Intimate theater space, great location in Ferndale, but limited, awkward seating. Great for getting close to a performance. That said, the general admission shows with the seating setup encourages people to stand between seated guests until asked to clear the aisles. The staff is always busy asking someone to move out of the way. Seating along the side of the room has tiny, fixed tables a little bigger than a movie theater armrest. They create an awkward space slide into/out of, and certainly wouldnt be suited to larger guests. Other seating was more customary of a bar than a traditional venue (tables and chairs).

Like previously mentioned...this place is a serious fire hazard. Ive been to the Brew & View. Because of the ambiance, it is fun. Ive seen concerts there and that was ok. It wasnt until I attended a "Mega 80s" one weekend that I realised the dangers. There were so many squeezed into this small venue, the first thing that entered my mind was #The Station nightclub fire tragedy in Rhode Island 2003 where at least 100 people died# There is only one way in and...one way out. That was a few years ago I had that surreal experience. I havent been back since.

Place sells too many tickets....plain and simple. Went to show last night and had to stand in back with 40 other people. They clearly only care about money and not the comfort of the people there. Staff is pretty rude to be honest. People I had to stand with in back of room were clearly intoxicated and kept getting more and more drinks, one of the girls actually passed out by us. Very college feel, not what I expected. If you go, dont expect to get customer service as its not something that is practiced here.

I am really disgusted by the promotions staff at the Magic Bag that were guarding the 10+ reserved seats that no one showed up for last night at the Runaways screening. At one point of the night, a handicapped gentleman (with a cane) sat in one of these seats because the house was packed with no handicapped seating and they immediately made him get up and move.... These seats were empty all night, that is except for the 4 seats that the promo team sat in once the movie started. Shame on them!!!

I will never go back. We saw Leon Russell last Saturday night. He was great! However, the show was advertised for 8:00PM. After sitting until 9:00, The warm up group came out and played for 45 minutes. They were OK, but I didnt go there to see them. Leon Russell finally came out a little after 10:00. The show didnt end until well after 11:00. Way too long an evening. The management should go to a show at the Ark in Ann Arbor and see how it is done.

Horrible place!!! Made us stand outside in the pouring rain until exactly 8:00pm. Ive never been to any establishment that does that for a concert. Let your paying concert goers in out of the cold & rain. Like others have mentioned, staff was completely rude. Whoever owns this place, terrible management skills. Dont you think you could make more money selling drinks to people, instead of making them stand outside in the rain for an hour??

Always great for a party or concert. It can be intimate or open which is nice. Drinks are always well prepared and the floating staff is great at keeping up with orders. The only negative is sometimes the security staff can be sticklers about people standing against banisters or near the aisle. Relax, people are having a good time and not impeding traffic. Otherwise great venue.

Saw the Chris Emmerson show for my first experience at the club. I was blown away by the whole atmosphere with the band and the sound and the lights. The club also had attentive bartenders and waitstaff with a very good, and reasonably priced beer selection (especially for a concert venue). I look forward to seeing future shows at the Magic Bag.

Great venue. Great bar. Great drink service to those out on the floor during concerts. One of my favorite venues. Id recommend getting there early for the big shows because theres usually a line waiting for the doors to open and it fills up quick. For the smaller shows, youre fine to show up after the doors open and still get a good spot.

A great experience with very reasonable prices at the bar and they even let you run a tab! The whole venue was spotless, even the bathrooms. It was not what I expected for a rock venue. If I was a local Im sure I would have found parking easier but we got a spot and didnt miss any of the show. Would return here for more comedy!

Staff was really pushy at the end of the show. The band was going to be sitting and signing stuff and meeting people and staff made it seem like you either gave to be in line to participate or leave. Really annoying. The group I was with was just enjoying conversation and wanted to be left alone... Get a hint magic bag.

Was at the JD McPherson show and had a great time. The whole evening was perfect. Loved the sound and lights. The place was packed, but we could still move around and see everything. The waitress got us our drinks quickly, which was a plus for a sold out show. I look forward to seeing future shows at the venue.

Great local venue that gets a good variety of bands coming through. Ticket prices are super reasonable and you can sometimes get tickets at the door. The bar in the venue is cheap and the girls are fast with service.

Nice venue. Very intimate setting. Friendly staff and table seating which was nice. Bartender came around frequently for refills and to offer popcorn for sale. Would definitely see another concert here

The place is a FIRE TRAP.... Im sure if there was a fire half the people there would never get out. Waaaay overcrowded at the concert we went too. Sorry we will never go back.

I love this place as a venue, and have been coming here since long before the place changed owners. Simple venue, no frills, pretty good line of sight from anywhere.

Nice venue for a small concert. Losing one star because I went to a pink floyd cover band here and the audio was messed up for half the show.

Have only been here a couple times but its a neat theatre-style venue. Great for going with a small group like 5 or fewer people.

If you are over 6 feet tall do not go to this establishment. They will make you stand in the back by the bathrooms.
