I have been going to the Park for quite some years now, Ill say about 7 years. Its my favorite spot because it has my two favorite bartenders in the District Eddy and Neil. This past weekend I received an email from I believe one their promoters/workers about an event on Monday afternoon. I followed the prompt and signed up for. Basically the email said you will receive two premium drinks and access to the buffet. I would like to add that Im doing pretty well for myself thanks GOD. I arrived at the door right after 5pm and the bouncer told me straight up I dont anything about this its $20 for the long line and $40 for the short one to get in. He didnt even give me chance to show him the info. As I stated above Im a regular at the Park because I know personally a lot of their staff including Pierre. But this past Monday was way below the expectations because they had an attitude like youre there for freebies. I paid the $40, went in looking for someone in charge. They directed me to a light skinned gentleman, bald head, a little heavy set probably in his late 40s mid 50s. I wanted to understand if that email was a scam because it had all the info of the Park and it was on Event brite as well. He told me exactly this , theres nothing I can do for you have to pay to get in and heres a good card. I was speechless. Regardless of my expensive outfit and jewelry he just handed to me that stupid card for food like thats why I approached him. I will do my best to have a one on one with their upper management because thats unacceptable. They became a bit cocky and we cant let that happen because it will eventually ruin the reputation of the only good spot we have in the District.

A few friends and I went here for dinner/happy hour and we had a great time... the only mistake that we made was that we left and attempted to come back when they got the party started. Okay... about the food, since we were there for happy hour... my friend and I took advantage of the happy hour special which were the jerk wings and the macaroni and cheese and my other friend who is a vegetarian ordered a variety of vegetables. All of us really enjoyed our food. The chicken fell off of the bone and was seasoned nicely. The mac and cheese was tasty as well. The food came out piping hot as well despite the fact that they were serving up a lot of it for their happy hour. Tasted some of my friends veggies and her food was delicious too! Afterward we ordered dessert and the mini chocolate cupcakes were AMAZING! My friend ordered creme brulee and it was good but not as good as the chocolate cupcakes. And then we made the mistake of a lifetime by giving up our comfy table and chairs to leave for a few hours with the plans to return later that evening. When we returned closer to 10 or maybe 11 pm, the place was packed with a line almost around the corner. It was difficult to find a place to park and eventually we had to give up on our plans of having a good time partying at The Park at Fourteenth. Would definitely return here for the Happy Hour specials but would hang around the place to enjoy the late night festivities as well. Overall, we had a good experience here.

Great place decor wise and people wise, but the staff and doormen are incredibly rude! The bartender rolled her eyes at me when I asked how much for a glass of champagne. Ive seen the doormen completely ignore people as if they dont exist. Ill assume the club is very selective. Fine. But they look @ you and talk to you like your a piece of crap. You have the park @ 14th the restaurant/lounge and you have the park @ 14th the club. I have been for both. They are still just as rude @ the door if u go to eat but the staff is a little nicer if your dining. Im not sure if management trains them to be so rude but I think they could lighten up a little. I paid A LOT of money for table and bottle service one night and the cocktail waitress as so unpleasant and lacked service. I had one lady at the door who wouldnt even look @ me in my face when I was speaking to her. She would look around and act like she wasnt listening. Then Ive seen a few bouncers "shoo" people around like dogs...I mean for it to be such a "classy" place I think the staff seriously lacks customer service. Especially for the prices were paying. I think our hard earned money should at least entitle some respect. By the way, the food is just okay, and the drinks are over priced. Happy hour snacks and cocktails-yes. But for a full fledged dining experience? No.

We attempted to go to this night club we heard soooo much about while we were in town from NYC. We checked out the Yelp and The Instagram page which showed men is raggedy jeans and t-shirts and women wearing regular nightclub attire (skirts, crops tops, tight dresses, etc.) So we had no idea what this club considered "Upscale". My issue begins here: On arrival, we were held outside in a line for about 20 minutes for no apparent reason. The guys in front of us had on dirty Jordans/sneakers, one actually had a rip in his plain t-shirt, and a visor (yes like what you put on your head to play tennis in) on his head. They let him in because he was on some list apparently. We finally get to the front of the line, and my girlfriend who is a dressed in gray joggers, and a tight button down black shirt, was not allowed in. They said they dont do "sweat pants or sneakers really." We do not understand how men wearing ripped jeans hanging off of their asses and dirty sneakers got in, but my girlfriend wearing Joggers, not sweatpants was not allowed in. This place clearly picks and chooses who they let break the dress code and who they dont. Clearly my girlfriend was not on the exception list last night.

The owner was very condescending he was insulting I was at his establishment for a BBD album release party in order for me to get in I had to change my outfit which means I had to go buy something to put on The Establishment was not equipped for the fans the bouncers / security was awful I seen them snatch women and pull them I seen them push people to try and clear the walkway it was just unacceptable the space Justin is not equipped for a group such as BBD. When the artist was wanting to take pictures with the fans security was harassing and giving the fans a hard time the group members told them several times to let me up so I can get my picture they refused finally Ronnie DeVoe told someone to tell security to let me up and I finally got my picture no thanks to the staff of the park. Several fans have posted about this establishment now they would never return even if BBD or New Edition would be there Im only giving it a one-star because I got to see BBD

I went to a friends party shortly after it opened up and it was the LAST time I willingly went. I frequent the club scene in DC and am please with most of the selection. Its no New York City, LA or Vegas , but DC does alright. Park tries to put itself into a category in which it is NOT entitled. The "list holders" stand at the door and try to look intimidating. Why? They will have to let you in eventually. They need the money. They say they only let in "attractive" people...but Ive seen the spandex and synthetic fabric worn dresses by the classless girls and TRUST me...nothing pretty going on there. The men are old and primarily all black. I am dating a black man, but to have them stand up against the wall and make disparaging remarks as girl walk past is NOT my idea of class or style that Park so often taunts. Stay away from there. Its over priced for the typical selection of liquors and once you get in, you will swiftly walk to the left out the EXIT door.
