First of all I would like to clear up the story tld by the reviewer crazyfox, or Ms. Fox from Skokie to all of you. She is the mother of the kid who "spilled water" and is not exactly being honest here about what happened. I know because I am the technical director in question. The group left the water running in the dressing room with the drain plugged with paper towels so it would flood the theatre. I found it while closing up the place and the water was overflowing onto the floor. This was completely unacceptable and after the 3 other instances of damage to the theatre by this group, I was ready to prosecute. Police were called, the incident was investigated and we decided to never have that group back in the theatre. Now you know the rest of the story...

I came for "Symptoms May Include" in April 2014. Its a cute little theater, no-frills, and a nice business to have around. Its very narrow, so can be tough to sit close, and the lower set of seats isnt very stadiumed, so I can imagine there being view issues, although there was no one in the row in front of me, so I was fine. Sound was good, lighting was good, the stage was pretty small and the set was barebones but it worked just fine for the show. It looks like this theater has frequent runs of interesting shows. The area is great, with lots of free parking. Theres Duffys down the street for drinks before the show, and well-reviewed places in the area for an early or late dinner (Latin American, Afghan, etc.) before or after a show.

Professional theatrical productions of quality shows. Very entertaining. We have seen many fine performances at this venue. About 125 seat house, so the stage action is up close and personal, bit that only adds to the performances. Theres always something going on in this place--Broadway and off Broadway shows, cabaret singers, comedians, and other entertainment. This theater should be on your list of places to go for quality entertainment.

The people who run the theater are verbally abusive and unreasonable. The technical director yelled at a young man outside of the theater after a performance over a spill of water and threatened to "prosecute" him. Dont come to this theater if you care about the image of Skokie and the community. I have lived in skokie my whole life and I have never been so angered by a person working for the village.

Sure, the theater has limitations. However, if you wish to see quality entertainment with local talent at affordable (actually cheap) prices, you cannot go wrong. Ive been to numerous performances there and the worst show I saw was still good, while most shows were above average to excellent. A cannot go wrong experience.

Great theatre. Nice program with variety. I saw Equus and was really impressed with the production. For a small stage it was well directed and kept me engaged. Acting was excellent.
