COOL IN SUMMER=This nature park is especially great during the sunny months because of the abundance of thick trees that shield out most of the harsh sun. ACTIVITIES SURROUND EXPLORING= Although you’re over the water, I haven’t seen anybody fishing. There actually is a large clearing towards the center which is a gathering for birthday parties (in surrounding pagodas), soccer games, and other impromptu team sports. There’s a launching area for kayaks/canoes (and rentals). And of course there’s many casual bikers as well as joggers. ANIMAL WATCHING= Of course there’s the paved trails and boardwalks, but some dirt trails shoot off from those and really put you among the trees. The best boardwalk (near the education center) borders the Hillsborough River where it becomes very easy to see many bird varieties and gators/crocs. I’ve also encountered eagles, owls, turkeys, and armadillos.

Lettuce Lake Park is a beautiful place. I went yesterday with my wife and in-laws, and everybody thoroughly enjoyed it. Theres a scenic boardwalk that meanders through a portion of the beautiful Hillsborough River - the walk on this alone provides plenty of exercise - and theres an observation tower (about 30 ft tall) to take in the sights. Theres also a paved path for cycling or roller-blading, a playground for the children, and several shelters available for parties. I absolutely loved all the wildlife; we saw a few small aligators, several different species of birds, turtles, fish, spiders, and one little cottonmouth snake. Very cool stuff! The facilities all seemed fairly well taken care of as well. If youre in the area and a nature lover, this is definitely a place to see.

This park is one of my favorites to go to. :) Every time I come here, I have a good time. The shade from the trees helps make the walks along the trails and boardwalk feel nice, even in the blistering heat. The shelters are always very well kept, and park rangers that Ive interacted with have been considerate and polite. I have yet to go canoeing, which is something Im planning on doing, but when I watch others in the water, it looks fun. I actually liked this place so much, this is where I held my wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. For anyone on a tight budget, I recommend this place; minimal decorations are needed, because the scenery from the nature of the park itself is pretty enough, and the weather is very nice during autumn and winter.

Would be perhaps the worlds best boardwalk if it werent for moderate amount of litter and human noise pollution from vehicles I guess 250 acres is not enough to insulate wildlife from extreme human noise pollution. Admission fee is $2 every day or $50 a year. Due to so much litter that takes hundreds of years to biodegrade some of which may never biodegrade the sign maybe should say no humans allowed rather than no animals allowed. However I suppose much of the litter is from upstream. A bit crowded as theres no where you can go for solitude its a popular park. Park open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. which is ok but would be nice to have longer hours for something like this

We came here with our daughter to check it out while staying in Tampa. I was amazed to see all of the trees, walking trails, play areas, etc. The park is covered in an almost continuous canopy of Oak, Pot Ash, Southern Red Oak, Slash Pine with a couple other tress thrown in to the mix. There is a walking trail boardwalk that goes around the water area which provides some incredible views. And some people brought their dogs to walk with them which is nice. The learning center appeared to be well detailed and staffed when we were there. The fee to park was $2 which isnt all that much provided how big the park is. Were looking forward to going back.

Loved this park. I came on a fairly quiet Monday morning with my baby. I enjoyed the park so much. There were plenty of things to see and the trails seemed so romantic, I could imagine this being a place to come and fall in love. I did see couples taking canoe rides out onto the lake. I even got to see an alligator, tons of turtles, birds and geckos. We played at the playground for a while, sat on the boardwalk and looked at the shells we found on the shore and climbed the tower. All very nice. There were a lot of shelters around so I imagine the park probably gets very busy on the weekends.

Mainio luontokohde. Autolle hyvin parkkipaikkoja.

This place was a pleasant surprise. I was actually planning to skip this place and head out to Clearwater Beach but went here as I had some time to kill. I really loved the place. Its a marshy area with a boardwalk from which you can see alligators turtles and a lot of birds in the wild. The entry fee is just 2$ per car. The place is well maintained and quiet and a really good place for a getaway. There are areas to barbeque, playgrounds for kids canoeing, kayaking and bird watching. There is a platform that gives you a beautiful view of the area. Loved the area altogether.

Lettuce Lake Park is a beautiful place to enjoy some of Florida nature! I always walk on the boardwalk which is really nice but they do also have a nice paved path! The observation tower offers a beautiful view of the river and often ospreys flying over the water! Keep your eyes open while on the paths looking for the wildlife. In my past visits I have viewed many different types of birds, snakes, alligators, etc. Dont forget to stop into the visitor center to see the displays and learn more about the park! It is a great park to get away from the city and relax!

This is a stunning park with a long quiet boardwalk surrounded by water and so many greens trees and plants. We saw two alligators, a rabbit, various types of birds, and a turtle swimming by.Its a great park for couples and traveling across the boardwalk will make for a simple romantic date. Its also a great park for children and families to relax, play and eat. It gives you a quiet deep countryside experience although its right in the middle of a busy Tampa area. Its a nature and sun lovers dream park. I love it and will be a frequent visitor!

Great local park for families, biking, walking/running, canoe/kayak rental, and dogs. The park offers paved paths, trails, and boardwalks to overlook the Hillsborough river. I was pleasantly surprised at how dog friendly the park was. There are doggie water fountains and poop bags/trash cans available in multiple locations on the paved walk. Bummer that you cant bring your dogs in the boardwalk, but I understand why! The park staff is friendly and even gave my poochies a treat at the entry pay station!
