We have been going here since it opened about 7 years ago and have eaten and had drinks here at least 40+ times. It is not authentic Mexican however it is always VERY good Mexican/American and if you expect that you will not be disappointed. We never are... Service---Always good! Food-- tastes good, proportions are very reasonable and we usually bring some home, presentation is nice... consistent. Price is reasonable. Drinks- Margaritas are very good Americanized margarita nothing too special. Other drinks are consistently prepared well and taste good. Draft beer is AAA++ always cold and some of the best tasting on draft( get the dos equis) not a lot of choices but NEVER unhappy. Prices are definitely high for drinks. My wife gets a Cosmo..$10 small martini glass drink. :( Decor- Fun...Go to the bar area for food. Kids are always in this area(as long as it is not too late) if you have them... and it is usually lively. Lights are lower and music is playing. Everyone having a good time. Check out the big painting on the wall by the booth...What the heck is the cat wearing? And why? LOL. Area gets livelier after 5. Dining area is a little disappointing but is more suitable for groups that dont like as much noise. I wished they played Mexican music in the bar area but they dont...80s, 90s and more popular tunes. Overall this is our "Go to" place in town and we have been here for over 20 years. If Mexican is not your thing tonight then try.. Tavern at Rivers Edge---downtown 11 Water Street----downtown Front Row Pizza has good pizza.

Usually I love Margaritas but had the worst experience last night at the Exeter, NH location. Wondering if they changed management? Ordered the Quesadilla Extravaganza and they brought my husbands she sons entrees before mine and said mine would be right out. Well, it was taking forever when the GM finally came over and apologized saying that what happened was they made the wrong thing and had to redo it and that my entree would be on him which I appreciated. When they finally brought my quesadilla, it was awful! Dry, overcooked chicken and cheese inside... Missing the salsa inside and green chilies and garnished with two blobs of sour cream and sad looking lettuce. No guacamole which should have been on the plate! Mt husband and son had finished their entrees by the time they served me. Not to mention, for a Sat night, they were not busy at all! No excuses Margaritas! Wont be going back anytime soon!

Being from Texas I can say I am a Mexican food-eating junkie. I was in NH visiting my in-laws & decided to give this restaurant a try. The staff was great...thanks, Kendra! It was very clean & the decor was very authentic. The chips were homemade & delicious, as well as the salsa. The margarita was OK, but not the best I have ever had. The food was tasty, albeit a little different tasting than the "Tex-Mex" I am used to. If I am hungry for Mexican food the next time I am in Exeter, I will definitely come again. Overall, it was a good experience!

Decent Mexican food for New England. Salsa is mostly tomato based with crushed red pepper providing the"heat". Staff is friendly. Service was good - but slow at times despite not being overly busy. The black beans were surprisingly good. Bit of a mix between broth based black beans and refried beans. Guacamole did stand out. It is fresh and flavorful - missing jalapeno. As a matter of fact the entire meal was missing jalapeno. Overall decent food at a decent price.

Ok... Where do I start..... Well, first of all, our chips were cold. So was our guac. Fresh guacamole... Really?? The silverware looked like it had not been washed for ages, and all of the silverware was in the same state. The burrito I had wasn`t very appetizing, and was overdone. Very.. Lousiest Mexican resturant I have ever been to. Never again... Never again. Save yourself. Dont eat here....

Came here for a work event. Close to our hotel so we walked. We all had flown in from various locations 5 of us. After 4 drinks we are told we could not stay, it was company policy. We had dinner before we came, very quite group talking about work. Waitress was great, Shea. Not sure if it is spelled correctly.

This resturant anywhere its located has terrible food, terrible portions (especially at lunch) and WAY overpriced. Draft beer is draft beer but youll have to pay $5 for a 12 oz. I want to start a mexican resturant chain just to put them out of business. (although free tortilla chips earn them the one star)

Service was mediocre, had to ask for plate to prepare fajitas. Tortillas didnt arrive with meal and were dry. Food was lousy. Chicken way overcooked, vegetables undercooked, everything bland. Got charged 6 dollars for a single scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Had dinner at the Exeter location in 7/17. Good service but I could hear a woman yelling from the kitchen over the music . The best part of my experience was the smile from the dish person who was wearing the funny shirt at least that guy seemed to be happy

Quality Mexican food is hard to find. Margaritas is a good local chain choice, and of course their drink selection is hard to beat. My experience has been the food is consistantly good, the staff friendly and the prices not bad for what you get.

Their menu and food quality is much better than it was 7 or so years ago! Taco salad and chicken with some type of lime sauce are my favs so far. Good service for the most part too!

Cant go wrong with Margs. We go there probably once a week. The guac is fantastic. Grab a Tios super burrito , Aztec shrimp quesadillas or the enchiladas muchacha...our favs.

If you like authentic Mexican food you will be disappointed. Service Is usually pretty good but if you know Mexican food it likely won't be a great meal.
