Angelicas is a top-notch performance venue and restaurant. I primarily come for the jazz shows, but have seen others as well (comedy, etc.). Angelicas is a throw-back to the supper club, where theres live, on-stage entertainment while you dine (not a 3-piece combo playing background music like you get now). Their shows feature some of the biggest artists in the Bay Area, as well as up-and-comers that you may be hearing more about down the road. Peter, the owner, is a great supporter of live music, and includes top-quality high-school combos in his rotation, helping keep jazz alive for younger generations. Besides being a great music venue, the food is great. It doesnt have to be, but it is. My usual choice is the cauliflower fritters, a creative and satisfying dish, but tonight I ventured out and tried the pork medallions, served with carrots, brussels sprouts and an amazingly delicate and rich potato au gratin. It was absolutely delicious, and Id order it again. Its not an inexpensive evening (buy your tickets online in advance to save a lot of money), but youre paying for the entertainment as well as the food, so its worth it. Ive been here a number of times and never left disappointed.

I love the live music, the venue. However, one has to get their own menu, hunt down the service person to order and you know I overlooked that all.. because I love live music but tonigt after my 3rd visit and I had a party of 15. I ordered a bottle of wine. Im on a budget so under bottle it says 18. so i order it. Turns out its 44, and I told my 2 other friends to order it not knowing the real price because apparently the fine print says 2 glasses only but its listed under Bottle. Misleading adviertising. I let the owner know, Peter and he is rude to me. say I can pay 30 and my friends pay full price. NO WAY. I pay full price and Ill will report his rudeness to me. All I wanted was for him to fix the menu and see our side of tis mistake. Clearly it was misleading and thus I intend to report it to the Better business Buerea and never step back into his place again. His loss of potential new business. If you like ok food, slow server but live music then okay go, but read the fine print or get taken to the cleaners.

We ate in the dining room on the second floor, but can hear the live music that was playing downstairs. It was nice the we had the entire dining room to ourselves since it was late and most people were downstairs. Our server was smiling and attentive. He didnt rush us and brought the courses of food out hot and in good time. Our buffalo wings came first (chipotle flavor was delish), followed by house salad (spring mix, not watery iceberg lettuce). After our appetizer and salad plates were removed, our main entrees were brought out. Pan-seared Tornado Seabass was beautifully plated and topped with an orchid. It was too pretty to eat, but we were hungry. The seabass was tender and the squash, zucchini, and purple mash potato was seasoned lightly so that they did not conflict with the lobster sauce. Our second entree, Maple Airline Chicken, wasnt as fancy in appearance, but it was yummy as well. It was served atop gnocchi in maple cheese sauce.

Before my best friend got married a few years ago, she mentioned not wanting anything wild and crazy for her bachelorette party. Being in charge of the planning, I knew just the place to have it. That, and Ive been wanting to have a tea party idea for days. The reservation process and service the day of the event were excellent. Our menu consisted of salad, 4 types of tea sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, petit fours, bread pudding and 4 types of tea. I had forgotten to exclude a few guests who couldnt make it, so there was more than enough to go around. One of the owners was nice enough to take a picture of our group at the table and in front of their Christmas tree. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Two thumbs and a pinkie up to you, Angelica, and thank you!

Attended a show last night of some songwriters Steve Kritzer, Michael Gaither and Claudia Nygard . Great show. Food was good. The place is charming. However service was quite slow, servers seemed stressed and were a bit surly, especially woman behind the bar. One huge complaint was the concert/dinner room (Blues Jazz?) was stiffling hot (86 deg at one point). We had recent heart patient with us who was having difficulty breathing. That room is a law suit waiting to happen. We were told the room downstairs (air conditioned) was for bigger crowds, however, we noticed more people upstairs than for the show downstairs. We love live music and appreciate the venue right near us. We would likely not come back however until the heat problem is resolved. .

Went on a Sunday for brunch. I ordered the Texas breakfast burrito. It was pretty good, not gonna lie. The chorizo had a nice kick to it. 3 of us ordered coffee and one of them seemed to taste really bitter. I think she got the last sip of Ive that had been sitting there for a while. That taste would not leave my mouth. Her boyfriend ended up ordering another, which they never brought. Once we had payed, we sat around for about another half hour. The waitress came over and asked if we wanted more coffee and we politely declined. I felt like the server was more attentive than our waitress. He asked if we wanted any sauces and came right away with them. Overall the atmosphere and food was great, not sure about the service!

Angelicas Bistro back patio has a creative atmosphere that makes very best use of outdoor space that would otherwise be a back alley. You eat surrounded by a water fountain themed courtyard with lots of plants and statues, and fountains. I had the pineapple ham and a wilted lettuce for appetizer and a hamburger. I had one soft drink. The pineapple ham and wilted lettuce were good, the burger no better than most any local hamburger joint. It was about $43 out the door. There are several indoor dining areas that I did not visit; they also host popular live music. The main stage features a state of art sound system and basic stage lighting.

I recently attended Angelicas main dining room to enjoy the cuisine and music of the Kaye Bohler show. Wow! What a night. Our meals were delicious and presented exquisitely. The service was outstanding, and the food and wine fairly priced for such an extravagant dining experience. The music was quite entertaining... the stage, lighting, and sound system were first rate. One of the problems at live show is bad sound or too much volume, but this was perfect. Kaye Bohler captured the crowd, and was a fantastic show. Im already looking forward to seeing the Summer of Love show at Angelicas on August 30th!

So the place itself is nice, but the food isnt good. We went for brunch. We ordered orange juice, we were expecting fresh juice but the taste was the same as our bottle of orange juice that we buy every week in the grocery store. Very disappointed on that one!!! Also I ordered Benedict eggs but both eggs were overcooked. My husband ordered something with salmon, but it was not as flavorful as we were expecting. My friend asked for no meat, but his first plate came out with meat. Service was okayish... it could be better. Overall, we were all disappointed. Not sure well be back!
