Lets start off by saying that going out to the movies has become quite expensive over the years. And over those years we have been to many area theaters and #mjrdigitalcinemas and #mjrwestlandgrandcinema16 are the better local ones we have been to and choose to use first over everyone else. with that said, its sad that a theater would allow a group of 9 very disruptive and disrespectful teens (aged 12-16) to stay in a movie theater. even after being asked to quiet down by several adult patrons, they continue with their obnoxious behavior, to the point that at several times during the movie other patrons got up and left the theater room to go ask that these kids be removed. its sad that as a theater you have hired uniformed security guards to roam the hallways and theater. whats even worse is that your security guards would wait and watch these kids exhibit this behavior for so long only to do nothing about it, until patrons started getting agitated to the point to removing the kids themselves or wanting a refund. and then your guard couldnt remove the kids himself... he had to go get some MJR employee to do it...... its sad that a theater would wait until HALFWAY through a movie to actually remove these unsupervised children from the theater room. its unacceptable that for myself and my wife to spend $38.75 to go view a movie series that she loves, and only get to enjoy the popcorn and drinks is crap at best. When asked for a refund of our movie tickets we were subsequently denied our request, and wasted $40+ on a night out. How bout we step up the game a little bit there MJR.... or we can go to imagine or goodrich who do not have a problem with making things right with their customers.

Okay, I took my daughter and her friend to see a movie here. It was $18.00 to get in. fine. We waited in line to get refreshments. fine. Original order- two bags of cookie snacks, one large popcorn, a medium diet soda and a water. Another $18.75. exorbitant but tine. The clerk delivered the water in the large soda cup, cold popcorn and no soda. I drank from the soda cup before I realized it was just water, so I asked for the soda I paid for. He wanted me to return the large cup of water to him so he could give me a bottle of water at an additional charge. I said I already drank from this cup. He said he needed to pour it out, crush the cup and charge me for a bottle of water. I did not see the logic here, I had already paid for a soda, drank from the received water, and he was going to dump that out and charge me another couple of dollars for water. I realize they do inventory by counting the cups sold, and cups used. I am a restaurant manager and fully understand the concept. I know they must have some kind of system to account for mistakes and such. I also realize that exceptionally inept service does not instill in your customers the will to spend another $36.75 in your establishment. -Never even got a "Oh wow, sorry" For the price of a paper cup and a few ounces of soda, ten minutes of my time explaining the circumstances, and being told that people try to rip them off all the time (REALLY????!!!!- I JUST SPENT 40 BUCKS AND I HAVE NOT SEEN ONE MINUTE OF THE MOVIE YET!) My experience was less than optimal. Will go somewhere else next time. Unfortunately, there are no negative star ratings.

An okay place. The tickets are cheap, but are gradually increasing. They have employess sweeping up the floor, but no one cleaning the counter tops, so youre inevitably bound to touch old sticky pop. They would get upset when youre sitting in a handicap seat and arent handicapped, but they wont do anything about the people disrupting the movies. Teenagers and kids are accepted into Rated R movies and then they disrupts the movie for us adults. Got into an argument with the person that takes our tickets before entering the lobby over my backpack. I came there directly from the Sec of State office, so i had a folder in my bag with docs. My bag was completely flat and nearly see through, yet they debated on me showing them what was inside. The security guard is completely rude. Went to a Rated R movie, and because i made eye contact with him, he insisted that I show him my movie ticket. Im 18 but look 21. After i showed him my movie ticket, he wanted to see my ID. It infuriated me because i wouldnt have the movie ticket if i wasnt grown. Rated 3 stars because i like cheap movies.

My husband and I go there all the time, several times a month. We go in the morning on the weekend so its never really all that crowded. The last few time we have been there have be disastrous however. It started with the cashier not being able to pay attention long enough to get me 2 tickets for my movie. He was too busy with the walkie-talkie. I told him after the 3rd time he needs to concentrate on one thing at a time. Went to concession stand for a drink and told the cashier I just would like a drink- thats all. He said "any popcorn with that?", my response was irritated but cool. Then he proceeded to offer me 2 other upsell items and thats when I lost it- including the nastiest looking cookies in a disgusting bin I have ever seen. Thats just the staff, for some reason it was like someone dropped off a busload of hood rat brats in the lobby and left them there unsupervised. It used to be a nice, quiet Saturday activity for us, but we can go elsewhere.

I have always loved MJR, the intro music before movies, the great atmosphere and average prices on concessions for a movie theater (they are all expensive lol), plus the low early morning ticket prices, make this a great place to go. My last visit I had a small issue with our pop being 100% totally flat, but one simple request to the very friendly and welcoming staff behind the counter and two fresh very fizzy pops were produced along with a sincere apology for the original flat ones. The seats are very comfortable and you have ample leg room as well as being able to lean back a good distance. Always kept very clean and tidy at this location and the staff are most always warm and welcoming from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Would have given it a 5 star rating but the snacks are just a bit too expensive (just like everywhere else though I guess). All in all though a great experience and I will always go back!

This is the peoples theater in the area. This place isnt for snobs and elitists with fancy reclining seats and whatnot, though you can get a beer or something. You go here to see a movie with the people... They clap after a series of explosions, they cheer when the day is saved, and all is well with the cosmos. The popcorn can be stale at times, the soda machine might be mixing with a bit too much syrup, and you can hear the guy behind you breathing heavy and having trouble with his nachos. He bumps your seat unintentionally when he gets up for his mid-movie bathroom break, and apologizes quietly. Someone in the back shouts the perfect one-liner at the screen during a bad horror movie, and everyone collectively dies laughing for 20 seconds as you miss some predictable dialogue. This is what a Movie Theater was always meant to be. Come here, be polite and humble, and youll be accepted into the crowd with love.
