Ease of Entry: Some customers have had issues with ticket scanning, leading to confusion about seat assignments.

OMG - when did they change this theater???????? The worst of the worst of the worst of the worst!!!!! I NEVER want to go back there again. It totally ruined my day. I felt like George Jetson entering the space age! 1st of all - not a clue what to do when we walked in. Led to a kiosk - not a clue how to work it. It just kept getting worse when I found out that you have to choose your seats!!!??? Really!!!??? I want to walk into a show and sit where I want - when did this become COMMUNIST Cinema????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Then I wanted to pay with cash - imagine that!!! What??????? Cash????????? I must be an alien!!!!!!!!!!!!! So some person told me I would have to follow her and she rang us up and forgot to credit my Stubs Card. I guess Im just out of luck. Then I go to the popcorn counter and order a small popcorn as my stubs card entitles me to free upgrades. NOT ANYMORE!!!!! I find out that they only sell the largest popcorn for over $8.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So whats the point of an upgrade if there is nothing to upgrade?????? Silly question??????or is it just me????? Then I see these gigantic man eating machines with drinks posted all over them. I have no idea what Im supposed to do. So I go back to the counter to find that you have to purchase it there and then serve yourself. If I wanted to serve myself I would drink at home!!! Then I find out that you can only get the largest drink--again no small no medium - NO ABILITY TO UPGRADE WITH MY NOW USELESS STUBS CARD THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I order the flippin pop - Bam! $6.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What?????????????? Then I didnt have a clue how to use the machine so I thought I should have just gotten water but water is probably $10.00 a bottle!!!!!!!! This is definitely NOT for me!!! Now we are FORCED to have to purchase only large sizes of everything - slammed with these exorbitant prices and we havent even entered the theater yet. We are senior citizens on a fixed income. This has just sealed our fate!!! This change is NOT for the better for people like us - only for the yuppies or people of means!!!!! Not to mention the prices if you actually want to eat there which we have no desire to do. Then you have to deal with all the traffic during the show - Im trying to relax and enjoy a movie in peace and quiet in the dark - not be distracted by people mulling about the entire time serving food and cocktails. We moved here recently because we loved this theater so much we wanted to be closer to it. Now we want to move back and never enter this theater ever ever again. I had to take an anxiety drug to calm down before I could even enjoy the show. This was supposed to be fun. We were supposed to go out and try to have a good time. NOT!!!!! 10 thumbs down!!!!!!

OK Ive only been there twice. Age of Ultron non-3D and Ex Machina. Ticket price was good. The chicken strips and fries were what I expected for the price. The drink & popcorn were also as expected. So the price was good. I liked the recliner seats, they come in sets of 2 & you can flip up the center arm. You get a snack tray that swivels in front of you so you can eat. The seats recline with a touch of a button at your hip. Plenty of room! Yes you will never have to crawl over someone to go to the bathroom, even in the fully reclined position there is plenty of space for your waitress to walk by, in fact the AMC app will tell you the best time to go to the bathroom and miss the least amount of movie. I loved the ability to pick your seat and order tickets online. You bring your phone and show them the artsy looking b/w square and they hand you your stub. You can order real food to be delivered to your seat when you buy a drink & popcorn ... which if youre a Stubs member will cost around $11 (free upgrade) for a medium popcorn & large drink, thats about standard. The chicken strips & fries were good and a large portion for around $12. This isnt McDonalds. Always expect to pay more for concessions than your ticket! If you want a cheap theater go to your local dollar show. Unless I come across something hideous in my future visits I have no idea why the rating is currently 3.2! I saw a disgruntled x-employee, some technotards & people with minimal gripes giving terrible reviews but nothing Id consider a reason not to try it. I am not sure when this COMPLETELY remodeled theater re-opened. Id say people havent found it yet. Its the only AMC all dinner theater in Illinois. And when they find it, expect prices to go up? Possibly. I would say there are two drawbacks, if youre going with more than one person the double seats are so big & divided by little end tables that its difficult to talk and if you just want to drop in spur of the moment without planning ahead you may need to plod thru picking a seat etc at the box office. The employees were nice enough. The popcorn cashier was new but her training didnt interrupt or take longer, Ive definitely waited in longer lines! There was only one person in front of me at the concessions. For both movies we walked in and were the first people to get our phones scanned & the parking was good. I guess the more familiar people get with ticketing etc the more crowded it might get? All in all I had a great time and have planned a 3rd outing already this month! Thats more than Ive gone in the past year.

In short...save your money and do not buy food or drinks there. The food is advertised as a delicious Panera type of sandwich. What you get is a lunch meat grease ball. It was comical when my wife ordered a drink and the employee whipped out a cup that a 2 liter could fill. The employee stated they only have one size....xxxxl and expensive. After finding our seats we had to deal with unexpected company. There was a man and woman already in our seats. I had showed him our tickets and the seat numbers then he whips out a piece of paper that was printed at home. The seats were the same on his paper...and my wife was kind enough to point out that his tickets were for the following night as stated on his receipt. How is it even possible for this to happen? They have scanners for pre printed tickets. Wouldnt the scanner have told them not to let this person in for this movie? After we sit down our "sandwiches" arrive. My wife bites into one and she realizes something is wrong. She had ordered a turkey sandwich and the grease ball that was given to her had some type of unidentifiable brown meat in it. She used the button to call the hostess over. The hostess could not identify the meat either so she took it away and came back with a new grease ball with "turkey" and bacon in it. I also found it odd that considering how greasy the sandwich was that they did not give us any napkins when they were delivered to us. So, I had to go back out to the lobby for those. Perhaps if I thought I was getting a deal then I would have not thought twice about this...but I had paid over $35.00 at the food order counter for 2 meals and 2 drinks. The highlight of the evening was when a drunk person was escorted out of the theater midway through the movie. I love the seats at this theater which is why it is hard to say I will never be returning there. I will continue to go back to Studio Movie Grill in Wheaton where the food is delicious and worth your money and there is usually a Groupon available for tickets.
