Going to the Hillsborough Cinema was part of growing up in town. The last time I was there was to see Terminator 2 at the old location, a small strip mall with a dry cleaner, a liquor store, and a few other small shops. I heard that it had shut down and subsequently relocated to a nicer facility some time ago but only had the opportunity to visit on 10/14/11. My childhood memories are great, but this new place is far better. A smaller, independently owned cinema is a wonderful place and you can tell the owner takes a lot of pride in what he does. The lobby was immaculately clean and lovingly adorned with all manner of movie props or replicas thereof. Simply wandering the halls and looking at the treasures suspended from the ceiling or housed in glass cases was almost as much entertainment as the movie I went to see. The theater itself was fantastic. The seats are comfortable and recline to a degree, the screen was clear, and the sound system was crisp. Hillsborough has changed a lot since I moved away. Shops come and go. Strip malls get face lifts. Road construction abounds. There are times I barely recognize the town I grew up in. But Hillsborough Cinema got better.

Just had my sons birthday party there today to see Rio. Everything was so easy to set up and today went so smoothly. Our party hostess, Aurora, took very good care of us and was very helpful. The kids played video games, we sang over cupcakes at the tables in the lobby, and then lined up, got their trays of popcorn, soda, fruit gummies, and a cupcake. The kids had a blast, the parents had some down time...everyone seemed very happy! (15 kids and 14 adults) I got many compliments from the parents on what a good idea it was and what a good time they all had! I will consider doing this next year also! Thank you so much to HIllsborough Cinemas for making it a great day and wonderful memory for us!

I have grown up hanging out with friends at this theater and have watched it grow over the years. Ticket prices are pretty reasonable, though there are more and more 3D showings nowadays which bring up the price. The refillable buckets are definitely the way to go and the popcorn is delicious. The newest feature is the reclining and more comfortable "VIP" seating. These seats are only available for certain showings, but they offer a more comfortable viewing experience as well as a nice bonus of being able to choose your seating ahead of time. Not sure theyre worth the extra cost for some movies, but if the movie is one you are sure to enjoy, definitely consider it!

We went to go see DeadPool and we didnt know we selected VIP. It meant that their movie room was going to have recliner seats. Its obviously new and theyre still in progress of renovating the rest of the movie rooms too. Let me tell you, those seats are to die for! I wish I have my very own recliner chair at home, because it was THAT comfortable. You can sit all the way back on it, put your feet up and feel like youre on Cloud Nine. I enjoyed both the movie and popcorn. Well definitely be coming back. Thank you for a great experience!

At some points in the year, I take vacation days off of work to visit my parents and friends in New Jersey. When Im back in New Jersey, I come here to watch movies with my friends. This place, while more expensive than Im used to in Virginia, is pretty good. I just think that, for the price, the screens are a bit small. For example, I saw Rogue One recently at a theatre in Washington, D.C., and then watched it again here, and the screen here was about half the size, but I had to pay 2 dollars more.

As someone who has frequented theaters all over the state, this one stood out to me. The viewing experience was standard for a small theater, but I loved that there were display cases everywhere with costumes and props from actual iconic movies. It made for a very interesting pre-movie tour as we looked at displays with Hellboy, Terminator, MIB props and costumes. Ive only been here twice but on both occasions, the theater was not full and I was able to watch movies without much disturbance.

I go here a lot because its convenient. However, last time we went to a 7:15 PM show it didnt start until 7:45. Previews didnt start until 7:35. Also, the last time we went to this theater we were not allowed to see the movie advertised. The theater was shut down due to construction. You would think they would put that on their website or something. These guys are asleep at the wheel, weve had much better service at other movie theaters.

Nice, not too large cinema. Didnt seem too expensive, but they had cool decor. We went at a really off-peak time, and we practically had the theater to ourselves, an awesome change of pace. Probably because it is a smaller theater, it didnt have eardrum-crushing sound during action scenes. They had velcro-bottomed booster seats for kids. I would definitely go back.

Saw a movie in the new VIP theater. The seats are fantastic. Seats recline and have foot rest controlled by power buttons on the oversized arm rests. Lots of leg room. Best movie seats I have ever say in. Lighting effest on the walls were syncronized to enhance the movie. The Picture quality was first rate and the sound system was as good as it gets.

Hillsborough Movie Theater is my "go to" theater...easy for me to tet to...Clean, Roomy Seating...However, I do resent paying to get in and have to sit through several commercials! I wonder if the advertisers reap as much business as it costs them to put it on! Rather pay an extra $ and not sit through those commercials!

Thought this was a nice cinema. Plenty of parking, in a rural setting, and nice staff. Laid back atmosphere here. Arcade, lots of movies and showtimes and reasonably priced. We enjoyed seeing a movie at this location. It was our first time and since it is close to our family members, we most likely will be returning! ; )

The experience is nice, the theater is big and theres an arcade Ive never used, but it is affordable and the screen is really nice along with the seats and seat layout. The display of movie props throughout the hallways are really nice and cool to look at, from iconic movies like superman and predator.

Hillsborough Cinemas is my go-to movie theater. They always have a wide variety of movies to choose from at many convenient times. I also like that they have online ticketing now, as well as the remodeled two theaters with comfy recliners. Im knocking off a star because the popcorn is too expensive.

Clean theatres. Stadium seating. Purchasing tickets ahead of time is great with Dealflicks. Entry into main lobby was confusing- no one was at the front desk where tickets are sold. Three employees who were working the snacks helped us to confirm tickets and get us food.

Feels like a true movie lover owns or runs it, as there are numerous movie display cases throughout the lobby and hallway. That said the VIP seats are great but the place was a bit cold. When we complained about the heat they were very accommodating.
