This has to be the best theater in the area. I grew up going there and now drive back to my hometown to see movies. The staff is great, the popcorn is the best there is, the theater is clean and the prices are very reasonable. Its positioned in heart of quaint downtown Elmhurst; however, parking isnt an issue as you can usually find plenty just across the street or at worse the parking garage (free) one block away. And free refills? Oh yes. Simply the best theater for miles and miles around.

Great movie experiences. The theaters are big and cool with good looking screens and great sounds and them being very clean for the most part. Ticket rices are comparatively cheap compared to other places, especially on Tuesdays including the concession stand where the items are cheaper when compared to competitors like, say the Cinemark Theatre in Melrose Park. There have been a few spills from the crew at the concession stand but they do there job well.

One of the last hold outs against assigned reclining lounge seats..please dont sell out!! We are last minute people and love getting there 1/2 hour before the movie and getting our middle seat, and being able to go with a huge crowd for opening nights of big movies which you cant do at the reclining seat theaters that have 30-50 seats. Also love the free refills and the old classic theater look. Best theater in the area for the money!

I love the classic cinema theaters because they are the best theaters in the world. My goal is to visit each one at-least once. I am a classic rewards member. It really benefits me because I go to this movie theater on a regular basis. I have visited at-least 6 cinema thus far and looking to visit each one in Illinois. Great seats, popcorn and great atmosphere is better than Netflix.

I like this theatre mostly because of its location in downtown Elmhurst. Its perfect for coming to after dinner or a night on the town with friends or a date. Aditionally, it has cheaper prices on tickets and snacks than most other theaters. Its kept clean and always seems to be run by a young staff; good to see a place that employs teenagers and teaches good work ethic.

Big fan of classic cinemas and the free refills on pop and popcorn is a great deal! Prices are cheaper than AMC or Loews. Screen size is large and adequate seating. Ticket attendants were professional and courteous. Theater was clean... only downfall Is the arm rests dont go up for date night. They offer a rewards program which is quite worth it.

Tickets are still reasonable. I went at 11:00 on Saturday. There were 4 people in the whole theater. Of course two of them sat right behind me. What is wrong with people?! And they were talkers. The worst! Yes, I told them to shut up. Its what I do. Anyway, I digress. The York is my favorite place to see a movie. Has been for over forty years!

My mother and sister and I have been going to York Theater almost every week for the last 15 years. The popcorn is really good and the workers behind the counter are great however the manager is the most unfriendly man I have ever seen. We see him every week and he has never once said hi or even returned a smile. Very unusal for a manager.

Beautiful historic building with inexpensive ticket prices. The tradeoff between this an Marcus in Addison is this is much cheaper and located in downtown Elmhurst where theres things to do before or after the movie, but Marcus has bigger nicer seats, better food at the theater itself, and more accessible parking.

A few of the theaters are a little cramped or old-fashioned (with the sloped floor instead of stadium seating). Its definitely not as fancy as all these new theaters, but its still not a bad little theater. I wish it was a little cheaper because it is a little more old fashioned but not really a huge issue.

The theater location is nice in that it is downtown Elmhurst and there are several good places to eat and shop. The only drawback is the seats are not comfortable. Most other theaters have made the seats so much more comfortable that recline. We were quite uncomfortable half way through the movie.

York is an incredible movie theater!!! We always have a wonderful experience. Its clean, well run and there are enough special discounts (free refills, $5 Tuesdays, matinee pricing, etc...) that make it one of the most affordable theaters for my family. We love it!

York Theater is an excellent hometown style movie going experience. Staff is mainly local kids who are friendly and the experience is top notch. Visit a local restaurant and see a movie like it were still the 1950s but with more comfort!

Great price, is located right in the center of Elmhurst, you can get a coffee nearby, or a meal. I love the old school feel of the theatre. But even though there is that classic feel, the picture and sound are modern and good.

Great Movies, Great prices. Matinee with 4 kids (Guardians of the Galaxy) with Popcorn and drinks for everyone.... Under $75.00. Also a really pretty theater and the staff is super friendly and fun! THANKS!

Nostalgic environment with current movies. Despite the old-school environment theyre up-to-date with technology. I ordered tickets online and they scanned the barcode on my phone. Super friendly staff

Good place to go if you want to see a movie and are in the area. Standard seats and while the prices for popcorn and soda are expensive (just like any theater), the refills are free on any size.
