Very poor management. We previously went on line to get out ticket, but the website had problems and wasnt working. We called the phone number to make the reservations and were told we were reserved. We then showed up to the theater with out of town friends and were told we had no reservations and the movie was sold out. Talked with the manager and showed him the call date and time, he just said whom ever we talked with didnt do something right. He said he would give us passes to come back another day, but our friends were only in town that day. We went to another theater and got right in. The manager did give us passes and told us they would be good for any future movie any time. Fast forward to today 12-28-15. We waited untill after Christmas week and tried to use our passes. We we told our passes were not good for the movie showing. The last 2 trips we have made to Riverbank Galaxy Theater have resulted in a waste of our time and gas. We were also lied to about the passes being good for any movie any time. We have decided not to be customers of Riverbank Galaxy Theater anymore. VERY POOR MANAGEMENT.

This is the only theater Ive been to that actually gives you some space between the seats instead of crowding in the most seats as possible until smelly smelly Sam is sitting in your lap. The seats are also leather they are wide and they recline, you also get your own set of arm rests, no sharing or fighting for both from your neighbors. Ticket prices are far for the quality of the theater and comfy chairs. The snacks are pricey but they are that way everywhere. Popcorn seasons are free though no buying a $3 tiny bottle of white cheddar cheese powder here. Do it right ask for a childs drink cup they will give you one for free put the seasons in that and sprinkle it into the popcorn as you go. Only down side about this place is if you dont order your tickets online or get them ahead of time you wont have a seat. Checked online on the way said they had 12 seats by the time dad and I got there all gone. Always use the phone app or online on a computer, dont try for the ticket window.

I love watching movies here. The digital sound quality is awesome!! They have the most comfortable reclining seats. I do wish they would drop the extra $2 fee when the movie is playing on the larger screen. It seems a little decietful when its not posted on line. Thier popcorn is great here, its always fresh and has a great buttury flavor, plus you get to season it with any flavor you like, i.e. caramel cinnomon, white cheddar, kettle corn and tons more, AND......they dont charge you extra for it like other places. The manager treated us like VIPs. People were trying to get us kicked out for laughing and having a good time before the movie even started. He gave us better seats in another theatre away from others who were rude. We like to have a good time and it was a blast. Great snacks, manegement cares and Ive never had a problem with thier sound or screen. Not saying its never happened but its never happened to me. They are also very polite.

WE went to see a movie today, and after standing in line till the movie started, I finally reached the ticket agent and while I was paying for the tickets, my wife was getting refreshments, I was told I needed to pick a seat in the theatre. By now the movie had started. The problem with standing in line so long was because we now have to pick seats. This is unheard of, movies are supposed to be fun not a regimented hall where your seats are to be selected. I have no reason whatsoever to return to your theatre. I would like to know how to redeem my card, and would hope you will get enough staff to man the ticket counter, because people we leaving as we were. People were taking soooooo long at the ticket counter trying to figure out where to sit. You go to a theatre, purchase your ticket, buy your refreshments, sit down and enjoy the movie. NOT at GALAXY in Riverbank. I would like a response if you have the time or staff to answer.

Galaxy theater is the best theater in the area. It offers a near IMAX quality screen (with a surcharge to use it), a wall to wall impressive experience. It was the first to offer all digital projector in its 12 screens (years before the other major theater Brenden did) and they choose not to assault your ears before the movie starts and play either classic movie music or nothing at all (rather then a cheesy selection of pop hits like Brenden). Their seats are comfortable. The service is great. Its a well run theater. The popcorn, like most Californian theaters is expensive... but at least its fresh and tasty. One complain might be the extreme charge in price (up to $15 a person on a night, with 3-D and in the near IMAX dfx)... but if you can avoid the films that have these extra charges or you dont mind the extra money for a great experience then this is for you for sure. I drive out of my way to go here as often as I can.

Like the guy said below you do have to pick your seat when you buy your tickets, and it is always packed. But, isnt that a sign of a good theater? You have to pick your seating because they have recliner chairs now. And sure the first time i went with the new chairs i really thought it was kind of silly, having to pick my seat. But as soon as i walked into the theater i understood why. the new chairs are great, i dont have to worry about someone sitting in front of me, sense i like to put my feet up. And no one can put there feet on my chair, sense there is a wall separating you from the person behind you. The chairs even have tables to hold your food and drinks, and even though the theater is packed your far enough away from the person next to you to not even notice them. i liked galaxy before the chairs upgrade, the picture and sound is better then most other theaters in the area, this is just the icing on the cake.

After planning and saving for a long time my oldest daughter treated my grandaughter and 7 friends to a movie today to celebrate her birthday. I was very disappointed in the rushed and unprofessional way she was treated at the concessions counter. The staff member may have been having a bad day...not sure but our party was happy and excited until we met a rushed and impolite staff member.... Unfortunately the experience dampened the mood. Thankfully I was able to speak to the GM about it and suggested that the staff member receive more training...he was receptive. For a parent on a very limited income, a movie outing of that size for a childs birthday party is not easy to pull off...well lets face it...for ALL of us its a pricy thing to do...I hated to see it turn so stressful over one persons rush to get to the next customer. Thank you, Yolanda Newell A.K.A. YoKnowsModesto

The best theater in the area. Probably the best in the state of California besides its sisters theaters in other cities. If I cant get a seat/ticket to see a movie here I usually wait a few days. It is worth the experience. Other quality theaters just dont match up to the total experience of the seating, viewing angles, comfort, and the options of food and beverages. They also have IMAX, moving seats and the the best sounding audio ever made. The have a full walk up bar and you can take your beer and wine into the movie if you like. The place is well kept up and the people who go to the movies there are respectful and not causing trouble either. This all sounds great you wondering but you are thinking it costs an arm and a leg to go, not!!!! I am not joking here, any movie with its feature only cost a dollar or two more than other theaters. Its well worth the value.
