I have been going to Ancil Hoffman Park with my mother and sister ever since I can recall, well, recalling anything :). This is one of the best kept, beautiful and historically rich parks you can visit in the Sacramento area. Not only is the wildlife protected there but the trails offer amazing views, versatile terrain and even historical information on the wildlife locally, The herbs grown in the area and Native American tribes including there involvement in the area. AHP has amazing fishing year round as its and integral part of the American River and has many river access points. A complete top level golf course. Ample parking. An educational nature centre with tours offered in spring and summer and parks with charcoal BBQs provided on site. This place is one I have enjoyed countless times with my family as a child, my friends growing up, my children, as I am the proud parent of two myself and hopefully they will share this beautiful place with there children and there children after. Please dont miss out on the opportunity to take in all Ancil Hoffman Park has to offer. ENJOY!!
This is for the golf course. We made a tee time a week ago. They didnt tell us they were going to punch the greens and fairways the day before we were scheduled to play. They also didnt tell us that the back 9 would be closed. We got there, they told us both of these things and said to play 18 holes, we could play the front 9 twice. We agreed. But found out at the turn that a local high school girls match was going to tee off right as we were making the turn. Of course, they didnt mention that either. Worst golf customer experience ever.
Had a wonderful time hanging out at the Ancil Hoffman nature center! The place once again was beautiful and the grounds were very clean and well kept! While hanging out on the American River I was pleased and very surprised to not see one ounce of litter or trash anywhere! The river was beautiful and majestic as always! Wasnt my first trip and Im sure it wont be my last! Very nice park!
The other side is better for biking. The picnic section could be cleaner. There are Golf Field, Natural Area, and Picnic Zone (large parking lot). Theres nothing to do if youre just biking. No great views on the river. Oh and this place doesnt have free parking
With the exception of the drunk bros yelling at me and my family from the fairway, this park is a dream. Acres of rolling hills carpeted in lush, verdant foliage. Access to beach, picnic tables and hiking trails. We like to hide Easter eggs here for our kids.
I really like this park. There are many nooks to discover from the wildlife preserve to several river settings to golf and wild turkeys. Keep in mind there is a $5 entrance fee, but there are some places to park outside of the park and walk in.
The park is sprawling, with lots of fun spots; huge open fields, trails along the river and perimeter of the park as well as the Effie Yeaw nature center. There is also a full 18 hole gold course!
Home of the Effie Yeaw Nature Center and Preserve, one of the best municipal golf courses in the area, hiking and equestrian trails, and access to the American River.

I spent many summer days here rafting down the river with my family. This is definitely a place for locals. Great open space and popular with the young and old.
Loved the "vibe" at this place. Friendly staff and a well maintained golf course. Lots of geese and goose poop, but the nice surroundings make up for it.
Great place to go for a walk along some easy, yet varied, trails. The views of the golf course and river are excellent, and the grounds are very clean.
I do like this place there is no playground so its not really a park but they do have a nice Nature Center and its right by the river its so beautiful
Too much golf course. Not enough park. Only quiet areas were dry riverbeds and lake beds that were sweltering. Too many loud drunks by the river too.
awesome. love coming here. I ride my bycicle, the nature, throw rocks and other nice stuff. Oh and Andres H is me this is just a different account
Very large and beautiful park. Lots of space for a picnic, near a river. There is also plenty of space for walking. Entering $ 8 per car.
Beautiful park...plenty of space...my only critique was I wish there was a playground for the kids who dont want to get in the water
A beautiful large nature park mostly even the golf course has wild animals , I saw an adorable deer napping in the shade of a tree
Been going here for the river since I was a child- for 25 years! Id like to try the golf course too....have my husband teach me!
Park is nice, right next to the river. You can play volleyball there or have a walk. Its nice if you go biking around this area
Great for large group outings with a large grassy area with picnic tables and plenty of trees for shade. Pet friendly
Love it here. My family always has a great time lots to do outdoors. It beautiful and we alway see deer.. Fun always!☺
Amazing place to walk your dog, river access, open fields, parking, and 3 mile trail for hiking. Truly a local wonder
Beautiful park, and there is family of deer living right there! I love coming here for a weekend stroll.
Thiss my first time to come over its amazing park, I love to be close to the river during the sunset.
Very nice place ,it has golf course, Indian trail and a small store and museum, plus river to swim in
Incredible!!! I love the river, the rocks, the golf course, and for crying out loud THE NATURE!!!!!
Nice place. Unfortunately the pay booth wouldnt let my friend follow me in to drop off my truck.
Great place to explore or just for a walk. Saw a beautiful tree and caught some great Pokémon.
Its a really nice park to walk my dog .but i wish dog owners would keep thear dogs on a leash.
Even on a busy weekend, you can find beautiful walking trails to enjoy in peace and quiet.
We were at picnic area, big shady trees and easy access to the river with small beach.
Lots of space. Bbq and right on the river. Paid parking though and no boat launch.
Todo esta chido ahora
Nice &Calm Weather in this month of July-Even my dog enjoying the cool river.
A beautiful park with large dog fenced in park. Right next to American river
