Ive been going here since long before they moved into this facility in 2001. I moved away for about 6 years, moved back, and had gone approximately 4 years without visiting a movie house. I recently saw a film and was very happy to find its exactly the same as I remember it, like an old friend. Its clean, well-maintained, no young punk "riff-raff", and I feel is an overall better value than the larger chain cinemas. Sure, the concessions are still steep, but youre going to get that anywhere. They make so little on the ticket proceeds, they have to keep the lights and air conditioning on somehow. Ive started seeing regular shows here again and I feel its the best place in or around Livingston County to do so (at least for first run films), other than perhaps the quaint Milford Cinema, though they only show one picture at a time. MJR really operates a first-rate facility, because "its more than just a movie, its a big night out". When youve got to "go to the show where the good times are, its more fun at MJR". Theyve been playing that since 2001 and as much as the world changes, its nice that some things stay the same.

Had a horrible experience here the other day. Went to see Hansel & Gretel with my husband and we were turned away bc my 3.5 month old is under the 6 and under R rated policy. When i questioned the manger regarding this, she informed me it was because she might cry... as if she wouldnt cry in a G rated movie? But its ok to take a 6 year old into an R movie as long as the parent is there buying the ticket, i ask you this, who is going to scream more... a 3.5 month old who can be soothed by a bottle or a 6 year old who just watched someone get shot in the face in 3D? I have been to movie theaters all over the county and taken my daughter to movies in 3 different states and was never once turned away bc of her age. If i cant take my daughter to a movie on the off chance she might cry am i even allowed to take her anywhere else? What if she cries in a nice restaurant, will they put a 6 and under policy in effect there too? My run in with the manager Sarah left a bad taste in my mouth, my husbands mouth and all the families of the union men and women he is in MI working with.

Im not very happy with the service I was giving on Saturday. I bought tickets and asked to use my award card and he told me No, that they were going to start using another program in two weeks, okay but why cant I use my card now? I just might have something on it where I might have something free on it. But whatever. Then I go to order my food and drinks and my kids get the icee and they are like water and I ask the girl "why are they so watery" the girl at the counter said " Oh, they still taste the same." and I say again but why are like water. She said " we were busy. As there we hardley any one in line. I paid more the icee and basically got color water. Also the handle on the machine was falling off as the two kids were laughing about it. Never had a issue with this place, very disappointed with the service in both areas. I paid extra for color water, and couldnt use my award card. Very disappointed in the service that i received this week. Very expensive outing for it not to be what you wanted it to be or what you paid for.

Just terrible. We go to MJR every week, sometimes we go to Emagine. Last week we tried the new seats. Excited at first, remembering the comfortable seats at Emagine, only to be devastated when the seat would not go back to a full recline. These new seats are all wrong, ergonomically wrong for the back, shoulders and neck, especially for a shorter person. The head rest is wrong, pushing the head forward, as the shoulders collapse under, and the lower back arches with no support. I tried every way possible to be comfortable, only to be forced to cross my legs and sit up away from the back of the seat. So sad, so cheap, these seats. Not at all the same as Emagine, a cheap knock off. I noticed many others, attempting to put their heads on either side of the head rest for relief of the neck pain. My back and neck still hurt. Sad, we will not be coming back, luckily we are moving soon. MJR should have spent the money on fully reclining, top quality seats, and not listen to the salesman who talked them into buying these torture seats.

Brighton MJR is a great place to see a movie. It has wonderful stadium seating, meaning the theaters have a steep slope so you never have to look at the back of anyones head. The sound systems are great and really robust. The screens are massive (if you catch the movie within the first few weeks). Otherwise they are adequately big. ONLY DRAWBACK IS THE PATRON TALKING AND CHATTING THROUGH THE MOVIE on occasion. Once in a while I have had patrons talking and chatting while the movie is running. Some people get confused and think the movie theater is their living room. The movie theater IS NOT your LIVING ROOM. This ruins the movie experience. I usually try to go on off period showings like Sunday night after the movie has been out a few weeks; this reduces the chance the Rudes (related to the Croods) will show up.

Good theatre. Clean and efficient. Seats are comfy and the have plenty of good junk food (hahaha). I have some advice for people. One, dont bring a 3.5 month old infant to a movie. Its just common courtesy for the other patrons. If you cant find a baby sitter, then dont go. Thats what me and my wife did when our kids were infants. If this really needs to be explained to you, then you have problem. Two, nobody cares that youre in a union. Are people supposed to bow down to you because youre in a union? Please! For those of you who had a bad experience with the theatre, that stinks and Im sorry. Ive had nothing but good experiences there and continue to go frequently.

Great place to go to see a movie with friends & family. But I do believe that it is getting out dated. It is showing its age. & also I am very concerned about security in this facility. I do not see very much Tec. What measures are taken for safety & where to go & What to do for the people who are enjoying the moive. Am also concerned about someone walking in the building that might be armed . I dont see any security at the doors or any cameras. May be there is ? I dont know? What ever the future holds for expansion please consider some of these concerns. I am grateful for this facility of entertainment. Thank you for providing it. Concerned citizen. Jerry

Always have a good time here, theaters are clean and comfy, concessions typically are serviced well and are reasonable for a theater. Giving a theater a bad review because you are a failure as a parent isnt exactly how reviews are supposed to work. One time we visited this theater, a kid lit up a cigarette right as we were leaving, forcing my wife and I to inhale a cloud of his secondhand smoke. It isnt the theaters fault that common courtesy is dead, just be aware that when you are out in public, you will need to deal with other people, and a lot of them do not know how to behave in public.
