This theater used to be Carmike. Carmike had a fantastic Closed Captioning (CC) system that worked in every theater in the building. I have been hearing impaired nearly my whole life and now have a cochlear implant. I rely heavily on CC still, especially in movie theaters. The female manager was fantastic and she always helped me when I went to see a movie there. It was the only theater in the area that had CC and was my favorite because it was clean and friendly and was a convenient location. AMC has now taken over the theater. On April 22nd my family and I ventured up to the theater to see Beauty and the Beast. I called ahead to tell them I needed the captioning device for the show. We arrive and buy our tickets and I go to the counter to get the device and the employee says CC isnt available. After heated discussing this with the manager, we left the theater with free passes and our money refunded. I am disgusted with AMC. I told the manager to take down the handicap accessible sign they proudly display on the counter, and to change the website so people know they arent providing services for the hearing impaired. The AMC system wasnt compatible with the Carmine system. AMC took a fantastic system that worked great, and broke it. From the bottom of my heart, thanks AMC, for ruining our morning with your lies and deceit and general disregard for handicapped theater goers. Why are we less important than theater goers who are not handicapped. I am really tired of the general disregard for accessibility afforded all people under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Perhaps you should read it before you false advertise again.

Nice, clean, refreshing experience - definitely more in tune with what I grew up with versus the over-the-top Showcase Cinema de Lux theaters or bigger AMC multiplexes popping up these days. Apple Tree is smaller than most large, contemporary venues, but isnt usually as packed or busy. Seating is first-come-first-serve, so there arent reservations beforehand, and youre open to choose whichever suits you best. Prices are exceptional and refreshments are a more reasonable than most other theaters in the area (although they still arent what Id call inexpensive either). The place has an excellent, classic theater feel, and its a great casual experience to just grab a ticket, sit back, and enjoy a movie. Id highly recommend the place, and the staff are great.

This will matter to some and to others it wont. Unfortunately it will matter to everyone if one person breaks the rule with intent to cause harm. Ill never understand why a private business (especially a theater) will exercise its right to post and have a policy of "no weapons allowed." If, and it is an if, all individuals were rule abiding and then one individual goes to the theater with the intent to harm with a weapon there would no one that could give immediate help likely saving lives. The thought process is simple: Disarm the law abiding citizen and only the criminal is armed. Certainly I have a choice too and I will exercise it. I do believe this theater is less safe with their posted "no weapons allowed" signs, therefore, I give it one star.

I was very disappointed with this movie theatre. I took my little brother who is 14 to go see a Rated R movie after carefully reviewing their policies. Once we got inside, we were denied entry because I am 19 and apparently you have to be 21 to bring someone under 17 to go see a Rated R movie. My friend who is 18 also came with us with a valid school I.D. and was denied access because it was not "government issued". When asking if there was anything they could do, they coldly said no and the two employees went back to exchanging conversation. Will never attend this theatre again!

Took my 2 grandkids to see the Muppet movie..The movie was ok, nothing great.,but it definetly wouldve been a lot better if the sound was turned DOWN! It was so loud I couldnt talk to the kids and they were right beside me. Im hard of hearing and had to hold my hands over my ears.Theres absolutely no reason for this.This will also hurt the childrens hearing. I wont go back.

Ask for tap water if you dont want to pay for a drink! They give you a small cup but its free and you can get it as many times as you want. The food prices are literally ridiculous here so the annual popcorn bucket is actually a really good deal but their movie ticket prices are reasonable and the people are nice (:

Worst part was you have to stand in one line out in the cold. At best the 1st 25 people make it in to a small glass lobby with little to no heat? Bad place for ticket booths when 10 inside there is a large heated lobby? Average amenities, but clean, comfortable and fairly inexpensive.

Thanks for the summer special you guys put out for $40. I find it a much better value than my last movie going experience where it cost me $17.00 for two of us to see a film at the other theater. Well done comeback!

As most theaters the food was overprices. I expected then. What I didnt expect however, is that the food is both expensive and poor quality (stale). The tickets were priced okay though.

Local and convenient but doesnt get movies upon release (La La Land, Manchester-by-the-Sea, etc), most theatres have gone to comfortable, reserved seating but not this one.

Good theater. Been going there for 20 years. Concessions are ridiculously expensive, so sneak your own stuff in. Seats and floors are clean though
