The wife and I were all excited to go see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol2 this morning. Got to the theater and bought our tickets and 1 large soda (27 dollars). A Bit pricey but new seats and all we were not bothered. Get in the theater to our assigned seats and the video screen had a test pattern but you could hear the ads playing, so I went and told the manager. They fixed the screen and all was going good. Then the DOLBY intro kicks in and WOW it was loud. We figured it was just to show the sound dynamics of the new theater. Then the previews! I love previews! The sound did not turn down at all. Now I am partially deaf, Music to loud when growing up, Rock concerts, constant ear infections when I was young. It was so loud I could not stand it, I turn to my wife and she is crying because it was so loud. We got up after 3 previews and went to tell the management. Their response was it’s a DOLBY theater you are in and it’s got more speakers so it’s louder. We got our money back for the tickets and left. 30 minutes later and I am sitting here with my ears throbbing and tinnitus ringing louder than I have had it in a very long time. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a movie. If you go to the theater ask if it’s the DOLBY theater and make sure you are willing to put up with losing your hearing for a show.

I would like to start by saying that this theater has never been the best quality. When I was a kid I used to come here and as I got older I remember hearing about how it was getting extremely ghetto, so I stopped going and started using other theaters. This location was very recently renovated so I decided to give it a try and see 47 Meters Down on opening day with my boyfriend. First of all, we sat down and the group of kids next to us were on their phones the entire time using their flash taking pictures and making Snapchat videos. There was also a child that could have been no older than 2 watching this violent shark movie. Maybe thats the parents fault- just figured it was worth mentioning since it perfectly describes the quality of people that go there. Throughout the movie people were screaming and talking. You would think that knowing how their theater is they would have someone standing in the room or at least checking up on it every fifteen minutes to tell people to quiet down or put their phones away, but nope. I just paid 25 f***ing dollars for two tickets to listen to a bunch of people scream. Thanks.

The only Dolby Cinema in Michigan (for now)! Theres another one "coming soon" in Livonia. From my understanding, thats twin 4K laser projectors with HDR, Dolby ATMOS, and bass shakers in the seats. The other reviewer is right; it gets loud. Loud enough to make your wife cry? That depends on your wife I suppose. My wife and I have seen two movies there so far and I definitely have started checking the website every week to see which movie is playing in the Dolby Cinema. Honestly, the popcorn has been a little lackluster both times we went and the concessions were not cheap. So even though its close to my house, if I just had to see a movie thats not playing in the Dolby Cinema Id go to another one of the several theaters which are further from my house but a little newer/cleaner. In the user submitted photos section there are a bunch of pics of the renovation of this theater, which is cool if youre into that kind of thing like me.

We seldom venture to this particular theater because of distance and warnings from other folk but our favorite theater was sold out for the movie we wanted. We will never return. My husband stood in line to purchase tickets for 10 mins and when he reached the cashier she left her spot---no explanation, just left--he moved on to another register that opened. This was quite a minor issue compared to what we found upon returning to our car. A theft! We arent sure how someone entered our Cadillac without damaging the car but we are thankful damage didnt occur. We had several items taken from inside the car but not the trunk---thankfully my husband had removed his gold clubs but there was other things to take. Upon reporting the incident to management, we received very little caring or concern. Be aware folks, this parking lot is not safe despite some guy riding around in a security truck!

I go to this theater a lot. Sometimes a couple times a week or once every few months. I would say that, for the most part, the theaters and the restrooms are kept up, but, when its busy things can get sticky...the arm rests/theater floor/bathrooms. Ive never seen the bathroom look too bad, but no worse than the average. My personal opinion at theaters is that even the cleanest and prettiest still have nasty seats, even if they dont look like it. I bring a pack of steri-wipes so I feel comfortable using the rest arms.Looking and feeling clean doesnt mean it is, no matter where you go. The food/drink prices suck, but I dont know any theater that has good prices. The employees have all been very nice. A few of them are very sweet to my 12 yr old son whenever they see him. They like to discuss....movies with him.

Well the movie theater is OK but some of the games I like have been taken out for the remodel etc, the top of the roof has to be power washed witch has never been done, it has to be done like now!, is dirty, next if the seats are sticky, the floors are sticky someone please tell the staff about that, if the arm rests are sticky tell the staff about that to, yes sometimes the bathrooms are dirty, if they are please also tell the staff about them, I am sure that they will get cleaned by the staff as well. 2nd I just want this place to be back to the way it was before, not have it look like now, that is all for now that I can tell that I can say to this point 8-28-16.

All the remodel of this location did was shine up the same old trash and present it as new. On a Sunday night at 7pm there was trash everywhere, the freestyle machines were putting out flat soda, the slurpee machines were broken and the recliners in the busiest theatre were broken. Trash all over the floor in the theatre and the manager seemed to be busier making excuses than making sure my group was satisfied. Yes, we were given free passes to attempt to satisfy us, but this was the last straw at this location. John R has been a much better theatre in customer service and quality of experience for years and Ill just use my free passes there.

Concession stand prices are insanely high. The theaters are falling behind in tech. Sound isnt always the best it can be. Floors are sticky. This place used to be the premier theater about fifteen years ago but they never really kept up to date. The only thing theyve done is switched from film to digital projection and I feel like that change was made as a requirement in the industry and not out of a need to deliver a competing product to their customers. If youre around the area Id head up to the AMC IMAXX theater in Utica. I tend to only go to Star Gratiot while Im getting my car fixed.
