Awesome guys... I deleted my original complaints here, but I would like to show you, THIS is a venue that cares about its patrons. Youll never find another small sized venue like this that is willing to accomidate people who love this live... music like we do.My faith in the Varsity is restored. After the way I was treated last night, the varsity management and I exchanged emails to talk about how this shoudl be handled in the future and what can be done to make this right.... we ended with this: Anthony, all of your points are valid. I will respond in order. 1) I tipped her last night out of my pocket because I felt we caused her to lose a ...tip. 2) Most importantly, I apologize for how you were treated last night. The communications you received and those we received were contradictory and your evening suffered because of it. For that I am truly sorry. 3) Feel free to e-mail me directly at this e-mail address the day of ANY show and I will get you the accurate information immediately. (on what level of laser pointer/splitter use is acceptable). 4) It will never be a Varsity Theatre policy to ban laser pointers. We will always encourage self-expression from our patrons. 5) Physical contact is never warranted for non-violent actions. This is not acceptable. I will readdress this topic with my staff. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Feel free to contact me with any other questions, complaints or concerns.

The staff are great on Game Days. We generally start our LSU football games days here, enjoying the air conditioning and the huge screen TVs playing college football until we are ready to head to the stadium. the beer selection is great and the food options (from the near by Chimes kitchens) are perfect. If its a big game, the huge space (it is a live music venue the rest of the time) can fill up, so come early.

Great venue for both music and sports. Well-known acts come in from time to time, such as Anthrax, Willie Nelson, Yonder Mountain String Band, Gwar, Anders Osborne and more. Big projection screen for big games, and they show big soccer games as well. The drink prices are reasonable. While they do not serve food you can order food from next door at The Chimes.

Went to go watch a friends band here and what not disappointed. Purchased the tickets online with no problems and checked in at the door. The bartender was nice and knew how to serve a drink. The sound system was good and I enjoyed the show. The Varsity Theatre is a very good music venue and Chimes is right next door.

Always have such a great time at The Varsity! Have attended numerous events and always have such great things to say about the venue and the staff. Management is so helpful, especially Brent, who has continually ensured that we enjoy our time and have a fun night!

I go to Anchor Chapel here. Surprisingly it works for a church environment. Unfortunately the parking needs to be larger and more convenient but guess there is no way to fix that. Have a blessed day.

Always a fun spot to hang out in. It can definitely get crowded. The acoustics are great. If you dont want to deal with the cried, you can always go upstairs.

The only negative issue with this venue is finding a place to park. Good venue for concerts if you like being able to stand close to the stage.

Good place to catch live music. Drink prices are reasonable and service is usually very good even when it is slammed.

Large dark theatre space with bar. Good for public events. Smells like beer, so not particularly child friendly.

Good atmosphere but luckily I went to an uncrowded small concert. Couldnt imagine a big one in that space.

Great place to see up and coming bands. Management has no clue how to host established artists

What a horrible venue. Kicking that dude out just for shining a light on the ground was stupid.
