The adventure and state of wonderment begin the moment you step through the doors at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The massive architecture achievement reminds me of the grand potential that resides in all of mankind. A place where the word "marvel" is justified and warranted. If you stand between the first stairs and look up while turning, you feel as if you are in another world. Every turn has a neat feature with details that were intended to be both appealing and functional. As far as the design goes, their official website has a link about the teams of architects who made it possible. Our nights agenda was to see Neil deGrasse Tyson, who is both brilliant and hilarious. I can freely admit that I was already enjoying myself just with checking out the venue. There are plenty of little shops/stops that were selling wine and beer, and the entire place was clean and well-staffed. Prices are around 10 bucks for a beer or wine, which is steep, and I was tempted to bring my flask, provided by no other than "Yelp." I get it now, LOL. Since the event we were going to was more of a talk than a performance, we sat in the balcony at the Walt Disney Theater. The theater gave me this classy safari decor feeling, with the architecture leaving no "whoa"s absent in its design. During the show we could hear Mr. Tyson clear as day, and the way the seats were positioned facilitated a clear view to the stage. My only concern is that the balcony is at a decline and the edge of the balcony does not have a guard rail. Alcohol and steep steps plus a high fall is not a good set of values. We had an absolute blast, and I can say I noticed that an outstanding venue amplifies both the show and the ambiance. I wonder if the word "amphitheater" really means amplifying the experience through the venue. Who knows, but I am excited to visit again.

Was amazed that they made my incredibly pregnant wife give up her water bottle when we went in to begin with. I asked the security guard and he wouldnt even acknowledge me about the matter. Also was impressed at the utter uselessness of pre-paying for valet which turned out to be very confusing on how to actually get your car. Some folks appeared to simply hand their ticket to a valet while others had to wait in a line. The valet parking needs way more explanations on how to obtain your vehicle once the performance is over. Every person there seemed like they were the next best thing since sliced bread (both servers/security guards, etc) and there was a paucity of racial diversity among attendants as well as servers. Really enjoyed looking at the back of the head of an incredibly tall man who sat in front of our very expensive tickets for the Don Quixote ballet. Simply seemed on so many levels a grand failure. The only great thing was the actual performance. This place needs to take the On Boarding and Customer Service course/training by Disney, then maybe it would be a 5 star performing arts center

Excited about taking my boyfriend to hear Joe Bonamassa in December, we purchased tickets in the mezzanine. Our seats and several others were blocked by the large speakers to the point we could not see most of the band! I approached ushers after more than half of the concert asking for different seats. They were unable to make the decision so in frustration we went down to the floor and found 2 seats on the back row. We spent around $250.00 missed most of the concert and ended up in the cheap seats for 3 songs. We were assured by the relations director they would make it right. They offered tickets to a Brazilian concert which doesnt compare musically or financially to what we missed out on. We suggested an upcoming concert more in line with our preference of music and to this date have not received a return message. NOTHING...... Disappointed tremendously with their lack of follow through..Doubt we will drive from the east coast again to an event at this facility.

At least 8 unrelated architectural statements form a hodgepodge of a mess of ideas in front, sides more featureless as you go towards back (including outlines of windows but not real windows), back just a blank concrete wall-- sound familiar? Yes, this is the exact same style of architecture as the "buildings" at EPCOT at Disney World.. Ever been to a shopping mall in Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo etc? Look Familiar? Front of building looks exactly like them..Except there, they dont build their concert halls to look like their shopping malls... Canvas "sails" on interior ceiling supposed to suggest a "nautical" theme. What has "nautical theme" got to do with Orlando? We are 50 miles from the nearest ocean, not on any large body of water, do not have a port. Orlando once again quacks like a duck, but because of lack of true insight and worldliness and common sense of its leaders, is no duck.

This is only for customer service... Ordered almost $400 worth of tickets on 11/19. As of 12/20 (today -- day of event) I have not received them. The customer service rep I spoke to yesterday ( no customer service number to call on Sunday) told me I should have chosen the print at home option. No solution to my issue today. If you have showtimes on a Sunday... Have a customer service number available to call on a Sunday. Seems pretty simple. If a customer calls with a valid concern. Dont tell them what they should have done when you failed to deliver something as simple as some tickets in the mail. Read a similar review to mine. Not thinking its a problem with the mail. My address and phone number are correct on my receipt. Anyway. Hoping that the will-call office can help me. Theyll have to validate my Parking as well since I prepaid that too and didnt receive my parking ticket.

So I went to see the play Wicked and it was the first time I was at the Dr. Phillips Center. Was a wonderful experience until the end of the night. I am disabled and I ended up doing the valet parking. I didnt realize that was the only way I was going to get close enough to park. Was good until I realize someone stole my brand-new Oakley sunglasses. They were on my dash when I pulled into valet and gone when I pulled out. Spoke with management but it was way bigger experience . Call first act like they were going to help me out help me find the person who took them but I never got a call back I had to keep calling back till finally the gal in charge told me they werent going to do anything for me. So I suggest the theaters awesome but dont leave anything in your car if you valet park. Not happy

We went to watch A Cinderella Story and it was great! The only reason I give it a 4 is because of the service we didnt receive at the bar. Every other staff member was great & smiled! We ordered 1 Stella Artois and a double Macallan that came to $27! Anyway, after ordering I took a drink of my beer and it wasnt a Stella. I went back to the same bartender, he didnt say anything, he just looked at me. I said, "I ordered a Stella but this taste like Budweiser, just wanted to let you know so you can fix the problem". Well, he didnt apologize, say thank you for letting me know, or can I get you the beer you ordered. NOTHING! For tickets that cost 100 dollars and drinks that are way over priced, I think I should get great service! This was my first time attending a show at this theater.
