TOBAY is a private beach thats pretty unwelcoming to anyone outside of the Jericho-Syosset-Woodbury-Muttontown-Plainview-Bethpage-Massapequa clique (that is, unless you want to pay $40 a day to hang). For those reviewers and readers expecting an immaculate beach experience with pristine sand and palm trees and stuff, youll likely be let down. What you WILL get, however, is a far less crowded experience than at Jones or Robert Moses, some nice waterfront restaurant options, and a short walk from the tunnel to the ocean. For the past few years, most of my visits have been to Long Beach, but after coming back to post-hurricane TOBAY, I was generally impressed with their recent improvements/renovations. On the bay side, you can get your post-beach sit-down eats on at Singletons Salsa Shack or Singletons Seafood Shack, play 9 hones of mini golf for $2, or unleash your kids on the playground. The ocean sides got a decent snack bar with plenty of shaded seating, restrooms, and of course the ocean. The only oddity of all their improvements was the relocation of the outdoor showers right next to the parking lot. Even though theres four showers and an additional three foot baths, if youre laying out by the ocean, youve gotta walk under the tunnel to rinse off, then return BACK to the ocean side to change in the bathrooms. They really should either fix up the ocean side bathrooms to include showers, or toss up a few unisex changing rooms next to the showers by the parking lot... just my $0.02

I got invited to this place by my friend Tom , He said to Me you will love this place...Well to tell you the truth I did got in love with this Marina/Beach. If you love contact with nature this is the place for you!!! I enjoy the different kind of sea birds, the beach, the picnic area close to the docks, kids playground, showers, bathrooms nice and clean. I got impressed by the sunsets oh wow! I nicknamed this Tobay Marina and Beach ... " Little Paradise " every day has their unique Sunset. You can drive here too ,it has a nice Parking Lot, Restaurants and Bar. The kids had a great time at the spray park. We spent the day and hung out at the beach. The spray park is on the bayside, which is better if youre with children. If you prefer the ocean, its at the opposite side of the parking lot (separate beach). The crowds vary depending on when you go. Theres a restaurant and outdoor cafe area. The food was really good, too. It was a very clean environment overall. The best part is the short walk from the car to the beach!

Food was very good. Our waitress was terrific. BUT. Service was very slow, we were told only 1 of 2 chefs had shown up. And the bar couldnt make a mojito or a margarita because they were out of everything after a busy 4th of July weekend. Also took a long time to be seated even though there were empty tables. And there was no waitress service for the couches in the waiting area. It was a beautiful night and the sunset view was stunning.

Trash from the restaurant needs to be better contained. YouTube footage of a sick sea turtle having a bloody straw yanked from its sinus made me aware of the impact of plastic waste in our waters. To see the black straws all around the sand off the restaurants made me sick.

Great Beach! Clean, not always overcrowded. Can actually walk from the car to the water without leg cramps and passing out!!! Not that horrible treck across a huge parking lot burning the bottom off your feet!!!!! Everything is in walking distance. Love it!

***Residents ONLY*** sent to GILGO BEACH (by a very gentlemanly young man at booth on the morning of July 4th) which was very nice, super clean, lots of waves (surfers), respectful people on the beach, nice parking.

Cute beach and spray park. Not as busy as the other beaches, but thats because parking is really expensive. $20/day or $60 for the season for Town of Oyster Bay residents. $50/day for non-residents.

Took a ride with my motorcycle to the beach! They have a huge parking lot, with the bay on one side and the beach on the other willhere people surf! Very cool.
