the screen was digital and looked fine and the audio was fine. It seems they fixed the broken speakers and some of the seats that were broken. I did not see any rats either but I wasnt really looking for them like other times, since I did not want to scare my wife who is terrified of them. Also the lady at the ticket booth had major ADD, and was staring at other people on line while I was standing there waiting to give her my $ and announce the movie I want to watch. It took her about 10 seconds to look at me which felt like an eternity. Then she moved as slowly as humanly possible to give me the ticket. Behind the counter there were 2 teenage girls standing around having a conversation, and 1 guy serving everyone who was polite and pretty good at what he did. He apologized for the cold popcorn, and said it was popped 30-40min. before (I d say about an hour), but he seemed genuinely honest and straight forward. Had I known I had 30 min. of commericals ahead of me I would have waited for him to make fresh popcorn. Their popcorn is actually very good when its fresh, but I am rating the whole experience there from the ticket booth to the end of the movie. So if they continue substituting all the previews with commercials that run over and over to the point you want to shoot yourself, I will not be going back for probably another 2 years. Oh one last thing! We called before going there to confirm the time the movie started. Well it said it was $8.50 for adults after 6pm and weekends. The actual ticket price was $9.50. They have not updated the recording in years.

The last 2 movies we attended Destinta movies the theatres were dark before the showtime...no house lights or previews to light the space-just BLACK. We had to find a worker who seemed to not know how to turn on the house lights, and so he turned on the overhead fluorescent lights instead. Eventually only 1 house light came on. One. I counted about 10 lights in the ceiling and only 1 came on. HORRIBLE. This time (today) a different theatre was absolutely black again. No house lights ever-not before and not after. Many customers complained. One complained before and got no sensible answer. This is a horrible uncaring way to treat your paying customers. Its a simple thing to replace some light bulbs. Thank you. *****ANOTHER REVIEW ADDED 12/26/16:***** We went to see FENCES in New Windsor with 2 relatives tonight. We were up for the movie and up for seeing how the place has been improved, as we were told that some maintenance issues would be tended to. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED. There was only 1 house light that worked (out of 6 and that was over the front row, where NOBODY of the audience sat) in THEATRE 6...there were many cups still in the cup holders when we all arrived early-so NOBODY HAD CLEANED...and there was popcorn spilled out of its container in the leftside set of stairs. NOTHING HAS IMPROVED. There was also 2 armrests missing...only the raw metal was there, so we had to move. And by the way, the complimentary passes that we had been graciously offered never did come. This all SCREAMS of a non-caring management. I challenge you to tell me otherwise. We all are very disappointed.

I went to Destinta on May 15th for the first time in several months. The speakers in theatre 4 were blown out. It sounded like mini firecrackers were going off throughout the entire movie. Not to mention the screen was a little off centered. Just went there again today(21st) to a different theatre(7) and not only was the screen off centered again but it was out of focus. I told two employees on two seperate occasions about this and nothing changed. The third time, I went directly to the manager(Aaron) who told me he checked it out and it looked fine to him. I saw him "check it out" and he literally looked at the screen for 5 seconds and walked out. How is this guy managing a theatre if he himself can not tell if the movie is out of focus and off centered even at a short glance? Its obvious when a tiny bit of the screen was showing on the side wall and the other side of the actual screen had a black strip. Isnt the main point being in the movie business is to show your paying customers movies that are in focus, off centered and sound clear? Obviously they have lost that focus. Aaron offered me some free passes but I declined because I will never go back there again since the last two experiences were so aweful. Showtime theatres are a much better venue to view movies. Destinta is being run as if they are going out of business and there for dont care about giving their customers the movie experience they pay for. Good luck, Nick

I agree with people who said the theater needs renovations -- everything is horribly out of date from the projectors, to the sound system, all the way down to the not even as hot as a hair drier single hand drier in the bathroom (with no paper towel option). However, it was clean enough when I went today to see John Carter. The ticket was only $6.50 for a matinee and they are apparently not charging extra for 3D (although my showing was thankfully in 2D, part of why I came here). During the trailers the picture was so out of focus that I could barely make out the titles or the ratings at the beginning, and even after asking twice to get the picture focused it never improved. I suspect their projectors are so dirty and out of alignment that they cannot focus them. So no mice unlike what older reviewers said, and the popcorn was being popped when I walked in (at 12:45) and was tasty enough. I would not likely return here unless my regular theaters were only showing a movie in 3D that I would rather see in 2D.
