We went to Odyssey Fun World yesterday and it was a lot better than the reviews here would leave you to believe. We nearly went somewhere else because of those reviews and Im really glad we didnt. This is kind of a hidden gem. Odyssey Fun World has arcade games, air hockey, and a bunch of those games that spit out tickets you can exchange for little junk toys. It also has bumper cars, a little tea cup ride, a frog jump ride, and a massive 3-story climbing structure with a ball pit, a bridge, and a slide for kids. They also have laser tag and paint ball. Its a huge cavernous building with a lot for kids to do, side rooms for birthday parties, and a big eating area. We spent the majority of our time in the climbing structure with 4 kids 2-1/2, 3, 6-1/2, and 8 years old. All had a great time. We also played a couple games of air hockey and did the rides. We arrived at 10am on Saturday morning when the place opened and were the first ones there. At 11:30 there were only a few other families. By the time we left around 1:00 it was picking up. One of the staff members I talked to commented that it would be a lot busier in the evening. My impressions: The climbing structure is fantastic. The kids all had a great time. Let me stress this. They had a fantastic time. They climbed and climbed and climbed. They buried themselves in the balls. The came down the tube slides. It was great. There is also some security around the play structure. Kids get special wrist bands and parents get matching coded stickers. They check you when you leave to make sure the combination of parents and kids are correct. So your little ones cant escape, and no one is going to run off with them. This is important because the structure is huge and at any given point in time, you may not be able to see your kid. Id say they certainly got this area right. The air hockey table we played on clearly had a weak motor and the puck didnt glide as well as you would expect, but the kids didnt notice. They thought it was great. The kids all had fun on the little rides. Let me do some debunking. While certainly not new and not gleaming, I would not call the place totally run down. A little worn - yes. There was some dust on the top of the 3rd story of the top of the climbing structure, but that would have been a real challenge to get to. Aside from that it seemed clean. The carpet was old, but again not dirty. Although it was raining, the roof was not leaking into buckets as another reviewer commented. The outside also did not look like an abandoned building as another reviewer suggested. Someone complained about the lockers. Yes, there are a limited number of lockers however they are on the other side of the building from the play area where you have to take off your shoes. Your familys shoes go in a numbered bin that matches your parent name tags. It shouldnt be possible for someone to steal your shoes. The place appears to be staffed by high school or maybe young college kids. All were courteous and on top of things. With respect to food, they have all the typical stuff you would expect from a kids menu. Pizza, Burgers, Chicken Strips, Hod Dogs, Corn Dogs, etc. Prices were not cheap but also werent at all outlandish when compared to other entertainment venues. Those expecting cheaper food need to get real. I mean seriously, youre not going to get kid-menu restaurant prices at any entertainment venue. In the food area they have a little stage with singing animal robots that come out for a song occasionally. They should probably do away with that. The robots were very old and the eyes didnt really open. I suspect that they were purchased from an old Chuck E Cheese. That was really the only part of the place that would call totally run down. ...but the kids didnt seem to really notice. So in summary, while its not Chuck E Cheese or Dave & Busters, it is a fun, safe, and clean place to take your young kids to play. They will have fun.

My kids with 2 of their friends visited Odyssey Fun World in Naperville on 12/23/13. They went because of their winter special a $15 Extreme Adventure Wrist Band; unlimited laser tag, rides, etc. They arrive & are told there is no special price, so they pay $20 each for the wristband (an extra $5 per kid = a wrist band). They go to play laser tag & have to change equipment 3 times because either the gun or vest is broken. By the time they get working equipment their time is up! I contact OFW & they make good by offering to mail out new wristbands on 12/26/13. As of today (1/16/14) I have yet to receive the wristbands. I left a voice mail msg for Ryan Jacobs, Marketing Dir last week which was never returned. I sent an email this morning asking how we can resolve the issue and this is the email I receive. NICE Customer Service. This is the 2nd time weve gone & were told there was no special price. The first we had the email with us. Unfortunately we did not have it this time, BUT the special was posted all over their Facebook page. If the Marketing Director, Ryan Jacobs communicates with customers in this manner, just think how the front line staff interact with visitors! Hi Susan, Please understand that I went above and beyond and against my better judgment in giving you those 4 wristbands. If they were in fact lost, that would be the first time that has happened in my 4 years at Odyssey. No disrespect is intended, but we did our job in sending it out here and thats all that we can do. I cannot and will not send out another gift certificate and the situation now lies in the hands of you and the postal service. There also are serial numbers on the gc to help us in instances like this, so we will make use of those. Please let me know if it turns up. Respectfully, Ryan Jacobs

AWESOME! food was great but the place could use some cleaning... I went there they had the rock-a-fire explosion I wish they would play the show more :( but I under stand Yknow wear and tear, (they acctully play the show when ever you ask) and when the show was built most of the parts where made of plastic so the show breaks easy, I bet it would work great if the show was built better. But thats not Odyssey Fun Worlds fault, and they didnt buy a cheap show either! Their show costed $150,000! most of the games looked fine to me prizes looked like a kid would love them! But the place was massive! Also they say tokens are expensive, while thats not true. Four tokens costs 1 dollar where at Chuck E. Cheese its about 1 dollar for 3 tokens, but most of the games at Odyssey Fun World do take more than one token. The staff was extremely friendly, even after asking them to play the animatronic show a million times, they werent the slightest bit bothered! Also theres Tons of running room to help your kids get rid of their energy. My recommendations to the company would be: clean the place, fix animatronics, fix broken games (the games work great now), fix the tubes (they fixed those) and thats it! I am defiantly coming back lots of fun looks like a great place for B-Days.
