Its a combination of a restaurant, living room, and theater - Genius! Ive always felt the whole theater experience was missing a Founders Porter and greasy burger. I actually thought it would be weird to have people walking around and serving food to the whole theater, but I seemed to get used to it as I got engulfed into the movie. I guess Hunger Games was also a good choice for this type of thing. That being said, I feel like someone would either love this place or hate this place. If youre here to watch a romantic movie with a date (which is usually the case on movie dates), I would say youll be a little bit off-put by the lack of cuttle space. Its really more of an independent dining experience. Its like the nights I spend at home on netflix eating my dinner in the dark while watching another episode of madmen on a computer monitor. I wasnt grading this on the dining experience, but I would say the food is quite good. Tater tots are a must, but food seems to go a lot quicker when youre eating and watching a good movie. Its hard to concentrate on both. I probably missed a part of the movie while I was trying to take a picture of my dishes (like I always do). Not to mention that I think I spilled some sauce on my jeans when eating in the dark - this happens on a regular basis though. The movie theater shows a select number of films and adjusts the specials on the menu to reflect the film. Nice touch, guys. Although slightly pricey, I was definitely happy with the overall experience. Its not exactly IMAX, but the novelty keeps me entertained. I was also probably drunk.

1 check-in I recently attended a screening at this location for the FX channel series - The Americans. Prior to this event I had never heard of this theatre but I immediately loved everything about it! The theatre at night is the prettiest because of the lighting outside on the building. The overall size of the place is spacious without being overwhelmingly huge. The seating in the theatres is comfortable and in twos. Definitely the perfect place to bring a date to the movies. Their is a small bar on each level from what I could see and service was friendly. The bar also definitely offered many drink options. I tried the hard cider and a Moscow mule which was a themed drink for the event that was pretty good. The food was unexpectedly good to me for a movie theatre. I enjoyed their wings with peppercorn ranch sauce and carrot slaw for my meal. Prior to the movie we were briefed on how to make food request during the film without being disruptive. Surprisingly during the viewing you barley knew the servers were there which takes skill because they are serving you with minimal lighting. This movie theatre is the next best option to my couch LOL

I think when thought…I have a great idea! Let’s do dinner just like a restaurant while watching a movie. It will just be like home. Put in Williamsburg and the hipster will love it! Love it they do. On the night we went looked like a lumberjack convention just dropped a bus load to watch a movie. But then lumberjacks aren’t sipping cocktails or PBR in hand sampling meatballs on toothpicks with Quesadilla….or do they. The secret life of lumberjacks! The theater is pleasant with comfortable seating. The code like cues to order during the movie and constant moving of waiters who tries to be as less distraction as possible while pacing the room to an OCD person is like cats with a laser light. And to that the constant clicking and clanking of silver ware while trying to watch a movie at lease for the first 30 minutes of the movie is just plain distracting. Call me old fashion. I rather just go to a movie. Grab a bag of overpriced popcorn and diabetes inducing 32oz of soda and watch the movie in peace. I can eat afterwards.

This is such a hidden gem in Williamsburg! I didnt know it existed. MY coworker told me about it and i took my family here recently for brunch. Amazing little setup, doors opened promptly. When you get to your seat, in between each two seats is a little table. The menu is there, then you have paper and pencil to write your order down. a tiny light is under the table for help during the movie, then you put the paper in this ring that the waiter comes around and takes. Obvs. before the movie starts a waiter comes over and takes your ticket and order if youre ready. We watched an old movie which was really cool. Movie quality was awesome, it was nicely cool and the food was delicious and the drinks were good. The waiters were quick and did not disturb anybody during the movie. Then when there is about 20 minutes left in the movie they give you your check so when the movie is over you are all ready to do. I cant wait to go back!

Nitehawk, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways... 1) The lobby, showcasing old VHS tapes, is a fun walk down memory lane and a unique element of their decor. 2) Ive sat in every theater and there is ample leg room (so the servers can get by) and comfy seats. Great screens and sound. 3) Early arrival not only means good seats, but you get to enjoy great videos curated to the film youre about to see. (EX: When I saw Silver Linings Playbook, clips from Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrences past films played. Before the film Chef, different food scenes were played. Etc.) 4) The food is outstanding. One of the best burgers in the city, fish tacos are amazing, caramel popcorn is great. 5) Ive had 1 bad interaction with a server there and have visited this theater many, many times. Staff is incredible. 6) They have lots of great "signature series" like Film Feasts, midnite screenings, etc. Go to Nitehawk. Go now!

This was my first time visiting a cinema that served food and alcohol and seemed to genuinely care about the films being played, so, being a serious movie lover, I was enchanted and saw right past all the things that would have made me cringe otherwise. This place is dingy, dirty, sticky, small, and hot. Its in the heart of hipster-land and reflects the style and aura of those gross human beings. My table was oily, the floors were sticky, people were rubbing up against you in the halls because of the narrow walkway, my second glass of alcohol was cloudy and dirty, which i wouldnt have noticed in the dark had a bright scene not been playing when it arrived, and the front desk staff are insufferable. I have never gone back. My wife was very disappointed as she expected, at the bare minimum, cleanliness. Alamo Drafthouse is literally a light-year ahead of these jokers.
