I dont get the good reviews. Maybe I went in on an off night. I went in for a beer, there were only a couple of people in there, it was very dark, dead silent, no tap beer and only 4 basic bottle beers to choose from. If they were nice I would have given them more stars but they seemed bothered by me being there.

Upstairs = excellent, tiny venue for live music in Oakland. Bring earplugs! Downstairs = cool, low-key bar with old-school booths; pretty local crowd. Talent varies widely between bartenders. Going between bar & music venue requires going outside and up set of steep, Victorian stairs.

The power went out 3 times. Delays caused me to miss headline act b/c the venue hadnt hired a proper electrician to check their system and i needed to catch the last BART train at 12:30 am.

I had such a wonderful night at The Night Lightwith my friends. This place is so cozy and full of good vibes. Even I was in CA just for one week I spent two nights here with no regrets.

The music is not that good and the DJs never put any of our requested songs even though he had said yes. The place has a lot of potential but their music needs to change.

Saw my friends band play upstairs. Pretty cool little venue in Oaklands Jack London area. Parking was easy, so I would come back to see more shows.

Its a cool bar with arcade games and dj performance on Friday nights. Its a lil bit loud so you might come here as a later stop of your night.
