Ive found a new love in NYC: the Film Society of Lincoln Center. I recently went here to see Belated, a Colombian/Argentinian film part of the LatinBeat Film Festival. First off, the films offered here are provocative, thought-inspiring, intellectual and extremely engaging. Looking for a great documentary, something off the beaten trail...you must check out the films offered at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Whats more, often times the director and/or actor in the film is available after select viewings to answer questions: genius. The Film Society of Lincoln Center truly offers its patrons with a unique and engaging experience. A throwback to my college years when their were screenings on campus and guest speakers.

The Film Center features movies in two theaters daily. The movies shown here are mainly indie and foreign films. Likewise, there is different film festivals held throughout the year here which are great including Scary Movies around Halloween and New Directors/New Films festival. The Film Center offers free talks as well which is very enjoyable. Some actors/directors who have attended include Christopher Nolan, Matthew McConaughey, and Jessica Chastain.

We attended a screening of "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" at the Walter Reade Theater - the venue was clean, classy and all attendees were welcome to stay for a special Q&A session and simple reception with the film director. Tickets can be purchased in advance online through the website and picked up at the box office. I would love to come back for more screenings.

My husband and I attended a Free Summer Talk at the Film Society and were thrilled with our experience. The employees were organized, informative and professional, the theater was wonderful, and we will definitely be back. Glen made our experience one to remember with his generosity and hospitality. Thanks again to the Film Society of Lincoln Center!

Clearly, Dennis Lim is failing miserably in his role as the Film Societys programmer. Fewer and fewer non-first run features are being scheduled. There is nothing at all scheduled from August 14 to at least August 31. It is time for the Film Society to find a new chief programmer, as well as a new director.

Found it difficult to get membership information when I called to see about joining. Didnt realize until after I joined that membership pass is only for limited films. Id rather just pay for a ticket, from the whole pick of movies, first-run, more showtimes, etc.

Dont become a member. Poor customer support, little advance notice of special events, and once they take your money, they dont mind not returning phone calls. Very disappointing. I just received the November/December schedule on November 28th. Shameful.

Superior film programming, Walter Reade Theater has the best projection and sight lines in the city, and the New York Film Festival is among the best in the world. NYC is #blessed.

I love the Film Society! Great programming and events, year round! As a Brooklynite, its one of the few things consistently worth the treck uptown.
