Do not skip this review. We have so many compliments and praises to sing about the Amber Room that hopefully this review will do enough justice to have you stop by and meet the staff. After planning a wedding, it is obvious that customer service means EVERYTHING and the Amber Room Colonnade proved to be Five star. We had our wedding at the Amber Room on 1/14/2017. We chose the Amber Room because they were refreshingly different than the other 15+ venues we visited in CT/NY(many of which our friends were previously married). The amber room was modern and classy. The impressive reception room was large yet still made the wedding feel intimate. The dance floor was beautiful and spacious with a gorgeous overhanging dark bronze tiled ceiling and crystal chandelier. The absolute highlight and pleasure for us was working with Doug Polistena in planning our winter inspired wedding. He provided imaginative suggestions and options for each of our rudimentary ideas and actually enhanced our vision. They did a great job setting up our centerpieces and decorations for the wedding day. Furthermore, Doug and his staff were available and responsive to our needs. Our guests arrived to a beautiful front entrance and greeted by a locally hired valet service (which is a must during the winter). The cocktail hour was a big hit with mini grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters and other creative passed horderves. Friends and family were sincerely blown away by the reception room that included lounge furniture by the dance floor. One of the biggest hits at wedding is a new age modern “photo booth” called the Magic Mirror. I was never one for pictures but we loved the way the giant interactive touch screen mirror re-invented photo booths. Doug’s attentiveness, attention to detail, and stress free persona made planning our wedding fun and exciting instead of a chore. Doug was able to guide us when we needed help and proved to be a reliable source for recommending some great vendors. My husband and I held our wedding at The Amber Room in September of 2015. We could not have made a better choice. The venue itself is lovely – with beautiful, well manicured grounds, stone terraces and plenty of unique picture opportunities. Enough cannot be said about the General Manager, Doug. He took care of us as though we were family – throughout the entire process and right down to the tiniest detail on the day of our wedding. For example, we had purchased a personalized runner, which we ended up not being able to use as we decided to get married outside in the grass. Doug made a point to find an alternate use for it – ultimately hanging it behind our cake himself. It made for a beautiful backdrop and was a special added touch we did not anticipate. His thoughtfulness was extraordinary. We, and our guests, also cannot stop talking about the food. Our guests were remarking about it all night. The chef, Chris, is a master of his craft. The variety and quality of the passed hors doeuvres was exceptional and the main course was served to perfection. We had several entrée choices and all were superb. Many guests ended up taking food home as they were so full but didn’t want such delicious food to go to waste. The Amber Room was also flexible enough to create a personalized appetizer course for us. The pastry chef, Monica, is also a hidden treasure. Our wedding cake was as delicious as it was lovely, with one of the most unique fillings I’ve ever tasted – our guests are still asking where they can find it! She also created pastry trays with the most delectable little treats including cake pops, mini tarts, éclairs, and custard cups – all of which were truly amazing. In short, the team at the Amber Room was not only supremely talented but they were warm, welcoming, flexible and truly dedicated to creating a memorable experience for us and our guests.

When the Amber Room said they could customize our wedding they went above and beyond to deliver a magical evening surpassing our expectations. My husband Bart and I got married at the Amber Room on October 3, 2015. We didnt want a cookie-cutter traditional wedding, but rather a cocktail-styled party with food served throughout the night and a classy nightclub feel. From our first meeting with Doug all the way through to the end of the reception with Olga they didnt leave a detail unturned. They took their time to understand our vision and brought it to life. We were supposed to get married outside, but due to inclement weather from a hurricane they turned the tented patio into a romantic ceremony site and were able to change the space, full of guests, into a fancy cocktail hour seamlessly. We continue to hear how great the food was from our guests who were especially impressed with the quality and variety of appetizers during the cocktail hour. Our reception continued inside where large tables were mixed with lounge furniture and food stations were scattered throughout the room. We were super impressed by the cake, which was made on site. Its rare to have a wedding cake that is both beautiful and delicious but the Amber Room did both. From a bride and groom prospective… The planning process was made easy and even fun thanks to Doug. The event staff the night of the wedding was always right there to help, very attentive but never overwhelming. We cannot say enough good things about the staff, whose professionalism was through the roof. You could tell how much pride they have in putting together an amazing event, and how much they really care about their clients. We would HIGHLY recommend the Amber Room to anyone… from the most traditional to the most outside the box. Thank you again to Doug, Olga, Gina and the entire staff.

I was born and raised in Danbury, CT and The Amber Room Colonnade has always been a hometown staple. My parents and my Aunt and Uncle both had their weddings at The Amber Room and they tell me how wonderful both their weddings were because of The Amber Room. I even had my high school senior prom at The Amber Room. The ballroom was decorated to perfection and the food was delicious. I remember having such a spectacular time. This past summer I knew they were hiring wait staff so I jumped at the opportunity to apply to my favorite venue. I worked from the end of May until August when I had to go back to college. Working at The Amber Room was awesome. I loved seeing all the events come together. All of my coworkers were so welcoming and great to work with. I always had fun at work and I always looked forward to coming in. The Amber Rooms general manager Doug is amazing. He is the most personable man I have ever met and thanks to Doug I have had the pleasure of interning at The Amber Room over my winter break. I am so upset that this experience has come to an end but Doug has already invited me back for the summer and I am thrilled. Doug knew that I had an interest in event management and that I would be attending college for it. He invited me to intern whenever was easiest for me. He is so passionate about what he does and he was able to share this passion with me. I was only here for a couple weeks but I learned so much. Interning at The Amber Room has been an unforgettable experience. The Amber Room is truly a family and I can not wait until I am back. I cant say enough nice things about The Amber Room and I encourage everyone to book their next event with them! I am already planning my parents 25th Wedding Anniversary party with them!
