WARNING! All I can say is the Downtown 7 Theater & Big Fremont theaters website (or lack of) is completely unacceptable. It is next to impossible to get information on this place. The website is always down and if ever up & running it (the Fremont site) is a confusing mess. Would like to convey this in private, but I challenge anyone to find a contact number, movie time, or anything else about this place. When actually there at the theaters, they are both enjoyable venues but living 30 minutes away, whenever I want to go there & check online for info, the sites are as described above. So the idea gets dropped for a few weeks only to repeat itself time & time again. How much business do they lose like this? Who could ever contact them to advertise? The phone message (movie info) line is just as awkwardly amateurish and incomplete as the rest of the public interface. Never "experienced" anything like this elsewhere.... What a joke!

I hadnt been to the Downtown Cinema for a long time. I was pleasantly surprised that they upgraded the seats to lounge type seats. I dont think they were the super fancy recliner type (although I didnt try, and maybe they were), but then again the ticket prices werent super high like the theatres that have the fancier seats. Regardless, the seats were super comfy. It made the movie experience much more comfortable and cozy feeling. It was like sitting on ones sofa at home, which is one of the reasons I dont go to the theatre much these days, i.e. its more comfortable at home, and the theatres with the super fancy lounge seats cost twice as much. Everything else in the theatre seemed the same (lobby & bathroom) otherwise I might have added the fifth star. The other positive thing about this theatre is its central location to downtown San Luis Obispo which is where we frequently are.

This theater has deplorable previews (trailers). They are consistently loud and violent. They cannot be avoided because if you wait for them to be over, the good seats have been taken. Even if a humane film is playing you have to be very careful whom you invite to join you because the previews are not suitable for most audiences. The new seats are curved the opposite of the human body. They are C shaped and force my head out and down, thus pulling on my back muscles. If you are not a large humped over shaped man, bring a pillow for lumbar support. Then you can gently tip your head back and enjoy the film, after you have recovered from all the blood, gore and murder in the previews.

Poor customer service. I purchased tickets online through their website only to find out that they undercharged me ($2.50) on the cost of the 3D film due to their listing the price in error. I contacted them because I wanted them to be aware of a potentially systemic problem with their online service. They would not honor the original cost of the ticket, and I was told I must pay the difference. I called and asked to speak with a manager because I felt that--though the staff was kind--my experience was poor. I was told by the manager that I could contact the distributor of Mad Max: Fury Road if I had a problem with how ticket pricing works. I did not pursue that option.

Its a fairly decent theater. They serve beer and wine here, so thats pretty cool. Tickets are more expensive now, but they upgraded all of their seats to these new, super awesome, leather ones that are way comfy and much better than the traditional fold up theater seat. Its pretty much the only theater in SLO that youll be able to see new releases at, so its generally fairly crowded when theres something new out. Good experiences here overall.

Terrible service - over sold me tickets to a 3:45pm movie - was offered refund - asked about seeing a movie that started at 4:15 was told that it would cost more because matinee pricing ended at 4pm! Took the refund and left - the lost my business because they would not waive the $2 fee! Im not the one who oversold the first movie and I didnt care about pricing - its the lack of customer care that drives me to vote with my money.

Theyve definitely improved this place a lot. The new seating is great, even if you cant get a recliner the rockers are nice. Theyve added wine and beer. Its pricey, but still nice to have. They have a few more food options like pretzels (which I love) hopefully theyll add some more food soon. Id recommend buying your tickets online especially for a newer movie. Its convenient and the good seats fill up early.

Downtown Centre Cinemas isnt always spotless, and doesnt always have the most helpful or friendly staff, but the theater itself is nice. For a small town cinema, they show limited release films and hold special viewing nights. They recently upgraded all of their seating to large recliners, and have started offering beer & wine in the lobby.

Its not the worlds greatest or anything -- and hopefully someone tall doesnt sit in front of you -- but its not bad. Sure, its a little aged, but that gives it character right? Odds are, its probably a nice day, so maybe you shouldnt be watching a movie anyway. However, when the mood strikes, go on an afternoon and youll be in good stead.

I like the seats. The rest of this place is dated. Even the seats arent really lined up right so tall people can block your view. Its still one of the best movie complexes in the county. Not quite as good as the Galaxy in Atascadero still a decent experience. Not as good as the experience at SLO Counties movie palace, The Fremont.

The theater is very accessible and parking is just across the street. They have a lot of show times throughout the day so its easy to catch a movie at any time. The only downside is with the new recliner chairs you really have to order tickets from their website ahead of time since movie showings will fill up quickly.

Overall great experience and with the new seats its now out go to theater, no more driving to north or south county. My only complaint is no PHONE Number! The "Movie Hotline", does not count, only allows you to listen to pre-recorded info. NO way to call and actually talk to a person, weak sauce.

This place is fantastic! Employees all seem to like working there. The seats in the theatres are super comfortable! We always plan ahead so we can use the recliners! Perfect for a date night or for taking your family to a show! Going there really makes "the movie experience" a better one!

Incredible, the huge seats make you think you are in a first class jumbo jet. The lean back and kick up could make you want to take a nap between films. This is classy and makes the number of seats be cut way down. Come early for one of these seats. - May not be available in all theatres

Its located in a Great spot! You have fantastic restaurants and cafes, with some shopping for that quick buy...but they dont use the Banner Board to advertise what movies are playing and the times. If they were to do that Im sure more people would make a compulsive buy to watch a movie.
