The Paiks

This is a fun, challenging course whose yardage distances dont tell the whole story. The location also gives you a surprise for the hilliness of the course, especially the greens. The folks are friendly. Its worth playing, unless you prefer flat munis out grip and rip rounds. The 7th & 11th holes throw in some uniqueness from the blue tees as their tee shots cross reach other over a lake. #7 is particularly fun because it demands placement and carry. The#11 tee box is a busy area too. #15 tosses in a raised green that makes some spin useful. #16 throws in a challenge as it appears everything drains right towards marshes. The reputation for a demadnding putting is right on. The elevation changes may tip those on the fence to ride a cart. We liked the walk, but some might not in 90 degrees temps. Enjoy this course!

Why would anyone want to play a course that weighs in at 5889 yards from the tips with 5 par 4s under 300 yards. Those were my thoughts as my friends dragged me out to Milliken, on a day I could have been playing at Fossil Trace, a "real golf course!!! 3 hours later I was shaking my head and asking myself "what s the F just happened:!!!! From the opening approach shot to hole #1, which bounded off the green and down a very steep hill, to my 10 foot birdie putt on hole #18, which rolled 30 feet past the hole and off the green, I found my self falling in love with this quirky gem of a golf course. I cant wait to come back and try my luck again. Great course!!! Great shape!!!! Great design!!! Great fun!!!! BRAVO!!!!

This would have been a great day of golf if the staff had not patrolled the course like hall monitors. They got uptight with us when a gap opened between our foursome and a twosome in front of us. But two play faster than four. We got harassed enough that we asked the foursome behind us if they wanted to play thru and they declined because they were never really waiting on us. We finished 18 in 4 hours and 20 mins. Should not have been checked on more than once but if they dont want gaps in play then they shouldnt allow twosomes. The mad Russian left me pretty mad myself.

The staff is one of the friendliest in Colorado. This is a very short course but a lot of fun to play. A great place to work on your short irons. I typically play here 3-5 times a year. This year the greens are in immaculate shape. I like the community and farm feel it has to it. Just watch yourself on the tee box of 8. There could be some balls flying towards your way since its in the crossfire of 7 and 9. Definitely check it out and ask why its called the Mad Russian! Good stuff!

I play 60 rounds plus a year. First time at the Russian. Sorry I waited so many years to play here! Very short, but target golf at its best. "Very small" greens,a little rough around the edges. I would recommend it to everyone. Only for the strong if your going to walk. The guy who wrote the bad review is either a hack or had a bad day cause I had a blast !

Recent improvements and upgrades along with low prices and convenience makes this course one of the best golfing values around. It seems to always be in great playing condition and never that crowded. Super friendly folk and great views on the back nine complete the coups!

The club cart rushes you... I started @ 530 on July 11th by hole 6 I had the club cart following me like a puppy to clean up the greens i understand you want to go home guy... Then dont work at a golf course. Ill never go there again

Great little layout. Not long. Some real challenging holes. If the rangers would have worked with us a little, our twosome could have played in 3-1/2 hrs. Waited a combined 75 minutes to play last three holes.

Course is short but difficult due to course layout that includes sloping fairways, water, and elevated greens. Makes you plan every shot and be accurate. Course is well taken care of.

Mad russian. More like crazy communist. Terrible coarse greens under repair. Marshals telling you that you only have 10 to 12 minutes per hole. Please do not waste your money.

Well maintained local course. Funky design makes it awkward to play 9 holes so they offer a 11 hole option.
