I had my wedding at the villa Borghese 9/12/15. When my husband and I arrived at the villa the lobby was packed with our guest and guest from a different wedding. I found out later that eveing that the villa was having three weddings. There was no one in the lobby to greet us nor our guest. My husband and I were told that our guest would be served our signature drink and other refreshments if they arrived early but no one was offering any drinks to the guest. Myself and my husband were standing in the lobby waiting for someone to export us to the bridal suite. Imagines bride looking lost in her long gown waiting to be able to go to the suite to freshen up and get something to eat. Finally after 45 mins of standing the lobby after my husband complained did someone say "its been really busy today." Really? This isnt something I want to bear when its the most important day of my life! Finally we were escorted upstairs and our guest were told where cocktail hour was being held. Shortly after we were greeted by our Matrie D Miguel who was very nice and you can tell he was working really hard to get our room setup how we wanted it. We specifically told the Villa that our place cards were being used as wedding favors and we wanted the mini wine bottles to be placed inside of the ballroom later to find out they were placed outside of the room. My husband and I left the room to go up to the bridal suite to retrieve my shoes when I seen a few bottles left on the table for guest who did not show up to later come down to see those bottles were missing. While my husband and I were walking upstairs to the suite we seen people looking at the bottles that were not our guest. My assumption is that the took them as we had no bottles given back to us at the end of the night. Our dinner was served to our guest extremely late. The Villa Borgheses service was really lack luster. I do not think they should host 3 weddings at a time as they do not have the staff to handle so many people and a wedding is a special moment were it should be valued as that. Its not a random party. To put the icing on the cake when we booked with the villa the first invoice they sent my husband and I they had my husbands last name spelt wrong which I called immediately and Paul Porco assured me that it would be changed in the system. When we came back from our honeymoon there was a survey waiting for us with our last name spelled wrong. So much for caring for someones wedding and changing the name in the system. I would not recommend the Villa Borghese to anyone who is getting married as you would not feel special on the most important day of your life.

We had our big days reception here. VB has mostly great reviews with a few awards under their belt but there were enough bad reviews to make me hesitant. My fiancé and her family loved this place, its fancy without looking too gaudy, some might think it’s a tad dated but Id call it classic. The owner Paul was gracious and professional through all the months leading up to this event. We had concerns at certain points and he went out of his way on several occasions to relax us and ensure things would be fine, even personally cooking our selected menu items before the wedding, not bad. Anyway, the big day arrived and we had by all accounts a flawless reception. Im pretty picky and very observant but this event left me struggling to find anything to complain about. Our Maitre D was on point from start to finish. He bombarded us with cocktails and drinks in our suite upstairs to the point where most of us were full. All the food right down to the all important main course was cooked very well. The flambé dessert came in the form of a mini fire show which was a nice touch that people really enjoyed. (We had a little over 100 guests and the Crystal Room was the perfect size, it also appears to be the nicest room in the place.) As I visited the tables and asked about the food, people universally raved about it, most even complained they had too much. Kings Package is the perfect wedding package all things considered, do your research and compare, for the money it’s hard to beat this quality and presentation. The open bar worked out great, the older female tender made solid drinks and everyone had something in there hand with only a small line developing periodically. Very attentive staff, excellent execution. Never made it seem or feel like just another day, the staff all looked happy, smiling, attentive and genuinely concerned. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place to someone looking for that classically styled venue with truly excellent food, especially if youre Italian. Who wouldve known a reception just ended and another one was begining the same time as ours with this experience?

As we entered the venue they had a small open bar for drinks even before the wedding. The wedding at this venue had me blown away first of all by the food, food, and more food. I have never attended a wedding (Im 74) in my many years where they served such appetizers. Clams casino, fried calamari, three different pasta salads, marinated veggies... this was just the set up tables... and then they came around with platters of things like mango shrimp, puff pastry with spinach, chicken casadias... it was endless. I am sure I am forgetting some of them. There was an open bar with absolutely no limits, however a little went a very long way... not watered down drinks. Then we went into the reception room and our salads were already on our plates.... I passed as I was so full from the Hors doeuvres that I needed a breather before more food. They came around with a bottle of champagne and poured for each guest to make a toast, and then we were at the Brides Moms table and had two bottles of champagne on ice at our table. There was an open bar there also. And they even came around with portable bars to make sure everyone had what they wanted. Then the dinner started off with salad, penne con vodka, your choice for the main course, dessert, coffees and after dinner cordials. Our waiter came back many times to ask how our meal was and to clear away dishes as emptied. It was a wonderful experience as a guest, I can only imagine how happy the parents were that things went off so smoothly. Thank you Villa Borghese for a wonderful afternoon.

As the bride I can say I was very disappointed. My wedding coordinator Erica Vazquez was rude throughout every point of the process. Not only was she unhelpful she battled me when it came to having a soy free menu which I requested since I am highly allergic to soy. We were promised a champagne march which we did not receive, food items we requested were not offered, and I as the bride had to send back my dinner order 3 times due to the fatty, undercooked, and dry meats in which I was served. I was also made to feel guilty because of my soy allergy. Both the bridal and grooms suite were being shown as both parties were getting dressed. Every detail was being fought over, and the Villa failed on multiple accounts. The only good thing about the Villa Borghese was its appearance, yet there were wine glasses cigarette buts and debris around the entire facility. Dont use the VIlla Borghese unless you spend the deluxe amount because they will ignore you otherwise. The Villa Borghese needs to clean up its act.
