I really like this theater for many reasons: number of screens, variety of movies and time slots each is available, IMAX (AWESOME AWESOME addition and only one near here that I know about), bathrooms usually very clean, and TUESDAY special pricing!!!!! Please dont ever stop that Tuesday special pricing offer...that is so awesome! Now, as to the cons, there arent many but a couple...the food stuff is super expensive (but so are most theaters) although, one observation...since you have made drinks self serve, isnt it logical that the soft drinks and the icee/slurpy machine would be all the same rather than waste needed man power at the concession stand or elsewhere in patrolling who is getting what from the self serve drink area? Seems the whole point of a self serve area is to free up personnel to other much needed areas....which brings me to my next con.....many times during daytime hours there is only one cashier in the ticket vending area and one cashier in the concessions area...that is not enough. IF the ticket machines worked correctly more often, then this problem might be highly alleviated in the ticket sales area but most of the time they are malfunctioning or out of paper which is extremely frustrating since then one still must go back and stand in the regular line (after having taken the time at the machine) to get their tickets...again, defeats the intended purpose of the self serve concept. Lastly, one suggestion: it would be extremely helpful if one could find out what screen the movie is being played on....as you are well aware, some of your theaters there are bigger than others....maybe on the website one could click on a more details button or something and it would show what theater that particular showing was playing on. All and all....mostly positives, the cons, in the most parts are hiccups that can be worked out...the foundations are there for the self serve items at least.....just gotta implement them better. As to the prices in the concession area....maybe some coupons would help if nothing else. Just my humble opinions. We are avid movie buffs and go to the theater usually about 1x/week.

First of all it was a huge mistake to go to this amc instead of Marcus that was closer to home. But I was already in the area. For you guys being located in Barrington its not all that. I mean Elgin has those comfortable seats and you guys have the seats of a school bus. Ive never been so hot in a theater. I was sweating my ass off literally sitting in one place. I was trying so hard not to move a muscle. Oh and to top it all off you guys dont have a bar? What in gods name is that all about? Stop living in 2005. Its 2016, theres hoverboards, theres people vaping on every street corner. WTF!!!!!!! I ended up leaving the movie super early because I was so uncomfortable. The only pleasant thing about this “AMC movie experience" was the Captain America cup. Moral of the story here is, stop living in 05 because of youre not going to upgrade anything, I dont see the point of paying 24$ not to mention the 30+ dollars for a popcorn and a drink. You guys are ridiculous.

HUGE theater. Ive visited here frequently and found movies playing that you wont find in other locations. As the name implies, there are 30 theaters here. Some are smaller than others, and there is a TON of renovation going on, not only construction outside on the inroads, but inside too. We saw a show yesterday in a smaller theater and were amazed that they had reclining seats! I hear they are revamping all their seating for the recliners, and our theater looked brand new. There is some construction mess on the inside, but thats to be expected. Things definitely seem pricier here, everything from tickets to popcorn/candy. But sometimes you pay for convenience. And if they upgrade all the seats to recliners, youll be comfy cozy for a few hours watching your show. Interesting to note that there are no reserved seats here. Other theaters Ive been to have reservations for specific seats, but ours was open to sit anywhere.

The temperature inside of the theater has been very poor the last 2 times I went to this theater. Last summer, I went to see a movie in the string of days in Chicago when it was in the 100s. Their a/c wasnt working, and they knew it, but still sold tickets and it was unbearable. We figured it may be warm in the lobby, but no way would it be warm inside the actual theater. Wrong! I also just went there yesterday (5/25/13), and it seems the air inside the theater shut off as soon as the movie started. By midway through, I was desperate to remove clothing :) I am usually cold all the time, so this is saying something. Shutting off ventilation or a/c is NOT a good way to conserve money, and AMC Barrington, were on to you! We used to prefer you to AMC Streets of Woodfield, but not if youre going to continue this practice. If its not intentional, get your a/c fixed!

The size of this theater has its pros and cons. Obviously, they have a wide selection of films in one location, so chances are, if youve heard mention of even smaller films they might be playing there. The downside is that the ticket price is about the highest among suburban theaters. Parking is, surprisingly not that big of an issue, and the theaters themselves are fairly clean and well kept. The screens and audio are awesome, again, thanks to your high ticket prices. So, in all I would recommend it, and if you can afford to make this your regular theater, then you must be pretty rich.

I literally live across from here so I can give a fairly honest review. I like how they are clean! Ive seen other movie theatres that have popcorn all over the floor but here they keep up very well. They show many movies and some international movies for different people. The staffs are OK,-- Nothing special. The style of the move theatre is pretty modern . They have some games which is pretty cool. Food is expensive but most theatres are like that. This place is awesome but TIME TO UPDATE your chairs! I feel like I can feel someones butt on my butt. It is getting very worn down

30 theaters! Crazy right? If you want to see a movie whether its a blockbuster or Oscar favorite they will have it. This is often my go to theater for movies that have left the majority of smaller theaters already. They also have a good offering of Indian films and fathom events. Tickets arent cheap, but the recliner seats are comfortable. I do have to say Im disappointed in AMC for making you join their Stubs program in order to get a free refill on a LARGE popcorn. The major draw is and always will be the amount of showings and movies they can offer on any given day.

I always go to this theater. I love the new reclining seating, but they had to down size the number of rooms they had to revamp the place.... they even took away the bathrooms on the west end of the theater where the theater numbers go up. NOT GOOD! They need to build bathrooms down there for young children, the disabled and those with incontinence. I cant see myself running my 4 year old down the hall and she has an accident.... then we would have to leave altogether and then I will be upset. Please put bathrooms on both ends of the building.
