I personally love going to MJR, but given my experience on March 20th regarding your new reward program has blown my my mind. I get you guys are re-doing the whole system but why in the world would whatever amount of points everyone had on their previous rewards card be void on the spot and not be contributed to the next card starting April 4th? I personally was 20 points away from a free movie ticket and being told that all my points were void that really frustrated me and everybody else at the movie theatre at the time. You have wronged the community by doing this and should feel the need to make it right however possible. The saddest part of this all is you gave no warning when current reward cards were going to expire and were not courteous enough to have it posted throughout the building, disregarding the email that was sent out only stating that there would be a new reward system effective April 4th. That in no way stated what was going to occur with the current previous reward system/ members. "UPDATED" Tina Furchak of MJR Management has sent me a free movie ticket for being so close to my next reward on the previous rewards card. I appreciate when management cares about the community like this.

Today (February 10, 2017) I went to the Waterford MJR movie theater to see the 12:45 showing of 50 Shades of Grey. I was refused service for multiple reasons. The first being that I had my 6 months old son with me. I understand the policy of NO ONE 6 YEARS OF AGE AND UNDER allowed into a movie with an R rating. However, common sense would tell you that a child at the age of 6 months would not even understand (or care) what is going on on the screen. The second reason I was refused service was simply because I had a child. The manager refused to sell me a ticket on a notion that my son "might" cry and "might" disturb others. I had stated to him that I would leave the theater if my son did start to cry. It is beyond ridiculous that I was refused service simply because I had my son. The manager then refused to sell me a ticket to another movie (again simply because I had my son).

I mostly visit this theater for convenience, because it is located closest to my home. The theater itself is fine, though it feels like its lacking from some upkeep, and could use an update. The problems come from the location. If you are in a theater, along the outer wall, you can sometimes hear the outside traffic, since it is located right next to the roadway. Occasionally, you can also hear jets, from the nearby airport. Also, while the seating is pretty standard, it now feels sub-par, when you compare it with some of the competitors, like Emagine, in Rochester. For a slightly longer drive, we can visit Emagine, which has recliners, or cushy leather rockers (though the price is now a little higher). I wouldnt say to avoid this theater, I just think there are better options.

MJR has been our go to movie place for years. Im not a fan at all of the new pre-movie seat selection (the reason for not giving 5 stars). Twice now we have chosen our seats and ended up next to an awful family or unattended preteens who talked and giggled through the movie. Yes, I could have gotten up, found someone and complained but missed the movie and disrupted many more patrons in the process. I do like that the seats recline but its awkward to be reclined next to a stranger. The concessions continue to be way overpriced but the ticket prices are reasonable. The new bar is actually pretty awesome and surprisingly reasonable. The male bartender who is usually there is extremely nice and mixes drinks very well.

Been going for over 15 years at least & have always had great experiences. They are friendly, helpful and courteous. Prices are better than other theaters plus it is not crazy busy due to location. Its a great place to take kids for a cheap matinee & kids box at concessions w popcorn, drink and snack. They also have free movie events for kids during the summer & other events throughout the year. Its a fun & safe experience that I will continue to return to. (As a side note century bowl is next door & also has great prices & free kids bowling in summer. I often combine a fun movie & some bowling as a great inexpensive way to keep kids entertained. Especially on those stuck indoor Michigan days throughout the year)

I grew up going to this MJR so I might be a little bias, but I love this theatre. It usually isnt too crowded early in the evening or afternoon and tends to get busier later at night. The staff is always friendly and they do an excellent job keeping the establishment clean. In regards to the viewing experience, the quality of the sound and picture is fantastic and the they recently replaced their seats with large recliners. Theyve also implemented a rewards program (that saved me probably close to $50 this past summer) and an app that lets you reserve your seats in advance (which is great if you want good seats at some of the more popular movies).

The Good: Reclining seats, clean theaters, free refills - any size, good reward membership, cheap matinee prices, lots of popcorn seasoning options. The Bad: No energy drinks, no coffee, (but you can bring your own coffee in, thank you) only 2 Gatorade flavor options. A couple months out of the year they will Free Film Festival for Kids on the weekends. Kids tickets are free - $1 for each adult (get there EARLY!) Only theater I will go to!

MJR Waterford is such an incredible place to be, any day of the week. This place is absolutely jaw-dropping! The staff is great and always willing to help in any way they can, and they really keep this place looking spotless! Plus the prices on food, beverages and snacks are way better than the competitors. Bring the family or hang out with friends, either way I give MJR Waterford a solid 5 stars. I dont give those out recklessly...

The facilities are updated and well-kept, and all screens are digital. The staff has always been friendly. You can get a great deal on tickets during the day, even better before noon, and they have free popcorn on Tuesdays in the summer. Concessions are not as expensive as nearby competitors, but still pricey, as can be expected at any movie theater.

I go there with mis amigos once in a fortnight. The popcorn tastes of subtle cardboard and aspartame. Last time I went there they were OUT OF MY FAVORITE PEPSI SLUSHI I ALMOST PULLED A NENE LEAKS ON REAL HOUSEWIVES AND FLIPPED A TABLE. Anyways, I really wish I could give this establishment a 3 and 3/4 star rating, but thats not available.

I have been going to MJR Waterford for over 10 years!!! By far this is the "best" theater in all of Oakland County. Superb staff, kind, courteous and always friendly. With the addition of a bar, you can go in early, have a drink and take it with you to watch a movie!!!! Fresh popcorn, free refills on both pop and popcorn
