We are here several times a year for family gatherings. Located on the Hillsborough River, not too far north of downtown Tampa, & very close to I-275,, this park is ACROSS the street from Lowry Park Zoo. Shelters can be reserved from the City of Tampa for a small fee, but inconveniently NOT online - you have to visit their office on Columbus near Himes. This is the only reason I give this park 4 stars - its 2015, it should be easier to reserve a shelter! Weve been in many different shelters throughout the park, and all have been a great size for our large family. You can look online to see how big each shelter is, including number of tables & location within the park, which is helpful for reserving a shelter. Except, as Ive mentioned, not being able to actually reserve online. Bathrooms are hit or miss here. The last time we were here, the bathroom by the large playground was fairly clean, but today it was not. The park has two great playgrounds, plus a boat ramp, and a dock, so theres really something for everyone, right on the Hillsborough River in urban Tampa!

Love this park, so does my two year old. Great place to go for a walk or a family picnic as there are plenty of picnic tables. There are several different playgrounds for the kids and its an awesome park for birthday parties too. We had our sons 1st birthday here and we were able to reserve a covered area with tables and benches right next to a playground. Lowry Park Zoo is right across the street and its also a place I recommend checking out, its a really nice zoo.

Excellent zoo though admission price is slightly high IMO. Nice variety of animals all in humane enclosures. Great place to take the kids. Plenty of places to eat in the park and beautiful picnic grounds surrounding if you want to bring your own food (which I would suggest if you have any dietary restrictions, Kosher, Halal, Vegan etc...). A Tampa tradition for well over 50 yrs.

Great park with lots of trees and good shade! Theres a little trail you can walk on, many benches (great place for a picnic) and a huge pavilion with lots of seating. Theres two playground areas with lots for the kids to do and seating nearby so I can actually sit close by and watch them play. It is an older playground but everything is in great working and safe condition. *****

Its not the largest zoo you might find and it is located in an odd location in Tampa but it is finely designed with unique animal exhibits that makes the viewing experience very pleasurable. Food vendors here is your typical theme park cuisine and I would rate it right at average, nothing spectacular or memorable.

Great family park. Three playgrounds for the kiddies, across from zoo, lots of picnic tables and areas, boating ramp and boardwalk and lots of area just for a walk. Awesome for parties and they now have a water taxi thats a boat and it carries you along Hillsborough river!

As a child, I spent almost every weekend in this park. Its been renovated and improved since then - the playground is fantastic. The trails and equipment are serviceable but need to be replaced. Its a great place to spend an afternoon in northern Seminole Heights.

Love this park . It is very clean . Their is pick up bags for the doggies if u need them. The park is well maintained. And I just love to take my two dogs and walk them thier. Just awsome.

Nice place to park and put on.lot fills up quick but right around the corner is more trailer parking. Dont park in grass or non trailer spots youll get a $250 ticket.
